2 things to think of.

Majority of the content owners didn't actually buy the editions. It was gotten mostly by people in the DNS days as some unlocked the content. So what's the point in that "we paid x amount" argument when many more got it free?

The Xbox One, PS4 and PC editions are coming soon. They haven't announced any editions for them and the release is a few months away at best and November at worse. The content will likely be DLC on those platforms that is if they don't come for the game by default which is much more likely to drive sales.

They took away the CE cars that were glitched into garages a long time ago. I'm pretty sure only CE players have them now.

But it was fun while it lasted!

The DNS method was more permanent.

TBH, if you paid $150 principally for three extra vehicles and two extra weapons then I think you were ripped off regardless.

Well said. No one even drives the Collectors Edition cars anyway, I've literally never seen anyone with them since day 1 of online. Unless it's like that thing on Forza where you can't see the actual DLC car if you don't have that DLC. It's just like a pure black normal car.

I personally think we should be able to buy it as DLC one day. People really can't moan. It's just like me buying a game for £50 on release day then the next year someone goes out and buys it for £20. And what about people who spend hundreds on cash cards? I bet some people spend a lot on them and they won't get the Collectors Edition stuff.

150$ is a lot of money to piss away on a game. Period. If you have that kind of money to blow on bullsh*t, more power to ya, but you're not special.

Because just cause some people cheated and got the DLC, doesn't mean it should be available to everyone. It's not like that was intended to happen.

Remember they could take the destiny route an never release it unless you pay for the ce.

Look at destiny ce dlc ship, armor, guns, emblem or for the limited, digital, ghost editions.

Holy sh*t the CE owners in this thread are f*cking whiners. "Muh content"

Holy p00p the people who want all for themselves! o_O

"Those guys paid for extra stuff, I WANTS IT!!"

When you grow up, you'll learn that there always will be people who will have stuff you don't. And that's how it works.

You can't get everything, no matter how much you cry and try to guilt those who has it. ;)

I wouldn't mind not having them if they weren't constantly in sight at legendary motorsport

R* should either let us have them or take them out of our sight. The guns aren't constantly in your vision every time you go to ammunation,so why should we have to see the cars "out of stock" just remove them from LM for non CE owners or let us buy CE dlc

OP you can come over and look at my Hotknife anytime you want. Never know I might just even let you drive it around the block a few times.

If people are going to pay the difference (at a minimum) between the "standard version" & the Collector's Edition, I really can't see an issue. Availability (legally) is the only thing that has stopped me from getting the CE... not money (run two ps3's in the house so I'd need two copies). Not everyone held out because of the price... some of us just missed out due to stock availability &/or only being fairly new to GTA. It's a Collector's Edition, not Limited Edition... never to be seen in stores again.

I'd probably purchase the complete CE (as opposed to just the DLC content), if R* re-released it, for both of my consoles. The people who got it originally are no worse off... R* has withheld their end... those who want it but missed the boat have it (at the same or slightly elevated price)... everyone's happy.

The "I have it... you want it... get stuffed" attitude of some gamers sux (you can pick the fifteen year olds that's for sure...!).

Greed... one of the seven deadly sins.

ten-a-penny

Sp dlc with CE cars for so and online but make it paid like 20$ or something.

The CE is crazy expensive, all I want are the vehicles not the hat and all that stuff.

This is what I've been saying ever since my very first post.

In-game purchase for SP, Real-Money purchase for online. $10-30 Once you bought it [sP] its always available in the player's secondary garage. Just like DLC vehicles.

BTW, I'm not sure if my question suits in the Q&A thread, but I have a code thing when I first purchased the game. I can't enter it thanks to Playf*ckingNetwork that doesn't support my country. What does this code give me? It has the Blimp pic on the back :/

I've heard they all drive like crap, but I love the way the cars look especially the Hotknife since I love those old dragsters.

Digital posession equals to physical posession in most of the developed countries.
Thus; Exclusive digital content is equal to the physical stuff given with SE/CE.

Also, like I've said earlier: When you grow up, you'll learn that there's always someone who posess more than you.

And no amount of crying, whining or raging will change that.

Give it up.

I believe that would give you access to the atomic blimp. I've heard it's crap, too. don't feel bad, i had the same code and never even used it! (code is long gone now)

This probably hints out on a upcoming release for the CE content , might still be on the LM website for a reason

As a CE owner, I honestly wouldn't mind. The cars and motorcycle aren't that great, they look cool, but they really aren't that great to drive.

Absolutely no! People who have that edition paid a lot of money to get it. Those who didn't want to pay that price shouldn't get those items, simple.

