Payne Killer
Would anyone recommend playing need for speed carbon Only for the Muscle Cars, and some pretty awesome tuning options to modify bodykits and stuff. Drifting is ruined. Campaign is too short. You have to either grind or use a starter car only or hacks to get a certain bonus muscle car. Then there's bonus cars and parts only obtainable via multiplayer.Sounds lame. I wish underground 1-2 were for Xbox 360 and ps3.
Guest
I wouldn't want old-school pre-underground exocit NFS games anymore, because lets face it, modern day supercars are ugly as f*ck. Might as well make HD remasters. lol nobody wants to see exotic NFS games anymore. The past four NFS games have been exotics, and they sold f*ck all so EA have to suck as much as they can with DLC. Like, selling two cars for a fiver. That sh*t is disgusting. BlackPanthaa makes some excellent points in his videos, explains it brilliantly. Guest
How different is need for speed most wanted (05) from PS2 to Xbox 360. Pretty much just graphics. Look on YouTube, there's comparison videos. I think MW on PS2 looks ok, car detail is good for PS2, but the map looks pretty ugly. There's a bigger difference with Carbon though. On PS3/360, you can see boss characters inside their car as they drive past, and they'll talk and stuff. On PS2, it's just a blacked out window as the camera pans past the cars. Feels a little bit cheap imo. Got Carbon for PS3 recently, cost £15. I thought CEX were ripping me off until I checked online, haha. Hyperglide
TS got exposed ITT lol You must be like 20 if you don't think Hot Pursuit, High Stakes aren't proper NFS games. I grew up on those games and I don't appreciate you sh*tting all over them because they didn't sell 11 million copies and couldn't create hopped up rice burners. Those games were all about style and the OST's were amazing. You obviously just weren't around to experience their beauty at the time. They haven't aged well but back then they were the bee's knees of arcade racers. Banks., 98 in 1, Payne Killer and 2 others
LeonTheKiller
Anyways numbers time. People get scared when they see numbers. >:3 Hot Pursuit 2 sold only 4 million Underground 11 million. Underground 2 11 million. Most Wanted sold 10 million. Carbon selling 9 million. Pro Street 9 million. Undercover 6.5 million. Shift 5 million. Hot Pursuit 2010 5.5 million. Shift 2 1 million. The Run 4 million. Most Wanted 2012 sold 4.5 million. See what people want? The majority don't want exotic NFS. If it was so good, why did Most Wanted and Hot Pursuit sell 4.5/5.5 million? Do you have any source for this ? As far as i remember, NFS Most Wanted 05 is the best selling title in the series, with 16 million of copies sold world wide. Flachbau
Carbon is nice. I recommend it if you like Most Wanted. It's similar in a way. Nico
NFS Underground 2 was the first big game i had in my PC, so is very special to me. I was 10 back then and i remember how everything was very badly rendered because the ancient graphic card. Later my parents upgraded it and everything was fine. I only beat that game once, in June 2010. Believe or not, i never played the original Most Wanted. Maybe someday i'll try it. My next NFS was Carbon, but i never liked it so much. In 2009 i beat Porsche Unleashed. Loved it, it was very challenging. And my last NFS was Hot Pursuit 2010. Very meh. Did you see the frightened ones? Did you hear the falling bombs? Did you ever wonder... ...why we had to run for shelter when the promise of a brave new world unfurled beneath a clear blue sky?
Flachbau
I liked the recent Hot Pursuit a lot. Graphics were incredible, and the game play was very arcade-ish but that doesn't make it a terrible game. Testarossa and LightningLord

