Before I go on, I'd like to say that I don't think the music in GTA 3 is bad but I always thought, what if it actually got hits from 2001 and before. What songs woulf you have want to see?

Hmmm nice bike

This one is already in GTA V, but it reminded me of something you'd hear on Lips 106 or Head Radio. If they used real pop music from the late 90s/early 00s, we probably would have heard it on one of them.

It actually kinda sounds like "

" if it was sung by the woman who sang "
." It wouldn't surprise me if "Pure Shores" served as an inspiration for one of those tracks and they remembered and decided to include it in V.

If that were the case, I would light myself on fire in a Circle K parking lot

But yeah, I get what you're getting at but part of the "charm" for III with me is the custom soundtrack. You got house-made pop music, I believe some songs on rise fm were done for the game, and so on. I enjoyed how they carried that over to LCS rather than licensing music from that era, like what VC and SA did.

Darude - Sandstorm

Putting that song in the custom radio station in the PC version makes a lot of the missions seem much more insane when it kicks on.

I'd love the full MS 01.1 mix on MSX FM. The best tunes (One Day, Imagination, Crystal) didn't appear. Shame ;_;

I like it, but it's annoying when it fills entire comment sections.

I could go on, but then this post would go on forever. I love that era in pop music. <3

Oh, and if Vice City had been set in the late 90s/early 00s...

Sheryl Crow - All I Wanna' Do

And finally, from a lesser known band that only ever put out one album, but I think it kind of fits GTA III era LC.

I enjoy that joke, but mostly because of how angry it makes some people. For such a harmless, somewhat enjoyable tune it can cause a lot of chaos. :p

I love the soundtrack from GTA III, there would be no point wanting to change it.

I used to play Liberty City Stories with a custom soundtrack on the PSP. Alice in Chains was the main artist I played.

I love most of the music in GTA 3, and it's got a definite nostalgia factor. Sometimes I would just park a BF Injection on top of the hill next to the planetarium overlooking the city and listen to Double Clef. I had a lot of time to waste in those days and did it well.

If there were a new soundtrack, I'd want new graphics too. That's too much to ask, I know.

Add Darude - Sandstorm and X-Files OST. (A.k.a Illuminati song) other than that, music was flawless. Just like Vice City. I listen to those Radio Stations while playing SA or when doing idk.

Lock n' Stock

A couple more Scarface tunes for Flashback FM, and a extra Moroder-produced Berlin song that sounds suspiciously similar.

As much as I hate Sandstorm, it would actually fit Rise FM, what with it being trance and all.

This might fit too, I dunno. It's more house than trance, though.

I would also keep the original soundtrack over something different. It just worked so well.

All the songs in Game Radio were up-to-date songs that we're being played out in the streets at that time. But most of 'em were from between 1999-2000. Also you have to think about it, at the time Rockstar was developing GTA III, they most likely couldn't afford the licenses for the hit songs from 2000 and 2001. That's why some songs in the game were made up as well. Most likely after the major sales they made with GTA III, they had enough money to buy great tracks for Vice City.

Looks like I'm having one of those Flashback Flashback Flashbacks!

Oh, and I think Rockstar struck a deal with Sony after III. Vice City had MJ and great rock hits that they owned and they got them for free.

I feel that it doesn't need new music, furthermore it would wreck the games atmosphere.

If however I was to add new music it would need 'Back to The Streets' by Tom Novy re added and that cut Lips 106 song used in an interlude.

I love the original soundtrack but if the game was made in 2014 I think that 2 of the radio stations would be like:

RISE FM - ASOT mix by Armin Van Buuren

MSX FM - Drum & Bass mix by the one and only Andy C (hosted by MC GQ)

Sunrise Driver

I've added some music to my MP3 folder which expands game radio:

The rest 5 tracks from Scientist's 1981 album "Scientist rids..." (first and best 5 are on K Jah)

Some D&B tracks from Moving Shadow label

Marydancin - Wash Him Off (yeah, that one that supposed to be)

Amy Holland - Turn Out The Light (from Scarface OST)

MSX FM - Drum & Bass mix by the one and only Andy C (hosted by MC GQ)

In oder to be called MSX, Andy C must play Moving Shadow label music.

Yes, you're right :) So in my case the radio should be called RAM FM

Mudshovel by Staind. I've always hated the fact that there's no rock in GTA III.

I can't imagine this game with a different soundtrack. I wish they'd make all of the music available for download.

being honest, it think this game has the worst soundtrack,it could use a bit of rock, i read that Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap was planned to appear in the game, although i don't know where because there's no rock station and it wouldn't fit at all in Flashback FM.
