Favorite and Worst missions?

Recommended Posts

By Favorite/Worst, I'm referring to the fun while playing it. Do you enjoy it? Would you get tired if you played it infinite times? etc.

So, what are your favorite and/or your worst missions in GTA:O?

My favorite ones so far has to be:

  1. Crystal Clearout (by Trevor); so much fun using my Suppressed Sniper. I'm yet to find a decent place to silently kill the boat drivers though. maybe the payout is cheap, 7,500 but couldn't give a sh*t.
  2. Diamonds Are for Trevor; So much fun like the above one. And yet better, it starts in PB! All I need is climb on the nearby building, surprise-attack the idiots, grab the stuff, get in the boat and out, pull my Heavy sniper and destroy the helicopter, pull out my Minigun and burst the f*ckers on their boats, then safely sail to the drop off. payout side, its decent- 10,500. Not much but it is good IMO.
  3. Base Invaders by Ron; By far my second favorite mission in the entire game. You don't even need to use the plane given for you. just get in and exit, get in your vehicle of choice, head towards the northern part of the base, keep shooting the Lazers with your Heavy sniper. takes 7-8 shots to destroy one Lazer. After you destroy them, get in your vehicle and jump off the cliff and head to the hanger from the back, directly inside the hanger > kill the guards > hop in Cargobob and buzz off. Payout is the same as RR, 18,750.
  4. Chopper Tail by Trevor; You don't need to drive the given vehicle (Dune Buggy?) all the time, you don't need to follow the maverick. Just get in the objective vehicle and exit back in your car. If you know where would the chopper land then just go over there. Once it lands burst through everything up, get in the sh*tty Granger after pulling off the maverick somewhere else and go off-road'ing. Can be a pain since this sh*tty car is a disaster at stuff like this. Payout is 17,250.
  5. Defender by Martin; Aah, my favorite mission in the entire game. get in buzzard > go to the LSIA to trigger the marker > destroy the enemy froggers that are coming > Land where the mission start. The second you finish, you respawn by the nearby road. Then just start the mission. Also if you want you can land right next to where RR start- Double Win. Payout is 17,250.
  6. Extraction by Martin; Third favorite mission. Combines almost all what I like. Lazer blastin' cop slaughterin', Titan trollin'. Get in base > Hop in farthest Lazer > Take off > Blow up the enemy Lazers just for safety then slaughter the Titan > Lose cops > Blow up the DA > Land the Lazer nearby > Pick up stuff > Take off and haul ass to Martin > Bail out and try parachuting before the cops shows off. If they did came then just wait by the nearby hills. Once disappeared hit the marker. Payout is 15k.
  7. The Los Santos Connection by Martin; Hadn't finished it yet but I just saw how f*cking fun this mission is. If you don't have a Buzzard but already got the Vestra and you're good at flying, you can use it for fast-traveling. Call one > Fly to first location > kill enemies and get in the car and exit fast > Takeoff and head to next location > Land nearby (If you're a bad pilot, good luck) > kill enemies, use the nearby vans to block off the enemies while hacking the laptop/terminal > Takeoff again, land at the southeastern part of the runway, sticky the Shamal, kill the people inside the hanger then blow up the planes/cars there, once the objective tell you to destroy the Shamal- Left on D-pad provided you haven't died yet to lose the sticky (and there where I failed). Mission Passed. Payout is 15k or 14k, but with the crates around each drop-off can result in a 17k full payout. great mission I must say. :^:

As for the worst missions:

  1. Rooftop Rumble; f*ck that mission. Second most boring mission in the game. I'll never understand how can someone play this mission Solo for a whole damn hour straight. Hell I started calling it Roof-Cock Boredom.
  2. Coveted; I hated this mission before the update. Now I hate it even more. most boring mission in the ENTIRE series. I stopped hosting it unless my friends/crewmates invited me to it.
  3. Out of Harmony or whatever its called. A sh*tty short timer, a worse-accuracy-than-RR-dudes Lost members, sh*tty drop off point. A serious disaster.
  4. All of Simeon's and Gerald's missions; self-explanatory.

What are yours?

I just played The Los Santos Connection from Martin and I forgot how awesome it was. Definitely a favorite. I'l try some that you listed.

EDIT: It pays $30K, too. (best mission payout i think..?)

Aah, how did I forgot about The LS Connection? One of my favorite missions in this game, alongside Dry Docking. You pushed me to start playing these missions again :p

I like the majority of the missions. Nice list BTW. I absolutely hate all of Lester's missions that deal with a Cargobob.

These are the missions I play on a regular basis when I need some cash. Mostly Defender, base Invaders 3 times and RR one or 2 times, then finish with a survival.

I see you mentioning Docks To Stocks II here.

Yeah, The Los Santos Connection, Diamonds are for Trevor, and Dry Docking are loads of fun, especially when you're doing them with a group of people who know what they're doing.

When we do Chopper Tail, someone drives to the Meth Lab before anyone gets into the Dune Buggy, so that by the time the chopper gets there, the cops have been sniped and the equipment is halfway to Trevor's.

Coveted is actually fun... we were playing it yesterday, and while the Cargobob was on its way to the drop-off, we lined up the SUVs and were trying to jump them with the Sanchez. We were doing a playlist, so doing that became secondary to completing the mission.

I love grinding out Potshot on my own. Ideally, the goal is to complete it without firing any shots - run over the two guys guarding the bridge and jack the guy out of the van and stomp him to death.

Extradition is fun, and pays well, too.

Even though it pays crap, Pickup Sticks has recently become a favorite. If you know where to land the chopper, it's not that hard, and loads of fun.

