Acceptable Reasons to leave a race before you've had your arse spa

none really in my book...

The only reason I have ever left is because I was blocked in my 2 cars as I guess they didn't want me to win for the tenth time in a row...

I mainly race non-contact now and people just bugger off constantly...

I message them and ask them in a non confrontational way what happened and they say things like "well I wasn't gonna win so I left"

What kind of attitude is this?

I sometimes lose & usually I message the winner telling them well done and usually add them as a bit of serious competition...I don't mind having my arse handed to me on occasion...it's good it keeps me improving

But yeah the I wasn't gonna win thing is the same excuse people make for backward driving with contact on...

I realize this being my first thread I seem like a whiney CNT but I'm not usually honest :)

What attitude is this you ask?

Douchebaggery. Douchebaggery I say.

OT: I'd avoid those people pronto.

I've quit races like Stairway to Heaven where there's 16 people in the race and so many people are trying to go up the ramp that no one can go up the ramp, if you know what I mean.

I would never quit a race because I'm losing. Who gives a sh*t?

I have only left a race because of either

1) I'm needed for urgent other things ie: One of my kids has woken up and is now being sick all over the place, then it's sod the race and time to change duvets..

2) I have been know to leave a few time because of some knumptie that wants to block a ramp or something in lap races... Sometimes i can hack it othertimes nah, see ya...

Well I can't have that winning percentage drop. Ladies love the winning percentage.

JK. Don't see the reason to leave a race. I've done over 500 and haven't left a single one.

Okay none wasn't correct haha

Sex is definitely worth leaving for and if one of my cats walked in having been hit by a car I would take them to the vet...

Work, have to go to the bathroom, kids, food, sex.

The only one I would leave a race for is sex. ;)

- 'Long Haul' race starts with you being pummelled into last place by bad drivers and catch-up is off.

- The race is full of ramps and jumps that may sound good and fun ... to a child, but I am not interested in seeing the many ways my car can flip over and over and over before exploding.

- Home affairs intrude into the whole GTA experience.

- You realise the bicycle race you joined wasn't short, but a whole lap of the map.

plus many more reasons.

okay okay the above are also valid reasons but then I don't join tracks if I have any doubt about them...We're talking a small lobby here and all I've done is get miles ahead lol

I would enjoy an arse spa. Sounds wonderful.

This sort of thing was a legendary problem in Forza Motorsport 3... if you lost a race to a lower ranked driver then your own ranking took a hit, so all the 'World Class' (or whatever it was) drivers would quit out if they were being beaten by a lower driver.

Only race I quit out of in GTAO was this 'wallrider' one in a playlist someone had started. It was effectively impossible to do a lap.

I quit races that have ridiculously hard ramps and obstacles or poorly designed courses. Or if the other players just keep ramming you and trying to make you crash. If it's a good clean race. I don't mind losing. I lose most races anyway. You still make some money if you lose. You get nothing if you quit.

Are those priorities right to left or left to right?

I never left a race. Well, maybe once if it was one of those 30 minutes race and I told myself "one last race before bed" type of deal. I'm excited if I'm in the top 3 which is rare as I don't own a super car and all these races are super cars so I'm usually around 5-6 place but if I manage to end up in the bottom 3, I still finish. Gives RP and money and it would be a waste to just leave. Shows you're taking racing too seriously. Racing is so laid-back if you're in last place. It's like cruising at fast speed.

I never leave because I'm losing, even if the race is ridiculous. Only time I've left early is usually because it's a long event and my partner has just served up dinner or something. If someone keeps kicking my ass though, I may go back to free roam after a couple of races.

It's the bad sport attitude :)

I wish too. I race a lot in a stock super car (because I don't have one) and when a tuned up one overtakes me, I honk as if saying, "I know you're there, go ahead" and move away from them to show I won't hit them. Rarely I'll get a honk back, sometimes I'll get nothing as they keep going but most of the time I'll get a pit maneuver. I once ignored all my check points so I could spin this guy out that pit maneuvered me. I was dead last and never finished the race but I managed to get him in 4th place. I don't care anymore in revenge, I'm more interested in getting that free money when finishing the race.

I come from a Forza background and races would get so tense that GTA:O racing is much easier. Well, not easier...less stressful, I'd say. I've had good races but when your car isn't the same as the customized ones and they still spin you out, you stop caring about winning. You just want that money.

I leave because I realise the tracks yet ANOTHER jump infested sh*thole, whether in first or last.

I cut power on my console once when my neighbor phoned asking for a ride to the emergency room, but I was in first place at the time. Otherwise, never quit.

I stay. Give it a try.

If it's good, I like it, but 99% of them aren't - so I enjoy giving it a good ol'fashioned down-vote.

The only reason it's ever acceptable to leave a race is if the track itself is un-passable. There is some created crap out there, no doubt by a 6 year old, for example, you have to drive across 25 water ramps back to back to make it to the next CP. Creator should have his privileges to make races taken away, and that race should be removed.

Otherwise, finish the race, deathmatch, cap, mission, etc. like a damn grown up. If that's too much to ask, XBL has a whole plethora of crap games for you like Uno and Viva Pinata.

Work - why were you playing in the first place if you had to go to work? If you were called into work, they can wait until the end of the race I'm sure...

Have to go to the bathroom - What you can't hold it? Either got the sh*ts or a woman's/OAP's bladder...

Kids - Shame on you for having them in the first place

Food - Again, can't wait until the end of the race? You're hardly gonna starve in 10 minutes max

Sex - Make sure you use protection, don't want anymore kids ruining your gaming experience

Bathroom, just go afk, don't quit. One of my kids needs something when they r supposed to be in bed or I get an important phone call (not Lester).

Hey man, we all make mistakes. As long as we all learn from them...
