Last time they took everyone down to $550K, I was at $1.3 mil before receiving over 3.2 billion in gifted cash R*. So

R* took $850K legit away

 

They cant / dont have the resources to evaluate every account. They may just wipe cash over a certain number again. I'm betting that number is somewhere around $7 - $10 mil.

They didn't take 800k away, that's what you spent since being given the modded money.

 

Well I didn't spend any of it on my main character and that's the one I kept clean, my second character had all the money, I spent hours tranfering it to her pocket.

 

She didn't spend any of it except trying out all the luxury apartments.

 

You can believe R* did an case by case evaluation of everyones accounts if you want, and most of us end up with $550K by coincidence.

 

There were players who never were gifted money and had their balances increased! how did R* figure that?

Don't know, but that was not what happened to me. And not what happened to other players I've spoken with. I'm willing to bet you blew 850000 on the apartments with your second character, so you did spend cash, even if you thought it was just the billionaire money. But once that money is mixed in with your legit or lsc cash, it's comingled.

 

They can figure out how much hackers gave you, and how much you spent. So they reduced you to your original level of cash less what you spent on apartments.

 

Those left with just 550000,spent all or most of their money from what I can discern, and Rockstar reset them to their original level plus the 500000 in cash that Rockstar gifted everyone.

Last time I had received no money and my balance was unchanged after the wipe. So not everyone was effected despite the common assumption.

 

I can confirm this. I hadn't been given money/ glitched and my cash stayed the same after the last wipe.

Yes. I had about $1.5 million iirc. Certainly over a million.

I wish people would stop saying 'money wipe'. They never did a money wipe.

 

What they did was try to remove glitched funds - but without removing the 500K gift (if applicable) or putting the account below 0.

Because most recipients spent more money than they had legitimately earned - this resulted in a balance of either 0 or 500K.

You guys are forgetting something, rockstar is owned by take- two which is a publicly traded company and are legally required to maximize profits for there shareholders within reason. All publicly trade companies are required to do this.

 

The glitches cash is a direct threat to the cash card business model that rockstar has employed in gta online. Failure to act on this would be grounds for investors to go after a change at the top of take-two and I assure you Strauss Zelnick (current head of take two) won't let that happen.

 

Rockstar will address the glitched cash once they are able to, it takes time to develop the code needed to sort this out so don't confuse the time with developing the tool to do a cash sweep with rockstar deciding not to do anything about it.

 

Expect a cash wipe before heists/next gen release, there's no way rockstar releases on next gen and does nothing about modded cash as next gen will be a huge window for them to sell more cash cards.

 

Lastly, I don't know any legit players that lost cash on the last sweep. We all kept our legit money, for some that was millions of dollars. I'm sure some people got boned, or thought they did, but there was no indiscriminate blanket reset.

No-one really knows. Depends how wide spread the problem is and if R* think they will annoy to many people if they reset money and lose a sizeable portion of the player base in the process...

 

This also would require R* to acknowledge they have failed to properly secure there game against being excessive exploited despite practically every Update/Patch containing Patches for money glitches and measures to prevent modding AFTER a money wipe has already occurred.

On the other hand, a good portion of the players who leave will be a bunch of annoying little kids and hackers.

You must of grinded Criminal Records alot to get almost 300 Mil.

 

When I started out, I had about 400k and was then gifted 99m during the billionaire era, I didn't play after- thus i didnt buy anything with the 99m and R* only gave me 100k back. Now I have 18m legit, so if they wipe that.........

 

If you want to be on the safe side I'd suggest investing all that money into Expensive cars across multiple characters. That way if they do wipe most of it you'd at least have your money invested into cars that you can just resell and get most of it back. Otherwise I'm pretty sure they will wipe users who have ridiculously high amounts of glitched cash.

They would be better served addressing issues that affect the in game experience rather than trying to squeeze out even more money from their player base.

They have an obligation to shareholders 100% of the time. End of story. A business that is publicly traded will never turn down a chance at profit, which is what cash cards are. You never "make your money" as a public company and stop. You fund future projects, reinvest in the company, or give it back to the shareholders in the form of dividends. You don't ever ever ever ever call it quits based on "we made our money".

On a side note rock star only needs too review the red flag accounts that don't add up. Simply put develop a algorithm that figures it out for you, in the US we have a simple method of tracking criminal banking activity any deposit over $10,000.00 sends up a red flag in a database that is then reviewed.

 

A similar solution could be implemented into this game. Say around oh 50,000.00. He deposited 180,000.00 just now, oh he played rooftop rumble 10 times that fits, wait he bought a elegy and sold a adder, sounds fishy better keep a eye out for this one.

 

Bad example

Hmmm account shows 10,000,000.00 but he only has 3d 4hrs played

 

$10,000,000.00 if say grinding rooftop rumble would require over 530 plays. Approx 5300 minutes, 88.33 hours or 3.68 days

 

Barring cash cards no one under rank 100 could have that much money since doing this would yield 2,650,000 rp which is 1,100,000 over the amount needed too reach rank 100.

 

How too separate money from glitched not sure but here's hoping they:

1. reduce ranks face it you glitched your $ you probably glitched your rank.

2.wipe out garages and Pegasus vehicles just because we know you chradderbond and bought a tank

3. Bad sport and or/ perm bad sport for repeat offenders. (Ie you glitched your rank last time they reset ranks)

 

If a cash card was purchased some of these things would be slightly altered that amount would be placed in your account.

 

If these steps don't deter you enough a lovely statement of you are violating end user agreement this is your final warning. Might

 

If you want too rage quit that's fine rock star already got your $ and that's one less glitcher for the rest of us too deal with.

 

A glitch that's harmless like the gate launch is nothing.

 

The money glitch isn't if you can't afford a tank then you cannot grief lower levels unless you snag one off the street.

You cannot afford the best cars and mod them too win races.

If you cannot afford to restock all your ammo missions ,deathmatches become more difficult and your are far less likely too spam stickies, Rpg's etc

These are facts.

 

Exploiting glitches to gain a unfair advantage is literally a step away from God modding etc, If you want god mode play single player and enable cheats enjoy.

When players can obtain cash easily via glitching then there's no incentive to buy cash cards. Cash cards make rockstar, take-two, and there shareholders a lot of money and as previously pointed out a publicly traded company is under constant legal requirement to maximize profits. So expect rockstar to develop whatever tools necessary to weed out modded cash when modded cash becomes a widespread issue, and in my opinion modded cash is once again a widespread issue.

 

I know I'm biased because I come from a software development background, but it's unfortunate people can't just play this game as rockstar designed. If this game wasn't for you then you should have just returned it and picked up something else, not cheat to impose your will over other players or to circumvent the intended design of the game. I know I shouldn't have high expectations for a customer base dominated by teenagers who turn to YouTube to learn how to cheat but still, I wonder where this game could be by now if people didn't feel the need to exploit bugs for an advantage.

Last time they were able to tell when people had 100s of millions and billions that it was impossible to obtain by playing the game.

People who have millions or even 10-20 mill from playing the game cant be differentiated from those who glitched it or not.

It would be stupid as f*ck on R*s part to take away that little amount of money that is not game breaking.

I dont think they keep the kind of records of every transaction y'all think they do.

This isn't the game as Rockstar designed, though. They significantly decreased mission payouts post 1.06.
