Why doesnt the heavy sniper have a silencer option?

this is really dissapointing, i love the look and sound of the standard sniper silenced but it isnt a one shot kill most of the times the way my trusty heavy sniper is, do you think R will ever add this attachment in the future?

The Heavy Sniper is based off of the Barrett M82 rifle. It's a .50 Caliber...If you even attempted to put a suppressor on it, it would blow it up as soon as you fired.

I haven't gotten a one shot with the heavy sniper in ages, everyone is 100 and above with max health

Besides the fact that is a .50 Caliber weapon, it would be unbalanced on deathmatches.

Do some research before you post. Loads of .50cal weapons can have silencers, including the Barrett .50cal.

A silencer would decrease accuracy, distance, and power, but with the way they have screwed it....none of that would make a difference anyway. There is lag and latency that is intentional...there's the fog they added and reduced on foot draw distance. Sure add a silencer.. that's sure to help.

We need high explosive ammo for anti-aircraft purposes, that's what we need.

Silencers need subsonic bullets to be effective. So the impact is reduced as well. The boom you hear when guns are fired is partly from the gunpowder and partly the sonic boom as the bullet travells past the speed of sound.

 

I tried a standard bullet with a silencer last year and it made just as loud a sound as it normally would without the silencer.

.50 cal as was mentioned, and what would the point of the normal sniper rifle be if the heavy sniper could be suppressed as well?

 

Oh, and you can one-shot players with the suppressed sniper. It's called a headshot, you should try it OP.

Use Heavy Sniper to shoot out a full Dubsta 6x6 gas tank and get 6 kills with 1 bullet, Use Silenced regular Sniper to quietly take out people by aiming for headshots only. They both have a purpose.

I'd love a silencer on it. I have a silencer on a few weapons but have never even tried it on the standard sniper rifle. (I don't actually own one now as I've never seen the point after getting the heavy).

 

And for the people giving reasons why it wouldn't work (other than the sensible suggestion that it would be OP in death matches), you do know this is a computer game, right? They just change the model of the weapon so there's a silencer attached to it, change a sound file and change a couple of stats in a database. It's not *actually* a real weapon that adheres to the rules of the physical world

Since there really isn't any stealth related anything that is somewhat useful. No suppressor for the .50

The purpose of the .50 cal rifle is to be able to take your shot from such a distance and with such power, that any enemies hearing the blast only means someone's dead, somewhere.

 

BTW, to any who got a problem, I will happily pull out my SILENCED .50 cal pistol and put a full CLIP in ya damn face. .l.
