Your Job Ratings

what rating do you think is acceptable for your jobs? for me anything over 80% and anything under i consider bad

if you have a poor job rating do you delete it and start again or do you just make a few changes?

Anything above 70 is prolly a good one, some of the dislikes are mostly from people who lost badly during the match anyway.

Poor rating? Depends, if it's a race, I'll delete it and never look back. Deathmatch, and I'll be on that sh*t faster than a fully modded entity playing Long Haul.

Serious answer: The ratings system as is, is wholly inadequate to make an informed judgment.

Less serious answer: Same as Dillano, probably about the 70% mark is a good cut off point to account for troll votes and so on. I also think you need a decently sized sample pool of votes before arriving at a conclusion anyway.

Depends. I only scrap a race or capture entirely (I only make those at present) under two conditions 1) I don't enjoy what I've made or 2) There doesn't appear to be any way to salvage the creation.

Only one of my creations has been remade from near scratch, but almost all of them have undergone varying amounts of rework. I feel like the latter is inevitable for anyone that remotely cares about the content they make.

most of the dislikes are from people that DNF races or lose badly! only twice have i deleted a race and started over as i feel that if i have a race thats like lower than 70% its a failure

any race thats 85% or higher im extremely happy with

i honestly couldn't care less. same goes for plays and likes. if i'm having a great time in the job i made, and my friends too, it's a job well done. everything else is just silly number-hunting imo, and is of no relevance to me. remake a job because of a "bad" rating... seriously? not tryna bitch at you here, i'm just again and again surprised what people care about in this game, when they could just be having a good time.

if no one dislikes your content its too easy i personally dont care if ppl vote when running my jobs i just care if they join when im playing it, they can thumbs down for all i car. i make creations i enjoy not everyone likes the same thing. the only time ive deleted creations is if i dont enjoy them. this game is about fun not number crunching. omg i got a dislike i better delete my favorite race

Most of my races range from around 60% to 100%. I don't remake them if I'm satisfied with them, players just have to deal with it. They are more of troll tracks involving constant trickery, using your brain, vehicular parkour and other difficult things. Most players just downvote it because they find it too difficult. Even the track I worked on the hardest and my personal favorite has 5 likes and 3 dislikes. It doesn't bother me though, I'm satisfied with my creations and I still plan to create more.

I actually don't have any race (only create races) under the rating of 80%. But yeah, if I would categorize my races as good and bad: If any future race stays at under 80% I would definitely take a look at it but as some of the previous speakers states: Pretty much every thumbs down you get is from someone that sucked and failed completely during the race.

If you put time and effort into your created content you wont have bad ratings, many people just make up crap.

i think my lowest rated race is 77%, most of my 165 created races average 90% - 95%.

Always editing and improving though until they are perfect.

^ This all the way. People that get pissed off that they don't win often dislike the job. Not saying sometimes we don't deserve a dislike now and then but don't get mad because someone is a dirty racer or because you get trolled by someone. Just "no vote".

Personally I think the 70% idea is decent. I have 80%+ on the jobs I spent time on and I've personally heard people tell me "oh this dude rammed me, I'm downvoting this".

Yeah, players usually rate the race based on their experience with it rather than how well made the track really is.

The real question should be how often do you play your jobs with randoms and how do they vote? Friends/crew/friends of crew will most probably vote like out of courtesy and message you if they think it sucks.

no offence taken, if i have a race that has a bad rating then something is obviously wrong with it so i will make changes

everyone is different

It depends, though I only delete jobs that I am not happy with but make a copy before in case I improve them some day. I make races I enjoy but I still hope that other people can enjoy them too. Sure you're going to have people that dislike a creation because they didn't do very well so I take this into consideration, if people in the top half are down voting then I will try and figure out why. The problem with a low rating is when trying to fill a public lobby but that's also down to the difficulty of getting people to play created jobs. If a R* or verified race has a low rating there are still 100,000's that have liked it and will accept an invite but with a created race that number is likely to be a few hundred if you're lucky.

I look back at one race when it had just been published, I ran it with a couple of randomers, both thumbed up at the end, one left and the other voted to replay, Just the two of us ran it the second time and again he thumbed up and voted to replay. I had been holding back in the first two races so this time I left him behind, at the end he thumbed it down and left. So if your happy with the creation and can get enough people to play it then who cares what the rating is.

"I liked the Race/DM but I hit dislike cause of my personal performance"

Heard this a few times now, a very daft reason if I ever heard one.

that you will use any chance you can get to hijack a thread with a link to your content? that you are a notorious piggybacking attention-whore? yeah, sounds kinda right.

I thought that's what the gta forums were for well at least that's what I read in the description of the page

Dang looks like I can't share my jobs on a page made for sharing jobs

you know exactly what i meant, playing dumb doesn't change that. and sure, you can share your jobs on this forum, but you know just as well as me that this here thread wasn't intended for job sharing, but for discussion on OP's subject matter, and you just sneaked your job in with no intention of participating in the actual discussion. oh, and i don't feel like giving you more of that attention you crave, so don't expect any more posts on this from me.

since your a jackass there is no way im playing your jobs and this thread was not about job sharing

tell 'em, buoy!

in regard to what you posted in reply to me, i didn't mean that i wouldn't alter my jobs, just not delete them unless something is terribly wrong from a "gameplay" point of view, and not from a popularity point of view. i constantly revise my jobs, and if just to adjust my older tracks to my present knowledge and abilities in the creator. only revising creates great jobs, especially with DMs and Captures.

maybe i take it too seriously, i started off just making races for friends then all of a sudden my plays went up a bit so people were liking my stuff, so if my races get alot of thumbs down i will make changes

i just wanted to know if anyone else does the same

Only deleted a small amount of jobs, nothing to do with ratings, purely for the fact they did not work or where past the point of being salvaged. Ignore the ratings play what is fun to you !!

yea i deleted about 1/3 of my creations recently (sometimes i just make random sht to see if it works lol) or have an idea and it doesnt turn out right, or a race doesnt flow right and cant salvage it. but i make that decision based on my opinion not whether or not its been disliked. as said before ive seen ppl like and dislike the same track because of the experience they had racing it not based on the track at all.

^ that is the problem with most people! disliking jobs because they do bad, very rarely someone dislikes when they have won a race

thought i would bump this thread to get more replies from newer creators

anyone bored of making new jobs now? i used to scan the map trying to find new places to make races but now I've lost the passion and motivation

i took my creating in a somewhat different direction lately, instead of normal deathmatches and races ive been making parkours, and skydive platforms for group proximity flying. been lighting lines down chiliad with the lighting props. been making skateparks for the bmx. just gotta stay creative otherwise it does get old as you say
