Since there is Falcon, which gets destroyed and tanker I'm guessing it's either reboot or remake of Road Warrior. Thankfully Miller can get it right and they will make bloody movie without too much CGI. Homage to original "real" Mad Maxes would be neat. From what I understand, it takes place in the time between Mad Max and Road Warrior. So, same character and universe, different story entirely - so no remake or reboot (plus I don't think George Miller would remake his own f*cking movie). Problem is that all this trailer screams Road Warrior for me (destruction of the Falcon, man being carried on the front of the car, tanker chase, etc.), hence the question. If it's really a movie taking place between first and second part I guess there won't be much continuity with the rest of the series. Saw loads of that, even saw a reviewer 'joke' about it being another Purge film and then go on to say she's never seen the old films. It's not hard for someone to just take 120minutes out of their day and watch The Road Warrior and go educate themselves that this is one of the pioneering franchises of its genre, and one that's aged incredibly well. Richard Power Colt Posted April 1, 2015 Share Posted April 1, 2015 (edited) This is my most anticipated movie of the year. I like these kinds of self-aware crazy over the top films. Miller also said that more than 80% of the effects will be practical(but there is some noticeable CGI for landscape things and stuff) so that's pretty good. Hopefully the trailers haven't spoiled all the best moments yet. Apparently most of the movie will be during the chase so quite possibly we're still gonna see more than a few surprises. In terms of just action and excitement, this'll probably beat the originals. I guess it won't have the low-budget aussie charm, but that is not a huge issue for me personally. Oh and it's also rated R. Hopefully that means they won't back down from going a bit brutal. Most remakes aren't that great but I'm going to try keep an open-mind. It's gonna feel a bit different. But idk there might be some contradictions with the originals too idk. Also Rottentomatoes has 30 reviews for it already and a consensus it seems. And it doesn't sound like it's gonna disappoint : http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/mad_max_fury_road/ Hopefully this will raise the bar for action movies in the future and encourage more film makers to use practical effects for their action sequences.