You'll get no argument out of me regarding Out of Harmony. Although if someone in our crew hasn't played it, we'll do it just to show them how horrible it is.

How did I forgot Extraction even though it combines most of what I like? :sui:

If you havent played Pickup Sticks for Martin try that one out, one of my favourites at the moment, long mission, $9000 payout and its great fun corpsing up the Hillbillies and the Altruist Cult. Good idea to bring a crew member along with you to complete this mission there are a lot of enemies to deal with throughout.

I suppose I hate RR but I still end up playing it a few times a week somehow lol.

Really hoping Rockstar give us some new missions next update

I like trash talk with a buzzard, easy and fun to do solo with decent payout 15k + no ammo cost if u use a buzzard

Easier to list the ones I dislike:

- Missions from Simeon, apart from Blow Up.

- Base Invaders, I have yet to complete this, it's the constant spawning of the Army that makes me fail.

- Cops Capacity, I have yet to complete, little money, too much hard work.

- Rooftop Rumble, it's boring with a full lobby of 4, if solo I could do it once but not over and over.

Whatcha talkin' 'bout? BI is one of the easiest high-paying missions in this game. Just after you destroy the Lazers using my mentioned strategy, drive directly inside and ignore everybody, kill the three marines guarding the Cargobob and fly away. Kill any other enemy if needed.

I hardly ever get problems in this mission unless my "suck at gaming" period stroke again. :/

Ha! Since Bio herself said it, RR sucks! Its official!

The worst missions are those that have time limits, multiple moving targets spread across the map or both.

Landing Gear is another fun mission that pays good. Some people don't know you only have to land one plane, so we usually have someone stay back and blow up the other two planes once one has successfully landed.

And Base Invaders is fun. I've soloed it on hard with no problems, then done it with four experienced players and everything's gone south. There are several ways to do it efficiently.

Need to get a Heavy Sniper first then, too low level to buy one, Survival first it is.

Arrows to Athens

Method in the madness has to be in my opinion the best mission the game. With the strategy I found myself you can finish the mission within 4-5 minutes and that's if you have a friend who knows what he's doing. You can destroy one meth and only deliver only one. A buzzard is required. It fecthes you $17000+ and 5000RP+.

Fun and much better than Cocketed and Roofcock Dumble.

Trash talk is the 2nd best. Easily soloable, quick, saves ammo and fetches you $15000 and 3500RP+.

Good thing is when you replay it you will start at Trevor's. The airfield is right near you to pick up your buzzard and the meth lab isn't very far away. One goes to the meth lab while one goes straight to Canyon. After vehicles destroyed the guy in the buzzard destroys one meth and lands the buzzard halfway across the river on the left side and picks off the two on the boat with the other meth. Then fly back to Trevs.

I just hope that Rockstar doesn't make it so that you have to deliver both. Can't wait till Chemical extraction is back in the next update. Hopefully they don't nerf that as well.

I hate it when I see a chopper heading our way and in an attempt to stand up and mow it down my character decides to go for a swim. So what does he do? He dives out of the boat like a mermaid. Rockstar needs to get rid of this animation.

Hard labor is such a sucky mission. Gerald missions can be fun just to shoot people.

We all know that Gerald and Simeon are broke motherf*ckers.

RR is actually a solid mission in it current form. It actually takes skill to do solo and there is more to it with getting the document than before. Its not a great mission but its definitely not bad.

Same goes for Coveted. I actually really enjoy sniping all the goons, it presents a fun, enjoyable challenge.

The only reason I see for people to hate these missions is because they are sick of them spamming out the job list/mission lobbies. I could have seen how they could have been perceived "bad" before but not now.

Besides this, I completely agree with the OP :^:

I hate Roof-Cock Boredom and Cocketed because both are waaaay too damn boring.

[RR] park on bridge where document spawns, Combat MG/Carbine Rifle everybody, get down on the nearby wall, mow down two near the front entrance, kill the one on the other side, get in and out to trigger marker, get up, Heavy sniper the Fugitive driver and the passengers, look back by holding R3, once the text "Steal the document" appeared let go R3 and Carbine Rifle the driver's head, pick up Doc and haul ass to Martin.

[Cocketed] Snipe this, snipe that, wait for Cargo, kill pilot, hop in said helo, pick up container and land it where the heli landed first, exit, up the container, Heavy sniper upcoming heli, get back in heli, have your ass bored now.

RR *Cough Roof-Cock Boredom */Cough* doesn't take any skill as long as you know how to play this mission. One of the easiest missions in this game. So is Cocketed if you know what to do. This game is so damn easy anyway.

I hate A Boat by the Bay. I really do!

The f*ck how I forgot about this mission? All this sh*t for a measy 7,500? Take that price, and shove it down your f*cking ass Ron.

I get what you mean, but if you were to brake down pretty much every mission like that then they won't sound as fun either (except a small few). I can think of much worse missions as well. I'd rank coveted in the top 20-30 out of 100+ missions, RR not so high but still in top 50 max. I will admit these missions aren't the greatest jobs in the game but they aren't bad by any margin compared to what other missions R* have offered us.

Obviously my opinion, but yeah.

Method In The Madness is the best mission. Too many terrible missions for me to recall here.

I love doing missions in Blaine County. I don't know why.

Why would you move the Maverick and go off road? Just drive out the driveway and down the road. Do it fast and you won't even be followed. There's a motorcycle cop on the way, but you can take her out preemptively by veering into her. Granger has more than enough speed and maneuverability for the job.
