Freezes when I press Play...

GTA2 was working before. But after my controller malfunctioning (randomly unplugging and plugging back in, and eventually giving me a BSOD), it started to not work anymore. Every time I press play, the game freezes, making it unplayable.

 

Stuff I've tried:

Windows XP/2000 Compatibility Mode

Run as Admin

Reinstalling GTA2

 

I'm getting so pissed off at this. Can anyone please help me?
