What are the PROS and CONS of the digital version?

I'm planning to get the digital version of GTA5

I can think of a few:

PROS:

- Don't have to change discs

- Don't have to go somewhere to buy a copy

- Doesn't break like a disc

CONS:

- Subject to DRM

- Probably takes up more HDD space

- Can't let friends borrow it

I guess the Main Pro is if you irreparably damage a Disc you need to purchase the game again; however if you got cheap Insurance for the Disc and only damage it in a way that is covered then this could be a small cost for having a physical copy.. .Digital Copy is sort of inbuilt insurance. Also I am led to believe you can play more smoothly using a Disc/HDD in combination if the Developer has set things up nicely...

On the PC side, surely playing off a SSD with a Digital Copy would be just as good or better than using a HD Disc...

You don't have a disc

I sold the disc, cause my blu raydrive doesn't work anymore

Pro: No disc so no temptation to sell it.

Con: Xbox and Sony don't refund Digital games

You lose your account, you lose the game.

Takes up 8 GB for game, 8 GB just with the installation. So 16GB

I have digital and I seem to have more problems with it than the disc.

The only advantage I see as a console player is the ability to gameshare.

I bought the digital version of gta IV, had more problems with that than I've ever had with a disc. Never bought a digital copy again.

My assumption, like most, was that a digital version could not be corrupted (scratch, break, etc.).

Just sharing my experience, not sure how common that is to happen though,

I already Updated my PS3 firmware to 4.60

is that legal to do it?

Well... in that case, a major benefit of the digital version is you can play it. If you like that sort of thing.

It is on PS3 (or at least it was originally intended before they cut down the amount of holders of the account from 4 to 2). From what I remember, there's no rule that explicitly states that you can't share your account with friends and family.

Can I transfer my entire GTA5 game to PS4 then?

Not sure, I think you would have to re-buy it in PS4 format since technically they're two different games (spec wise).

What about a $20 dollar discount? Since you bought a $60 dollar from PS3. How about $40 dollars for PS4?

Rockstar? Discounts?

Lol nope. I'd get a PS4 and go for the disc. It'll run a lot better

I believe that's a Gamestop offer only and you have to trade in your game I believe or have a recite

For the most part the same. I don't have a plasma. I can't tell the difference on my tv but they might be able to