GunWrath
Lazyboy, you're just f*cking stupid over this sh*t, period. Just shut the hell up already. All you keep throwing out there is PROGRESSION MOTHERf*ckER SOLD 11 MILLION COPIES MOTHERf*ckER Did you read anything I've posted earlier today? Let me break it down again for ya dude.. since you seem to suffer from down syndrome. Sells don't mean anything, sells doesn't dictate whether a game is good, great or the best. Like I said before, CoD Black Ops II sold a sh*t ton of copies, it still sucks ass. I can write down an entire list of games that sold a sh*t ton, but they suck ass too. Spit out numbers all you want.. doesn't mean sh*t, dude. Now let me ask, have you ever played the first NFS titles? Because I have a feeling you haven't.. or I have a feeling you're just one of those bodykit car fanboys. Saying they aren't true.. who the f*ck are you to decide what game is true to NFS? Dude, NFS through Hot Pursuit 2 DEFINE NFS and put it on the f*cking map. NFS was probably the most played game on PS1 during it's time and continues to be a favorite to many.. if I felt like plugging in my PS1, I'd do it just to play HP2, record it and post the video of it in here just for you to suffer and us real fans of NFS orgasm. Quit f*cking whining about what's true and for f*cks sake stop saying the word Progression, you're becoming mental at this point. the young hooligan
I'm interested to know if you played any of the original NFS games Lazyboy. If not, I'd consider you try and find a copy of either Hot Pursuit or High Stakes, and give them a go. Both those games, for me, sum up what Need for Speed is and what it should be. If I want progression, I'll go play Forza Horizon or Test Drive Unlimited. NFS should be about getting into fast, exotic cars that make my inner 6 year old giddy with excitement, then driving very fast around awesome tracks with dozens of cops on my tail. Guest
Wow, are you guys f*cking serious? This thread is for discussion of the PROGRESSION BASED NEED FOR SPEED GAMES. I don't care how much you like Hot Pursuit, it is NOT a PROGRESSION BASED NEED FOR SPEED GAME. It doesn't share the CUSTOMISATION. It doesn't share the same STORYLINE It doesn't share the CITY-BASED MAPS Hot Pursuit is an ENTIRELY DIFFERENT STYLE OF GAME. You might as well come in here arguing for f*cking Fifa. Let's look at things OBJECTIVELY. Your nostalgia here means f*ck all. Exotic games have a countryside map. Progression games have a city WITH a countryside around it. Exotic games have no customisation Progression games have deep customisation, Carbon and ProStreet mainly but the others have decent enough customisation. Exotic games have a few exotics. Progression games have tuners, muscle AND exotics. Exotic games have generic event after generic event Progression games have an overarching STORYLINE. UNDERGROUND IS WHAT PUT NEED FOR SPEED ON THE MAP. Quit whining. Edited August 11, 2014 by Guest

t3h PeNgU1N oF d00m
It is in my opinion that you can't have a Need For Speed thread without the original NFS or Hot Pursuits. I can't really understand why you don't want them to be discussed in this thread. You say that they aren't "true" to the series, when they made the series. Without them, we wouldn't have Underground or Most Wanted. the young hooligan
Now hang on a minute. In your first post Lazyboy, you said this thread was for discussion of the 'true' NFS games. And by your definition, 'true' means leaving out the first 6 games in the series. Yeah, righto... 98 in 1, t3h PeNgU1N oF d00m and GunWrath
Flachbau
Need For Speed General Discussion This thread is for discussion of the "true" NFS games, since there isn't a thread for it already, and it doesn't need individual threads for each game since it's not exactly popular at the moment. These are the "true" NFS games we're counting in this thread. - Need For Speed Underground - - Need For Speed Underground 2 - - Need For Speed Most Wanted '05 - - Need For Speed Carbon - - Need For Speed ProStreet - - Need For Speed Undercover - I can't believe Undercover is on this list. top kek
Guest
Quit whining. Oh, the irony. You're in a progression based NFS thread whining that your precious "drive a supercar along a straight road doing absolutely nothing unlocking absolutely nothing" games aren't being discussed in a thread based on the PROGRESSION Need for Speed games. Should I go into a Destiny thread and whine because we're not discussing the new WWE game? Exactly. Yes, Undercover is on the list. It's not high quality, but it's still a progression based NFS game. I went from a 240sx to a Bugatti Veyron. I customised all of the cars I got along the way. And you know what? I enjoyed it. If i went onto Rivals or the older NFSs you're fanboying over I'd get bored on 10 minutes. Driving a supercar... along a straight road... the straight roads you've been on the whole f*cking game.... with no traffic... no corners.... no progression.... nothing. Secura
No but it does make them part of the NFS series, general discussion means just that, general discussion, have difficulty with handling that fact? That's your problem, if the game carries the name NFS then very the title of thread says that this is the place to talk about it, stop being an annoying little elitist encourage both old and new fans to engage in interesting conversation surrounding the series. Or y'know, you can say goodbye to the thread entirely. Edited August 11, 2014 by Secura Banks., SilentSeas, Flachbau and 3 others

Guest
Secura. The thread is GENERAL NEED FOR SPEED DISCUSSION on the games I listed in the OP. The PROGRESSION NFS games. That's what the thread is for. I can't believe so many of you have a hard time grasping that concept. ^^ k Android. Mods, requesting title change to [bB] Need For Speed General The Run/HP2 do not count. Anyone who knows a thing about NFS would know NFS is hard to categorise into groups. Maybe be a little bit more understanding instead of going on a huge rage because you can't grasp a simple concept.
