I miss picking up stuff from the ground and throwing it at NPC's faces, I once killed someone by throwing a damn empty cup.

I miss driving around in Free Mode with randoms on Friendly Fire OFF lobbies and generally customised Free Modes.

... and the motorcycle handling.

I couldn't agree less. I never traveled by motorcycle in IV because they handled like a snake having an epileptic fit. They're not much better in V, but in first-person view I can at least get around a corner now.

I miss being able to relax in the back of a cab, in first-person mode, watching the world go by.

Being able to set blips to "far" only so you knew the general location of other players but could actually sneak up or ambush them when they got close.

Being able to pick up police cars and bikes (BOGT) without necessarily getting stars or riddled with bullet holes before you had chance to roleplay.

Dodging the noose tank; it was actually fun when someone got the noose tank and we'd all try and blow him up. You could get pretty close without immediately exploding and trying to drive your mangled flaming car to cover when it took a few rounds was hilarious. Now its a case of tank = BOOM, no more car.

Really annoying a few people and having them chase you up those massive apartment buildings with like 30 floors and 10148383058 steps, for no reason at all

i miss simple options like having the ability to set up teams in team death match.... also the option to choose the weapon types, police on or off, number of players & blips on or off when starting your own free mode lobby... still trying to figure out why they axed so many good things from gta IV....

Yep, I hate when I need to make a quick getaway and the engine is off.

I miss Friendly Fire options. Turning it OFF in freemode meant you could launch players around the local area with rockets, but not killing them.

Physics baby.

We played tennis with randoms spawning in. Put a bus in the airport car park for a net.

this reminds me, the rpg another I miss

this thing we've got now just feels weak in comparison

loved how the explosions could toss your character around, f*cking action movie sh*t or something

I miss spectate the rest off the race after finishing. Why has Rockstar left that out?

Independence FM. Even though it was PC only, it should come to next gen/current gen and PC for GTA V/Online.

I have to agree with the features which you also miss; including the accessible buildings and the drive-by shooting positions. One thing I also miss -- which isn't necessarily a "feature" -- is the fact that everyone would spend their time at the airport, as it was one of the most prime locations on the map.

I suppose that wouldn't be possible now because GTA V's map is much, much larger than GTA IV's. I hope they implement some of these features, though.

I never got this fascination every1 had with the airport in gta 4

IMO it was a f*cking boring place, just an open slab of concrete with nothing much going for it, DM's there just felt a poor man's cod or something

was it the choppers or what?

anyway, give me Bohan or something over that boring place any day.

definitely one of the things I do not miss.

another thing I do miss though is recoil

the weapons now are ridiculous, none of them has any recoil at all

used to love how you could double tap the smg's for clean headshots and whatnot

now you can just spray all day without losing any accuracy

I suppose it was because it was close to the ocean, and there were helicopters available for use, as well as a car park. I used to have great fun entering the airport and sneaking into a helicopter before someone noticed me and tried to take me out. Then they would chase you around the airport, similar to a game of cat and mouse. Good times.

The driving mechanics/physics in GTA IV were also much more realistic, in my opinion. Although vehicles felt sluggish and unresponsive, driving seems too easy in GTA V, thus making driving without crashing much easier for a bunch of twelve year-olds. I miss GTA IV's vehicle destruction, as it seemed much more realistic, too.

Snake Without a Tongue

Idk if you guys realized this but in gta4 when driving the car wasn't in the center of the screen but towards the right. It allowed us to see the road more than the car. That what I missed

Yup. I miss a lot of stuff. The detailed damage, the radio playing after you get out of the car.

Every GTA seems like a trade off. Here's the new gun animations you wanted, but now your car peels apart like an orange.

GTA IV airport was much better laid out and felt like there was so much to do there. super easy access to water, helicopters, jumps, special cars, parking garage. it all felt well thought out, the one in gta v feels unorganized.

once i was in a lobby where everyone was at the airport, but mainly because there were 6 bounties there lol.

some things i miss from gta iv, was the car steering, it wasnt very snappy or agile. it was more realistic, another thing was the ability to hang onto edges, made parkouring more fun especailly with all of the fire escapes. gta iv did feel more real and alive. the interiors, especally times square. gtA V is big, but not very consistent, one moment were in the desert, then farmland, then a tiny forest, then mountains, and theyre all very compact. if they wouldve expanded the world out about 4x bigger, i think the map would have flowed better

V HoneyBadger V

I love this thread. It brings back the memories of how much fun we all had.

Here's my vote on how things should have been. This is what we needed for V/Online to make a combined best experience:

Features from IV:

- the cars

- interiors

- explosions and physics

- guns and gun sounds

- passive lobbies (you know what I mean)

- the cops (they felt relatively balanced although a bit stupid at 1 or 2 stars)

- the musical choices made. The chat radios suck in V, and IV was always hilarious.

- ability to choose weather

- minigames

- coloured blips!!! One of the biggest ones we don't have, thanks to EVERY SINGLE PLAYER in Online being a total c*nt 24/7 so we have to use mentality state and other idiotic PvP crap.

- the descriptions of how people got killed e.g. gouranga'd, f*cked up, drilled, riddled etc.

- Perfect Demolition Derby ring

- Well-designed airport

There are more that people mentioned as well.

Features from V:

- the cars

(here is what makes this game awesome)

- ability to purchase properties, cars and vehicles for Pegasus

- ability to go underwater and swim

- missions to add variety

- a much better structured matchmaking system

- graphics (duh)

- Los Santos Customs

- the driving physics, NOT the helicopter physics. Flying is OK though.

Here are the bad things about IV:

- the driving

That's it I think?

PoeticWhisper

People actually had long car chases with eachother. They actually shot back and forth and didn't end in 2 seconds cause some money glitching dickhead threw a sticky the moment he got chased. Or vise versa.

I liked being able to pick up a brick or a cig and being to conk people the f*ck off in the head with them. It was mad fun picking up a rock or something and throwing it at a cops head.
