Does SA have the most unrealistic missions ever?

I think it does have the highest number of unbeliavebly unrealistic missions out of all GTA series.

I know it`s a GTA and it shouldn`t have too much of realism at all but breaking into the area 51 (69 ingame) ? I mean come on in real life you can`t get even near that place without being legaly shot at.

I would expect at least 10% of real life realism, but many of SA`s missions has 0% of that.

 

Stealing an alien blood which has been taken on train at 20 mph in a f*cking jar? Give me a break.

Not to mention the freefall mission which contradics any gravity law. I mean R* should at least try to make it a little bit more realistic.

Or those weekend soldiers in that mission you do for ryder, i`ve never seen soldiers equiped with 9 mm pistol only.

 

I brought this up because i started to play SA again yesterday and i just can`t f*cking believe the insanity of some missions after i`ve played HD era for so long. Before that i didn`t even bother with that, because it`s fun, the game is funny and still interesting untill these days but some of the things are just insane.

It doesn`t have to be anything like real life is, that wouldn even be playable, just imagine you crash your car at 25 mph and you brake your f*cking neck, you became an invalid or you die, end of the game. That`s how car crashes look like in real life. In game you crash at 150 mph and you are still ok, if not you respawn at the nearest hospital. So GTA shouldn`t be totaly realistic but it should`t be insanely unrealistic either.

I agree, but I must warn you about Osho. That guy will bite your head off the minute he reads your post because he does that to everyone who points out one single foible of the game because he's a CJ dickrider who can't accept anyone's unpopular opinions. Another (sort of) realistic mission is New Model Army. You're just playing some sort of tournament with RC vehicles. Nothing too weird (maybe it's nerdy, but not weird)

I think most people believe this due to the jetpack. So aside from the jetpack based missions, San Andreas' missions are just as realistic/unrealistic (however you want to take it) as the other 3D-Universe games.

How could somebody glide all the way from a slow-moving prop-working plane to another Jet AND perfectly get inside?

Sure, because sneaking in an amphibious assault military ship and stealing a fighter jet, getting into an airplane using a motorcycle, jumping from a crappy plane to a fast jet in flight, infiltrating yourself in a drug syndicate and destroying it, killing your childhood friend for betraying you and then chasing a crooked cop that made your life miserable, chasing four gangbangers on top of a train and police not giving a f*ck, and flying an airplane at a low attitude without receiving any attention at all, among many other of Carl's adventures that don't involve jetpacks, are totally realistic, even by GTA's standards

At least this is kinda realistic, in GTA's standards. We also see Trevor doing a similar thing - breaking in a military base and steal a Cargobob.

So what? As if playing video games alone don't emphasize an unrealistic aspect of visual entertainment. It was ONE of the reasons why at the end of the day people enjoyed playing games like GTA SA and could not give a sh*t even if they seem more unrealistic.

When I was a kid almost every game had unrealistic aspects attached in some form or the other. I never even bothered to notice many of them nor complain about them either.

Unfortunately today, we have moved into an era that's full of new generation of spoiled brats and graphic whores blinded by the idea of realism so much that games like GTA SA are being faced with seriousness of these players making so many stupid statements against the unrealism that makes me really sad how stupid and sensitive they can be by the unrealism because I'm sure I will never again encounter anything so much crazy fun like the masterpiece GTA SA in realism infested modern GTA series desperately craving to become more realistc, and that's what makes them boring so fast and bereft of much long lasting fun and freedom.

 

GTA SA has its flaws like any other game like pixelated crap called Doom, etc., but the unrealistic aspect is defintely not one of them.

I fondly remember staying up way too many late nights during the release when I was young, until finally coming across jetpack ( and lot of things you guys are shouting as ALOT unrealistic ) in-game and realizing just how much fun I really had. I had the best times of my gaming life in playing GTA SA than any open world game thereafter. That's the mark of a classic, masterpiece of a game.

Salutes! GTA SA and thanks to the entire Rockstar team for offering the last epic fun adventure of the series!!!

-The train chase was realistic. Tenpenny wanted the gangs to tear each other apart. He was the head of CRASH. He was corrupt. That's enough to know why you don't get any attention in that mission.

 

-You don't get attention for flying too low in any GTA. Except when you fly over restricted areas.

I believe he meant cops following you and Tenpenny to help him, not a "normal" cop chase.

It's got something to do with the fire truck Tenpenny was driving goes faster than it really does when it reality, the fire truck can barely drive about 30 miles per hour. But who cares how unrealistic the game is? That's the whole point of video gaming. When did realism even mattered in video gaming?

Most early missions like Ryder,Tagging up turf,Drive thru,Drive By,Nines and AKs,Running dog,Home invasion,High stakes low rider...seem realistic,nothing over the top in those.

When did realism even mattered in video gaming?Realism matters in GTA V, where the physics make stunting with cars impossible unless you can land on your four wheels. I hate the physics in that game. Are Online's bike physics much better?

WAAAY better actually. The handling is pretty much the same but the physics are improved. With practice, you can actually go flying from one building to another in MP without falling. Meanwhile in SP just barely jumping over a small obstacle make you fall off most of the time.

 

I always use my Bati in both cases. I made lots of landings on rooftops, but this is the only Snap I made:

NO, SA did not have unrealistic missions. What does that even mean? It's a damn video game for f*ck sake, not a f*cking reality simulator. Maybe people are thinking SA is a little over the top because of its age, but that's fine. Yeah it may not be on par on that sense and with most games and recent GTA's such as IV, but SA did not have ''unrealistic'' missions. If SA had unrealistic missions, then every single gta games have unrealistic missions. I could go on and on on every single little detail that each gta game has had which is unrealistic, but I am not gunna do that because I don't care. It's a video game, have fun with it. When a protagonist dies, he respawns at the nearest hospital in most GTA's. Is that realistic?

 

 

Give the game the credits it deserves for its age, it's still a cult hit contender all these years later and people in YT videos still call this the best gta game, while storywise IV is the best.

Exactly. Besides, nobody played the game for the story (the story was the weak point of the game). It's like how everyone sh*tted on the Tony Hawk series for being unrealistic right when the Skate series came around. No sh*t it's unrealistic. That's why they're called video games. Duh!

Well I dont think the story was weak, it may not be on par with GTA IV due to Iv's emotions and stuff, but SA's story was action packed and it was a Video Game not a realism simulator, and it was good IMO.

Exactly what I was thinking. R* were obviously thinking gameplay comes first, storyline comes second.

Out of all the things to complain about, you complain about the missions being too unrealistic? Why not complain about the characters not dying to gunshots fired at point blank range too while you're at it? I mean, the main protagonist tanks bullets like he's the man of steel. A single bullet should kill him if the game is realistic.

I always saw GTA San Andreas as the Nirvana of video gaming. Nirvana thought of music more than lyrics. The same deal was with this game. The gameplay is the music and the story is the lyrics.

It's Area 69, not Area 51. So no, Area 69 shouldn't necessarily be hard to break into.
