If it's gonna be "exclusive" anything, it'll be PC. Considering it will have a video editor, a simple image capture should not be an issue at all.

 

Consoles on the other hand...

 

We don't really know what will happen. I'm just hoping for something higher res with better control. It doesn't have to be a dev tool.

 

Let's say you could activate it in-game online. There's nothing to say they couldn't put the player into something like "photo mode", like passive mode except they can't be collided with (A.K.A ran over and wasted).

 

This would be incredibly easy to implement. Create snapmatic option for free cam, switches player mode to flycam, also putting them into "photo mode", a passive mode designed for this.

 

Hell, it could just be passive mode if they changed the collision damage.

I would love too see this in X1/PS4/PC Version. Its really amazing what you can do with it, sadly It would need to be SP only or as @dillono says, from previous Jobs (I cant say how that works in COD as Ive never tried it).

i think they could make a app for game consoles so you can camera edit in game

It is possible but I dont see it happening in public lobbies, cos there might be a an invincibility glitch or something unless they'll come up with the idea like a helicopter with camera or you use spectator feature from your house to take shots of friends

Well it makes the game look a lot better than it actually is, especially in that shot with the jetski, lol.

Photo Mode makes everything better. Your character could be taking a sh*t and with the right angle and filter, you can make it look badass.

i think its PC possible only...record everything in the session and replay from any angle...maybe next gen but doubt they would bother...always been a PC thing.

I don't think the devs have a photo mode; they probably just capture screenshots from the spectate mode.

I know skate 3 had a system like this. The game would record at all time and u could look at it from the past 30 minutes or something with different angles and stuff and take pictures.

Skate series (they all had the same photo mode) has a brilliant photo mode that records your last....2 minutes? You could cut it, add as many camera view point as you wanted, slow down certain sections of the clip, it was genius. Honestly the best photo mode in any game I've played. Easy to use, too.

 

lanE55 mentioned Forza Motorsport and that series also has a great photo mode where you can save a whole race as a video (at the end screen of said race) and you can use 30 second clips (if I remember correctly), upload them to the Forza servers and save them. I spent whole nights saving 30 second clips, cutting those down to 9 seconds or so and making 4 minute videos to put on Youtube. It was a pain when thinking back on it. But the photo settings made the game more realistic looking than what it was. You could tune a lot of settings to the point of Turn10 forums having dedicated photographers. That's all they did - take pictures of cars.

 

IF R* implemented a fly-around camera mode where you would need to pause your game, change setting to "Enabled" and your character is now a ghost/see-through and can't be harmed while you fly around taking pics it would be amazing. As hinted in other posts, though, I'm sure that method will spawn some sort of ghost glitch where the guy is invincible. I'd happily take ghost-killer glitch if we get a sweet camera mode that's versatile yet easy to use and WORKS.

R* gets a sh*t-ton of glitches every time a new update comes out anyway, so this wouldn't be new. I think as said before Uncharted 3 had that photo mode feature, too, where all your sessions could be looked back on and you could take highlights from anything of it. That did make the Uncharted TV spammed with kill montages, but never-the-less, was a good feature and wasn't even next-gen and holy sh*t I'm being too active in my own thread and I'm starting to look lonely.

If God damn Dragons Dogma can have a similar feature there really was no excuse on Rockstars part. My character is probably the best dressed character in any Lobby at any given time, and extremely handsome, since I made the genealogy as close to me as possible. The Noire type shots I could come up with if I could pose him and take good shots.
