Best GTA glitches?

polaris23

Recommended Posts

GTA has been known for some pretty awesome glitches, from glitching into buildings in GTAIII via the Super Speed code + running into car t-boning the wall to glitching into the massive hidden interior world of San Andreas.

Unintentional or not, glitches have always been part of the fun and culture behind the series. I've never had so much fun falling into blue hell and flying a chopper under the map.

What are some of your most favourite glitches throughout the GTA series and why? How did you come to find them?

GTA 4 swingset glitch, saw a video on YouTube thought it was fake so I tried it and it worked so I tested every car there.

The one which allowed you to get out of van in Vice City, in the mission which you had to kill cubans and destroy their vans with a stupid rc plane.

I had Michael fall through the map in V once. Double Patricas had spawned in Sandy Shores, and when I tried to take a picture of them, Michael screamed and fell through the map, complete with ragdoll effects.

I've seen the 'see inside character's heads' glitch in IV a few times.

There was another odd glitch in IV that I experienced, at least I think it was a glitch. I took Little Jacob on a bro date, and was in the process of bringing him back to his apartment. Out of nowhere, he suddenly punched Niko in the face, kicked him out of the car and slid into the driver's seat.

I have the fondest memories of all the best glitches from III. Another favourite was parking your car on the elevated train tracks, waiting to get hit by the train and being catapulted across Portland into Staunton Island. I believe this triggered the insane jump videos on YouTube.

Yes but I meant your favourite glitches that brought more fun to the game, like glitch tricking the game into keeping a bullet proof Cheetah by pushing it to your garage. Genius.

I still remember being a regular on the GameFAQs boards when the Ghost Town was found during the prime of GTA3. It was glorious yet equally frustrating because of having to fly the dodo. However, this made the journey all the more rewarding.

Then it was about trying to get to hard to reach places (such as the rooftops of Kenji's casino, Love Media building, police HQ, Panlantic cut scene area, etc.) Using the tank with its turret firing backwards to gain immense speed and flight.

Ah, so many favourites in that classic game.

One of best glitches, was the one which let us go to North Yankton in GTA Online.

I actually played GTAO just because of that lovely glitch.

Lethal Vaccine

Probably the "Crusher Glitch" which was present in GTA III and LCS. When you used the Crusher on a vehicle in a particular way, it changed the vehicle into a Ghost. You could drive through walls, fall into Blue Hell, drive through other cars, peds, etc...It made you a Ghost. It also made your vehicle "grow" in size until it became massively big and much larger than an ordinary vehicle.

Best of all, after you perform the Crusher Glitch and put the vehicle back into your garage, it automatically becomes DP. DP = Damage Proof. Damage Proof means no matter how many crashes you have, the car will NOT dent and get banged up from crashing at all. It's completely "invincible" from collisions.

This is the best glitch, because I am a Proof Vehicle Collector, and the Crusher Glitch was legendary for a few years now with adding the DP property to vehicles, with other properties like BP, EP, or FP (Bullet Proof, Explosion Proof, Fire Proof), etc...

Also another cool glitch is the Girlfriend Glitch in GTA IV. You can convert any vehicle, including helicopters to BP/DP/EP/FP vehicles, or AP (All Proof) vehicles. Made the game VERY fun for police chases.

I really wish I would've been there to experience this glitch before it got patched. I missed the entire thing! But from the looks of it, it was pretty amazing. The journey from wanting to explore NY to finally getting there must have been so rewarding.

Militia, I had no idea about the GTA3 crusher glitch! Wow, I thought I had heard and seen them all. I love how that game kept us endlessly entertained with crazy glitches. I have to wonder just how people found them.

Yeah, the glitch has been around for quite some time now, but it's still fairly recent when it was discovered.

I've got some amazing game saves with a vehicle collection and having this glitch made some of the proof vehicles THAT much better than they were originally. Or it made fully AP vehicles. Like if a vehicle is already BP/EP/FP, if you use the Crusher to make it DP, now you have a BP/DP/EP/FP vehicle, which is AP (All Proof). Before the Crusher Glitch was found, GTA III only had ONE AP vehicle in the entire game, now you can have a total of 3 because of two BP/EP/FP vehicles which when used with the Crusher, can be converted to DP, thus turning them into AP vehicles as well. In LCS, there was also only ONE AP vehicle in the game, but because of the Crusher Glitch, now there is 13 total AP vehicles in LCS. It's amazing! :)

I remember a glitch in VC, you need to be standing next to a car and put in the explode all cars cheat, and get in at the same time. Now you have a proof car.

I don't use cheats ^^^^

But what is the proofings on it?

I know in SA, there is something similar, you can get BP/EP/FP vehicles with the use of a cheat, and then deactivating the cheat, which will make it proofed...But since I don't use cheats, I don't do this, of course.

Swingset Glitch.

It's even better when extra large vehicles are used, the entire swingset glitches out.

In Vice City, if you entered the big wheels cheat multiple times, certain cars would get the ability to plow through traffic and destroy other cars.

skip to 4 minutes...

@Choco Taco, it appears with that Glitch in Vice City, the vehicle turns into a "H Vehicle." H means Heavy properties. You can obtain vehicles in this form legit, but it's only in LCS and VCS. That's incredible it can be like that in VC, too, but you stated that you need to use cheats to get these. I don't like cheats, but you can obtain them legit in LCS and VCS and keep the properties saved in your garages, etc...

Territory glitch in GTA San Andreas. It must have been real surprise for the guy who suddenly spotted that whole San Andreas is covered with gang territories.

This is the original topic, if anyone is interested.

http://gtaforums.com/topic/161643-territory-glitch/

I never knew about this one! Thanks for providing the link to the original founding topic. I read the first couple of pages and skipped to the very last page. I always love seeing the origin of something as it takes shape and becomes this huge phenomenon. That topic was filled with spammers by the end because of how popular it got. Incredible.

This is hilarious, especially with Michael's beard.

I just wanna say Militia that I admire your ''no cheats'' moral code. It's refreshing. I also love that you're a 'proof' vehicle collector. My first GTA was III and I fell in love with the idea of cleverly achieving proof vehicles by glitching or tricking the system. My favourite back then was the bulletproof Cheetah. It's really a shame I can't do the same with the new games.

Hmmm nice bike

I know, from start to finish, it looks like he goes from recording their conversation to blowing off and ignoring Solomon to read an email to recording a Vine.

The Harwood Bitcher

Playing gta 5, i roadkilled a granny and she became stuck in my car

I drive around with the possesed bitch f*cking the side of the wheel of my bodhi (5 minutes) and ...BAM!!

the car goes beserk and starts flying hitting buildings eveywhere!!

Finally explodes when the roof crashes one of those indestructibles wood lamposts

I dont know how to explain it, but is like the driving mechanics were replaced by a 4 year old playing with his hot wheels

The god of cars was displeased with me

Lol, I had something similar happen to me. I had a lamppost stuck in the wheel and got tossed into the air.

GTAO: Gotta love a shop's opening doors launching cars into the air to the point of wrecking them when another player walks out of it.

Carryover glitch in the mission Up, Up and Away.

You must be dating Katie Zahn for this glitch to occur. In the mission, when you arrive on the roof and take control of the mini-gun, you can have unlimited ammo, onwards for the entire game, and before 100% completion by simply dying *while* in control of the mini-gun.

Quite interesting, but opportunity comes near the end of the game, thus not worth it.

Still just for the topic.