Not so sure on that.. have you seen the traction rating on the Khamelion? I modded one to the max last night and it's like driving on rails.. metallic black with dark blue pearlescence and electrically silent sexy rails..

and the Carbon RS isn't that bad a bike either..

bear in mind these things are also free to buy in game too - excellent for 2nd characters, multiple accounts (especially since the CE stuff code it hardware based...)

Maybe so, and it looks fantastic but I couldn't get c.e. For ps3 at launch, and I can't justify the cost now - I want some IRL alloys for my Jag :-)

I have CE, the CE content is crap for what you paid for. I think everyone should be able to get it, not for free though. Maybe £5-£15

I want the Khamellion

yeah even it's stats aren't that good - i would love to have one again...

while the website-glitch was possible, it was my daily ride.

i somehow like its shape – perfect mix of sporty and classic look ^^

I hate how people forget the physical content. If you sum up the price based on prizes of similar items from Rockstar's store and amazon, you likely get around 150$. The shirt, cap, map and bag are the meat of the deal. You paid for the physical content and the digital bonuses are just that.

Also I remember making a post about this. Don't care as much about the content as I did because I tired the weapons and was disappointed but migh points some points. On the poll to that thread it proposed 5$-20$ as a price. 5$ had most votes, 20$ second and 10$ last but I thought 10$ was the best price. Currently I think bundled with the 10$ - 100$ cash cards but I am certain the next generation release will also bring all content.

My post was: http://gtaforums.com/topic/693972-collectors-edition-content-as-dlc/

and everything below this v

So pre-orders, pre-order content and disk-locked content are bad. Microstransactions tend to be recieved similarly and this is kinda like it but 1 bad is better than 4 bads.

So I think Collector's, Limited and Pre-Order bonuses should be downloadable content. All 3 in one package buyable in the in-game store, Xbox Marketplace or Playstation store. This would help late buyers, used game buyers, downloaded copies, and will probably this way in Steam. When/if it comes out on PC, It will likely come in 2 versions, Standard and Digital Deluxe like most other games with special editions on PC.

To add more points to my cause:

The Collector's Edition is not in limited supply. At first I was taking the word of a few poster's here on that fact but checked a bit myself, found a few online and at a local Sears, At a reduced price even. Would buy if...

Collector's Edition is not worth it. Even if I was just buying it before owning my own copy GTA V, GTA V's Collector's Edition just doesn't stand up against any recent Collector's Edition. Look at Fallout 3 and New Vegas Editions, They had 100 page artbooks, "Making Of" documentaries, a bobblehead and lunchbox, casino chips, playing cards from the game as replica-ish real life items. Assassin's Creed 2, Halo Reach, Titanfall, Halo 3, Borderlands 2. If you look the Collector's Edition for these games you will find great deals and something worth having. I wanted to link each but since on Xbox Internet, can't really. I'd welcome someone posting a link to each or any other example. GTA 5, not so much. Here's what GTA 5 gets you though if it links right: gta.wikia.com/grand_theft_auto_v/editions

It would be beneficial for the publisher and developers. By releasing the content, they would make potential profit on every GTA copy out there, be it new, digital, used and even pirated. All without having to spend money actually having to develop new content.

While this clashes with the last point, it is not very hard to get the same content by illigitimate means. Not going into details since not sure how forum rules stand by this. Just few examples: DNS users have the content, glitches, importing the file with Horizon, IOS and ROM hacks.

Like I already stated, It will most likely be this way in PC. The content probably will be DLC, a Digital Deluxe edition or won't be locked away at all, standard for every player. Anyone who bought the game digitaly in XBL or PSN has no way of getting the content, being punished for buying it digitaly which is usually superior to fisical copies. Some players have no choice and have to buy digitally because of hardware failure or copies not being available.

Pre-order and Disk locked content is anti-consumer. It is a hook to make the consumer pay at release for new copies as fast as possible while also making you pay extra for content locked out of normal use. Exclusive content is only tasteful when it doesn't affect the core game. Halo Reach had a nice exclusive, special armor permutation, your helmet had fire. You aren't missing anything from the core game and it doesnt change the game at all. Bad examples of exclusive content are Mass Effect (or every EA special Edition) and Elder Scrolls Online. Mass Effect had a major plot point of the game, the last member of an extinct race, as pre-order. Mass Effect and many EA titles let you start out with exclusive and overpowered armor at the start of the game. In Elder Scrolls Online, the option to choose any army no matter of race is available if you pre-order, completely voiding an important point in the war and race choice. It also locks a complete race, armor and several items behind the collectors edition. These bad examples have been critizised by their each community. While GTA V's disk locked content is not as serious, it is still unobtainable when already in the disk.

We Are Ninja

Yes. By people that actually sprung for the CE... If R* rewards people for buying the CE with exclusive content, then gives to every one later, when GTA6 drops, people will save the additional $90 and get the CE content when it's released as DLC...
