BadgerMilk Posted January 6, 2003 Share Posted January 6, 2003 Many people have posted "where should the next GTA game take place" and most people either say San Francisco or Las Vegas. It's pretty much guaranteed that in GTA4 the city will be called San Andreas and will be based on San Francisco, so I'm going to post my idea of where GTA5 should take place (If someone already mentioned this city I'm sorry. I don't read most of the city idea posts.). GTA5 should take place in........Detroit! Please don't laugh at me for thinking Detroit would be a good place for a GTA game. Just think about it for a minute. Detroit is a city that has one of the biggest problems with gang related crime in the country. Also the city's nickname is the "motor city" which means it's a city in which cars are more abundant than most cities. More cars and more crime is what was lacking in vice. aggressor27 Posted January 6, 2003 Share Posted January 6, 2003 BadgerMilk, I know you're dead set on Detroit as the city, as I've read in your previous posts, but i'm not sure how R* would discern Detroit from Liberty city, besides the bridges, of course. Both cities look about the same to me, landscape of the city wise, although I'm sure anyone from either would say otherwise. San Andreas is more likely, btu I heard an excellent idea from someone, and I am disappointed because I can't remeber who it was to give credit too, but 3 cities, take a plane to either. I think the next GTA should be set far into the future in some highly over populated place. And you have hover cars that fly in the air, and you can have futeristic weapons. Phil Ca$$idy Posted January 6, 2003 Share Posted January 6, 2003 GTA-NEWCASTLE Why not? if your not familiar with Newcastle it's a city in the NorthEast of England. ok, yeah, im live close to the city but it would be PERFECT. It has: -Its own Metro system: -Top runner for the europian capital of culture -Nice scenery -GEORDIES (ask sum1 from the UK) -The river tyne has a 'once huge shipping industry' (now on the rise again). -It has its own International airport. and one more thing that isn't good for the city itself but would be good for the game... Althogh minor crime is decreasing major crime is on the increase. Gangs are springing up from allover the city and 'organised crime' is at its highest. Also drug dealers are praying on the party-going public. Theres MANY clubs in Newcastle and so hundreds of drug related crimes. If you own(ed) Driver2 you may know that Newcastle appeared in the game (a cheat code unlocked a carchase movie). The makers of the game (based in Newcastle) did plan 2 make a future Driver game using the city of Newcastle but it never happened. I dont think an actual map of Newcastle would be so great but a city based on Newcastle would be perfect. If not Newcastle why not Glasgow in scotland (for mostly the same reasons)? Anyone name a feature which is memorable in newcastle, anyways you can get immigrant geordies in london if u want them so much. Anyway who would want to come to our dreary little country anyway, no real way to seal off the map and the CPU would be munched up by the sheer volume of rain and gloom. Anyway people born outside the M25 are part of the barbarian hoards, that goes double for Wales. Moscow would be cool, slippery roads and tank chases...
