Where are all the older players?

I think some of you are making a bigger deal of a person's age than it really is,especially in relation to this game .When someone turns 18,20,30,40,50 etc it doesn't instantly make them a nice,mature and wise person and just because someone is under 18 it doesn't make them an immature,entitled millennium.I've met people in their 20s and 30s(Online and in the real world)who are vain and selfish and who can't form a logical and structured opinion in a debate or disagreement and resort to yelling abusive language.On the other hand I've met 13-17 year olds who can engage in debates with well informed opinions that are open to change and are some of the nicest people you could meet.Age does affect people.Immature or "nasty" people can grow up and become better people or they can become even more horrible because they have a position of authority and nice or mature people can grow in to even more wise and intelligent people or become bitter and meaner with age.You can have nice, intelligent and thoughtful kids and you can have sadistic,stupid and arrogant adults.A kid you pass on the street could turn out to be a lawyer,doctor,politician,good father,friend,soldier etc or they could turn out to be a murderer,raper,junkie etc.You shouldn't judge a person just by their age.Judge them by what they do,what they say,how they treat others and themselves,their intelligence,their personality etc.

 

In Nonchalant Dominance, the crew I'm in,there's lots of people of various ages but they're all brought together by the fact that they like racing and gta.When I'm playing with them or talking to them their age has little effect.Obviously it's easier to talk to and I usually would have more in common with members my own age (15/16) than guys in their 20s but I've still spent plenty of time discussing cars,gta,racing and other things with guys who are 7,8,9 years older than me and not really noticed a difference.

Wasn't TLDR for me! I agree with you. Before I started playing this game, I played World of Warcraft and one important thing I learned was that you should never judge someone by their age. Some of the biggest sissy baby emo whiners in my guild were the people who were 30+ years old. Heck, I think one of our worst ones ever was 50-something.There were a couple kids in their young teens who were very polite and appropriate, never had issues with them or complaints from other guild members about them. My dad is 61 and plays WoW and he actually takes pride in being a "troll", if that tells you anything. I actually had to quit playing the game with him because he was embarrassing. I'm sure people who don't know him IRL assume he's a young teen.

16 almost 17, I started out on San Andreas as a kid (First played ps2, my sister had it, she went to the bathroom and I held the controller, by the time she got bk I figured out how to play xD). I've always been mature for my age so my mom let's me play these types of games. Seems like alot of inmature young kids online though that SHOULDN'T be playing, at least not online. It's cod all over again, I had a squeaker join me and "cuss me out" for not accepting his invite, hilarious. I bought gta sa on psn 2 days ago since I never beat it along with sonic adventure dx and sonic adventure 2 but I haven't gotten into SA. I'm too onto V controls since I've been playing for 2-3 months. Was hoping they made the controls changeable. Age is irrelevant long as your mature but I tend to find ppl my age on gtao more than I have elsewhere. (COD,Steam Games,etc) It's kinda nice but doesn't matter much since I don't really talk to people as "friends". All about gtao I wonder how lil kids get mics.. I wasn't allowed one until I was like 13-14, but there's ppl like 8-9 with them ~_~

I've been playing GTA since it enetered the HD era with GTA III. I was about 9 or 10 when it came out. Unlike other parents who freaked out about the game at the time, my parents knew that I didn't take the game so seriously because in the end, it was just a game and I knew it was all make believe.

 

I got GTAV when it first came out and have been playing it since, going from 360 to PS4.

 

I'm 22 and thought I'm definitely on the younger side yet I find myself playing with a more mature crowd because they're not complete retards.

 

However, I have come across a few teenagers who more mature/better players than some of the older ones I've encountered.

 

Just remember, age like skill level, doesn't relate to how mature or how good you are at the game. And in the end, it's just a game. A fun one no matter how old you are 😁

Best way to play with older players is to join a crew with older players in it.Online is infected with children and bad parenting. Rockstar should have a couple of people randomly entering freeroam settings and flat out banning any accounts clearly being used/played by children. Might teach parents a lesson and scare the rest into spending time with their young children or not letting them play games clearly labelled for adults only.

 

If a squeaker is particularly annoying just start in with some classic Mom jokes or shout "C***TY C**T C***T" repeatedly or anything to that effect down the mic in the hope that he will repeat it to his parents and they may see the error of their ways?...

Can totally agree with this. I use to play with a teen ager a few years ago who was a really good person to play with. Level headed and not your typical loud little brat. I also don't care about skill at all. Sure it's nice when somebody can hold their own, but I'd happily throw away a really great player who is rude and obnoxious for a friendly and easy going crap player every time. I play games for the fun of it. Meeting great people and having a good BS trumps any rank or score I get.

Not that I'M questioning your credibility, but people may believe you more easily if you're not so quick to become defensive about it. Also while what you described is in no way unattainable luxury, it's a bit obvious with the whole set-up and wife servant thing you've got going on there.

 

As someone who is not even near his 40's I shouldn't have to tell you this, but I'm gonna do it anyway. Ignore the children and their immature comments and ignorant statements, you really don't have to prove yourself to anyone, especially on forums like these.

I'm an older gamer at 45. I joined this forum back in 2012 and I've always been a lurker. I haven't posted a single post until today because I have to stop playing games for a while. Thanks to that 28 days daily objectives award, I freaking developed gamer's thumb .
