Earthbound Posted January 4, 2003 Share Posted January 4, 2003 Sure, the game is great fun but it just wasn't as good as all the sites and mags' made it out to be I was disappointed with how little missions were in the game. In GTA3 there were many more Main Story missions than VC and the phone missions were not as challenging either .DON'T GET ME WRONG! One main, subconcious(sp) reason you were disappointed was because you already knew what to expect from gameplay and what-not. The game hasn't changed much, besides setting, from the original, and R* admitted GTA:VC is in no way a sequel, but more of an addon. So you, like many others, were expecting the "new toy" feeling like we all did with the great GTA 3, but found just about the same game, only in another place. But I know R* will kick us in the teeth with GTA4 and give us back the "new toy" feeling. (To all- I apologize for the "new toy" analogy. Anyways, like aggressor said, it's like an expansion pack for GTA3. Nothing is really "new", same engine and all with some modifications, same cars (mostly) and a few other changes (cop difficulty, graphics tweaking, new abilities and whatnot.) Hopefully my money will be better spent with GTA4 then it was with Vice City, and yours too, if you're disappointed as well and plan on getting #4. My point was we expected too damn much. I love you R*! *Read in Maxim, or stuff, or FHM (They're all the same to me) Englishman wanted to marry his PS2 but was turned down by local ministers. Tenacious_Dude Posted January 4, 2003 Share Posted January 4, 2003 i got gta:vc as soon as it came out, played it for about 3 weeks then got gta3 from the video shop. gta3 sucks ass! it may have more mssions but the missions are easy as sh*t. the guy never says anything which makes him look like a little prick, he doesn't run as fast, there aren't as many weapons, there aren't as many cars and the map is a piceash*t with no detail or anything Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
SolidCheat Posted January 4, 2003 Share Posted January 4, 2003 Don't forget, it came out before GTA VC, and Rockstar didn't have the experience with working on GTA in 3D. They made mistakes which they fixed up in VC, and they made more mistakes in VC which will be cleared up in GTA4. True, though, besides the missions and such, the physics of the game were horrible. Every time you fell, you fell flat on your face, you didn't roll like Tommy does. You couldn't bail out of vehicles or any of that stuff. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
