Does SA have the most unrealistic missions ever?

I always saw GTA San Andreas as the Nirvana of video gaming. Nirvana thought of music more than lyrics.

I strongly felt that the story was equally good and was the backbone, aimed at making the game really interesting. It worked really well to "make sense within the world and where you are in the story".

For me SA is an incomplete experience without the story. It was the characters, the writing, and their many stories combined together that defined the many moments, the gameplay and the game world itself!!

SA story was good as well as the gameplay.

As for the topic, SA has the most fun filled and entertaining missions ever. That's my opinion. Yes, it has some stretched out aspects but really I never thought about them as a big deal. It isn't game breaker nor immersion killer for me, so yeah, its cool.

ten-a-penny

It's Area 69, not Area 51. So no, Area 69 shouldn't necessarily be hard to break into.

I think few people here understand the concept of fiction...

But, isn't Area 69 is based on Area 51?

Area 69 is physically based on Area 51, but you won't get ambushed by the army if you trespass it, just by some country cops and the FBI if you let them get close enough

It's not a real life simulator. It's a video game. I mean come on, have you ever heard of a street gangster blowing up vehicles with an arsenal of full-blown WWII weapons and killing 40 people with a dildo?

No. GTA V has to be the most unrealistic in mission design, the ways they force the player to not leave the mission areas, tightly controlled character switching scenarios with less freedom to experiment, and heavily scripted and linear in its execution.

Even the three protags have special abilities that quite clearly kill the immersion more than any GTA protag to date. Furthermore, the animals in GTA V are somehow able to alert the cops even when using stealth..wtf?

The game world seems designed to make me feel like they really dislike me for doing fun things and there is always a threat of cops being called and shooting at me anytime with death in coming for everything I do.

The wanted system and the paranoid peds in V are so horribly unrealistic in their behaviors than any GTA to date.

You can't access certain interiors which have been staple in the series.

The amount of weapons the player can carry are not even allowed to drop them, really? What a joke?

There are a lot of things in GTA V that when looked upon with close scrutiny towards the open world design and how hard they try to FAKE IT leaves no doubt on my mind that how unrealistic and lifeless the world seems to be.

GTA SA still had a lot of things that gave the game a lot of realistic feel even with multiple stretched out aspects of the missions. How believeable many of those things appear to be full of amazing quality in building a strong immersion, and soul.

Quite simply, GTA SA ROCKS!!! :^:

In terms of realism (storywise):

GTA III - 8/10 (Although there's some strange "coincidences", I can picture the events happening in real life)

GTA Vice City - 7/10 (Too much Scarface and badassery on Tommy's part)

GTA San Andreas - 4/10 (Where do I start. A young boy from the ghetto suddenly turning into Rambo?)

GTA IV - 10/10 (I can actually picture the events happening in real life - brilliantly written and realistic at the same time)

GTA IV: TLAD - 9/10 (Although an unlikely one, it's still a pretty realistic story)

GTA IV: TBoGT - 6/10 (Not nearly as realistic as its counterparts)

GTA V - 5/10 (Too much "coincidences" and superpowers in one place)

I'm going to pick 'Green Goo'. :p

Seriously, The Early Missions would be the most obvious. :)

King In Exile - People get angry all the time

Fish In A Barrel - Signing contracts is common

Tagging Up Turf - Graffiti isn't uncommon

Verdant Medows - Buying an airstrip isn't uncommon, unless you can't afford it

Cesar Vialpando - Car meets aren't that uncommon

Wear Flowers In Your Hair - Just driving around the city, like everyone else

"Riot" mission is like based on 1990s Riot that was happened on Los Angeles (Original name for Los Santos)

(Sorry, I don't know much about this event. I just got it from GTA Series facts by 10Everyone in YouTube)

(I like games with things that were from real life events and stuffs)

I think "are you going to san fierro" is pretty realistic, too.

Define realistic in terms of video games. That word is thrown around so much nowadays with this new generation of gamers.

Anything that can actually happen IRL.

Are you going to San Fierro? => Moving from a place to another is totally normal.

You can imaging all missions are realist, Just roleplay like you doing it in Real Life. Don't use cheat, Don't use anything that you cannot do in real life, and one time you can feel that those missions are realist

Isn't "Wear Flowers in Your Hair" only driving and picking up friends? I've done that.

This.

The day I need a dose of realism in GTA is the day I stop being creative and spontaneous and start throwing away every damn fun aspect of sandbox enjoyment out of the game.

That day was the day when I played GTA IV.

For the topic, I am not sure about any particular mission which meets the requirements set in the OP, since every mission is more or less a mix of both realistic concept wise but quite unrealistic in practice ( gameplay wise ).

Every mission is unrealistic because of the standards. Cars never went out of gasolie, CJ can walk for forever, you can run with a RPG without anybody giving a f*ck and traffic rules seems to be compulsory

This is why SA stayed in my heart even after all these years. My 13 yo creativity made me play the sh*t out of the game. Not even Doom or Skyrim (even though the latter is an RPG game... :rol:) gave me such fun or anything.

Too bad my imagination retired. Else I would play Skyrim non-stop seeing as its a RPG game.

What you said is similar to what i always say . the day gta forgets its a video game is the day I loose love for the franchise. This generation is spoiled by graphics and detail that they expect realism in damn near every aspect. The 3dera games didn't have that but they had it where it counts and that's immersion and fun. I'll take good gameplay over eye candy anyday. I love the whimsical take San Andreas had. Cj took time to be human and crack a joke or two or laugh at a busta instead of moping about his dead mom throughout the whole game. Of course he was hurt abou it although he didn't show it because he was about getting down to business and finding out who killed his mom and then crying later that's how gangstas move. He cared you can tell because he constantly brought up the subject during conversations with big smoke. Look at how he reacted when he found out smoke and ryder was a part of the plot.He cares about his family and friends how many times has he saved sweet? He even killed for kendl. Yet critics claim Carl shows no emotion.what this thing with emotions anyway? I think some of you guys are emos and you need to go and cut yourselves.

Another thing critics complain about is the direction the story goes with Carl being exhiled and how it takes focus off off the gang warfare.I think if the game was 92 missions of gang shootouts it would've gotten repetitive. What's wrong with a little adventure? Those exhile missions where fun but critics claim missions like body harvest were over the top for the sake of being over the top when what those missions did was bring variety in game play add to the fact that they gave us new gang enemies like the Vietnamese da nang boys and the San fierro riffa. Critics say Carl is overrated but I think he his a fun character matter of fact the most fun gta character to play as imo.

Lastly critics often don't like whimsical side characters like og loc but I think they make the game great also and adds humor too the story. And if you are going to talk realism and likely hood well yeah there really are people like og loc. They are what law enforcement refer to as peripherals which are wannabe friends of gangsters I.e a perpertratin' busta. So in a way of og loc holds a mirror up to society. I also find the truth , zero and wu zi mu likely because I don't view gta games from a realistic stand point I look at them like an 80s action movie. That's how how i look at all gta games including Gta4 no matter how serious the story is and in that same way gta v should never be taken seriously after call the game is set in Hollywood and the main protagonist an action movie buff. So when playing gta games just like with action movies you should just turn off your brain suspend your disbelief and enjoy the ride.

i think i'll play along anyway. i find drive thru to be realistic because being a portly gentlman myself i don't find it far fetched to order two number 9's a number 9 large a number 6 with extra dip two number 45's one with extra cheese and a large soda
