Pay to Play GTA Online

Can you imagine the self entitlement if it was a paid service? I personally don't get enough pleasure from this game to pay anymore than I already have, I have dozens of games, I get a couple a month free with my PlayStation plus sub (£40 per year) so I'd have more than enough gaming to do and frankly PlayStation plus seems far better value for money than a more expensive sub for ONE game.......

lol the unfortunate xbox users have to pay for their gold membership, and you don't see their community shrinking, so I'd guess that $5 charge really wouldn't affect anyone who is still keen on playing online.

Didn't bother reading the other posts, so pardon me if this has been said, but as I see it, the issue would be that it wouldn't actually stop the glitchers, hackers or modders.

 

What would happen is that the online community would be further incensed, as they are actually paying (and who says we're not right now in some form) for a gaming service and online gaming experience that Rockstar cannot seem to be able to maintain.

Looks like OP just eats up any bullsh*t Rockstars PR team dishes out. The game play is different but it's the same game alright. With less cars on the road, less pedestrians, no animals, less missions yet everything costs 10 times as much.

If theres added stuff in the next release for xbone n ps4..... Then it is already pay to play.

 

That means, you have to buy a brand new console and another copy of the game just to get all the content that GTA V offers.

No. We Xbox users already pay for our membership and once players move to PS4, online gaming won't be free anymore. On top of that, some of us actually pay for internet service.

Dumbasslive, Teddy, Chrome...all these people are more than likely willing to P2P. With their decently sized fanbase, what makes you think all the others won't follow them and pay too? smh

as it stands, hell no!

they've made their choice with their cashcard f2p scheme and they're not getting a dime from me.

had they gone with a subscription model like you suggest I definitely would have considered

especially if all that money would go to dedicated servers instead of this weird unstable P2P sh*t we have now.

 

edit: basically their whole mentality would have to change and they'd have to act more like blizzard does with WoW instead of trying to be World of Tanks or some sh*t like that.

What does it matter? Most new games suck donkey dick anyways, old ones with replay value will still be able to be played for free. CoD: Black Ops is what, 6 years old? Still full lobbies.

What is the OP's interesting point? That it will stop glitchers and modders? No it won't. That it will stop kids from playing? No it won't. That everyone who doesn't want to spend an extra 5 dollars to play one game every month is either jobless, immature, a glitcher cheater or modder? Thats stupid.

i gotta say i've been looking over this post so far and all this just reminds my of the PS3 vs PS4 war on the crappy PS forum. if anyone even mentions the idiot idea of PS4 needing a sub whil PS3 has none they get the Sony attack dogs. but this post here proves people don't wanna pay for multiplayer and i also feel this way. you bought the game at 20-60 bucks and yet they wanna charge more to "let" you play online. x-box at least gives better service but even now i hear people complain about PS4's servers.

I would definitely consider a monthly subscription, if it gave us improved gameplay.

GTAO has to make money for it to continue and I do wonder if a subscription based system would give us a better game , rather than the one we have now, where a lot of it seems designed towards selling cash cards.

and there's one of "those people" right here. enjoy the PS4's multiplayer while i get the EXACT SAME multiplayer for free on PS3.
