~Tiger~
Please stay on topic. This thread is entitled "Precise Reasons why GTA V is better than GTA IV" List what GTA V does better than its predecessor. Do not discuss what IV does better, because that's not what this topic is about and there is already a thread about it here. We have to be strict about this to prevent (yet another) flame-war. Andreas
This is not the V versus IV debate, as evidenced by the opening post of this topic. Keep the discussion about what V does better than its predecessor, and not vice versa. Choco Taco
Being able to carry ALL the weapons at once That's can also be a negative feature since you can't drop weapons. It's annoying cycling through the all of the weapons when you're driving.
DaCosta
Being able to carry ALL the weapons at once That's can also be a negative feature since you can't drop weapons. It's annoying cycling through the all of the weapons when you're driving. I think there is a way to drop weapons by activating the weapon wheel and pressing 'Y' (XBox) - I think that removes it from your inventory. I have the same problem with clothes though. I want to get rid of most of my wardrobe but I don't think there's a way to do it. Anyway, to keep on topic: Clothes. Better range in GTA V! Krysalis
better vehicles Better side missions better shooting sound, and effects better car effects MUCH better motorcycle driving psychics More and better melee weapons Those ones are either your opinion, or completely untrue. Better vehicles? Yeah, if you like supercars. Those are all you find in V. They are less rare because of it, too. Side missions? That's subjective, but i'd much rather have vigilante, TLaD's gang wars, TBoGT's fight club, etc. Better shooting sounds and effects? If you like your guns sounding like airsoft, then sure. Better car effects? As in damage? Absolutely incorrect. Better motorcycle physics? Haha, you can't be serious. You can barely flip and do tricks in them, they drive like they're glued to the ground and overall just not as fun as IV's. More and better melee weapons? Sure, they're are more. Doesn't really matter if the melee system sucks, which it does in V. V has good lock-on fighting, but the overall fighting system is just not as good as IV. ~Tiger~
As this topic has been slightly bumped here's a reminder: please read the OP: List what GTA V does better than its predecessor. Do not discuss what IV does better, because that's not what this topic is about and there is already a thread about it. This is not a debate. List what V does better or don't post. Geralt of Rivia
Gameplay. I think V's gameplay is leaps and bounds better than GTA IV's. Al3x_XXI
PhillBellic
An accurate fictionilisation of the 1998-2011 Ford CVPI with the Vapid Stanier Police Cruiser (2nd Gen). That is something that I do like about the game. Cheers.
Fuzzknuckles
For me, personally, in my opinion: - V's improved driving. - V's improved gunplay. - V's improved animations. - V's fantastically detailed map and landscaping. - V's improved weather effects. - V's HUGELY improved lighting system. (Possibly the most accurate lighting I've seen for an externally-based world) - V's huge range of vehicles. - V's huge range of weapons. - V's huge range of customisation options. - V's huge range of unique pedestrians. - V's speak-to-peds function - Online There's so much to love about this game, for me, personally, in my opinion. People say the controls are dumbed down, but I find them just right. Maybe that makes me a casual gamer, but my console and games collection amassed over 30+ years suggests otherwise. gizmonomono and Al3x_XXI 2 Signatures are dumb anyway. Fuzzknuckles
i seriously can't think of one thing that is better in IV than it is in V. it's just so much better in every way. I think I may be one of V's strongest supporters around here, but there are plenty of things that IV does better - mainly environmental (interiors, basically) and a few activities that would have been OK in V (the friend activities, not the omgimagangstaforrealz activities), but other than that, I feel V is superior as a game. Story wise, I really enjoyed the stories of both, though I can see why people prefer IV to V on that front - IV tells a much darker set of stories, whereas V tells a story that some can't get their heads around when held up to the context of previous games. But that's completely subjective, something a few people around here often forget. Many seem to think that their preference is global and that anyone that thinks differently is wrong. But that's besides the point. Get back on topic Fuzz. Algonquin Assassin, Gdog and The Odyssey 3 Signatures are dumb anyway.
gizmonomono
Unless someone knows what the f*ck they're actually talking about then this thread and the other one like it is purely opinion based. I liked the driving mechanics on gta4 alot more than gta5. gta5 seems like alot of the games mechanics and controls seem as if they were severely dumbed down for the stupid ass casual gamers who can't learn 2 play. Casual gamers are ruining games today because of their incompetent ability to master the game controls. f*cking dumbass' It's the number one reason games nowadays are as easy to beat as flipping a light switch. You really love talking down to people. So sad... And for someone who thinks he's smarter than everyone, you're pretty dumb. What you just said is nothing but opinion based, yet you criticize others for it.
Kampret
Me? I prefer IV myself. But obviously IV has its faults that V fixed it. -Planes. -Character customization. -Vehicle customization. -Map size. -(On last-gen consoles) Graphics. -Smoother character movement. -Smoother cover system. -Smoother weapon combat system. -Smoother auto-aim. -Weapon wheel. -Kill-marker (I loved it). Lance_Vance89
I would say everything is better with GTA V. The only thing that annoys me is that black and white blink everytime you kill someone. Al3x_XXI
