Holy f*cking sh*t you must be very bored in your free time.

What're you doing here then?

Glad as I am speculation's turned to personal lives, contributions or GTFO.

Thanks for taking the suggestions!

Meeting a stranger in the interceptor sounds like an interesting endeavor... Let me guess, you meet some strange leather-clad Aussie-accented vigilante and go hunting criminals with him.

How do you know what I get up to weekends? :pp

But no, nothing nearly as dramatic. I'm thinking something similar to gang hideouts from Red Dead. Ideas from anyone will be appreciated as always.

Actually gives me a boss idea for a side mission/stranger freak that it can be used in.

Where are you from if you don't mind me asking? Haven't heard anyone use the term BOSS in that context except where I'm from. You a scouser?

You should also do a strangers/side mission where you meet this crazed Southern stuntman who needs your help to set up this crazy stunt for a TV show that he's in. You need to grab a certain amount of items scattered around the map like cones, pieces of wood, paint, etc.. For a reward, he gives you the hero truck from the set and to get out of there fast before the producers find out.

You know what that means... update time!

When do all you guys want to see the first missions?

What's new:

Added a full list of bikes to the vehicles section, featuring but not limited to new additions such as the Ubermacht Terminator & Dinka Journey, and the return of favourites as varied as the Steel Horse Zombie B and Principe Ventoso.

Any bike guys here? Check out the full list (scroll down) and lemme know what you think.

Added the Albany Empress and Putz Chazal to vehicles as previewed in the Create Your Own Vehicle topic.

Added the Declasse Wildside and Vapid Hawk V8 with inspiration thanks to Blingy.

Elaborated on the inventory system and how this should interact with other gameplay features like looting. You'll be able to steal police badges and use them to commandeer vehicles without attracting heat/enter certain properties... and that's just for starters.

New random encounters in the form of Lee Larsen, Kolt "The Life" Savers (again thanks to Blingy), Ruby Katz and The Deacon. Added the full character profile of Betsy O'Hara. Check them out over at characters section.

Adding more to the topic over the next couple of days so stay tuned.

Where are you from if you don't mind me asking? Haven't heard anyone use the term BOSS in that context except where I'm from. You a scouser?

Not quite but I've known a few lads from Liverpool over the years so maybe that's where I picked it up from? ;)

It took me a while to make the Kolt Savers/Colt Seavers connection but damn, what an idea. Even watched an episode of two of The Fall Guy which gave me an idea of how to work in bounty hunting as well as the stunts.

Also made me realise why so much stunting was involved in getting Big Mitch Baker's bike back in VC!

I looked at the concept again. I'd definitely buy this if it the next game has most of this content. It isn't a typical 'concept with all guns and features to date in one game', it's something well done and thought of.

This upload was awesome. I don't know but I feel happy when I see the familiar faces in concept threads... it makes me adapt the characters easily maybe. Like Michael Madsen being a washed-up actor, Dennis Farina as a jewel trader (Cousin Avi ), Eddie Bunker as an experienced, legendary criminal (he also arranges a bank heist. Hmm...), Mr. foxy Buscemi as a cheap pornographer (I've mentioned it before... good job making Mr. Pink the Mr. Pussy. :p), Don Eladio as a Cuban drug lord who has stated to fall from grace... I'm really liking it.

Although I'm not a car or bike nut fella, I show special likeness towards bikes, but to be honest, I don't know much of them. However, I liked much of the vehicles of this concept. Steel Horse Zombie seems cool as f*ck, and I really liked Streetfighter making a return (it has been one of my favourite bikes throughout the series).

Gara will encounter The Deacon at Betsy's request in order to compel him into tracking Betsy's daughter down. In the process, Gara will reveal he is unsure of how many children he has fathered but knows of both a son and daughter he abandoned in his continued pursuit of criminality -- a direct parallel to Michael Townley.

Oh my god! Is this a bit sunshine on Michael's days of playing pimp downtown or else am I confused?

I had a smile from ear to ear, thanks so much amigo! Now when can we put it into production?!

EDIT: Hey, so I had another random encounter...

At midnight in the dark alleyways in Downtown, if you are caught on your feet walking around you might here the slow drip of coolant on the ground, the warm bellow of a Big Block between dual pipes, the hot steam from the exhaust, and before you can even figure it out you whip around to see 4 sets of headlights bow down upon you as you hear the tires shriek, the transmission drop into D, and the engine roar into life and by then it's all entirely too late.

I hope you can figure out a better story for this then I can, maybe turn it into a ghost car? Perhaps a serial killer owns it? You have to figure out the mystery..

Awesome idea, my brain's going into overdrive already!

I've got something spooky in mind. It may well chill your bones...

One thing she definitely needs is some kind of pet name.

Oh my god! Is this a bit sunshine on Michael's days of playing pimp downtown or else am I confused?

Heh, maybe a little misleading on my part. It's more a reflection on how Michael abandoned the criminal life to be with his family, whereas Gara simply abandoned any children he may have so that he could continue to operate in that world without a family to hold him down. That random encounter may be one of personal regret for him.

And I did consider including Michael here, then we figured he'd make an awesome (and logical) appearance in Carcer City. Not to say he won't be referenced, mind you - be sure to pay attention towards the end of the first mission. ;)

Maybe he could feature in Vice City Online...

Interesting enigma, man. Two different looks on a common matter, a matter that almost all criminals face one day. On the other hand, I started to take a shine on Gara more. Gara seems like the man whose aspects have been shaped by his criminal life and stiff experiences. A man carved with "wild side", degradation, ambition, fury... Will be interesting to see Gara's endless transformation as far as he sticks doing the bad line of work

"Eighty-eight. The outskirts of Carcer City. Took a small francise for ten G. Things were easier back then." - I wonder about it right now.

I'm back with another random encounter, or even better, a property mission for Sunshine Autos!

- SUNSHINE AUTOS MISSION CHAIN -

Mission 1: Don't be Nrvous!

So the first mission starts off with you having to grab a car back from a rich, whino funeral parlor owner. He's pretty nervous about the car, and all he really does is just wipe the car with a diaper. You don't need to worry about getting it out of the garage, it's stashed away in the backroads so you shouldn't have too much trouble getting there, just you might want to watch out for his son who's sick at home. He might not do anything, but in the chance that he does you should hope he doesn't call his friend to come over and come get him.. Return it to the garage at once without any damage, and the last thing you'll need to be NRVOUS about is how much you'll get paid..

Ferris Bueller... Blingy dude, you're killing it!

Alright, so I really like this car repo idea. Let's play a game. You're all welcome to submit your own repo ideas.

Name it (if it isn't featured already), post a pic of it and tell us how we're going to steal the car. Give the mission a fancy title and I'll feature you in the repo missions. Might even score yourself a cameo.

I'll be looking for at least ten so go ahead and post away guys.

Bonus points for famous 80s cars. If anyone posts KITT or the A-Team van or the Jag from The Equalizer I might just scream.

Ten bucks on UT and the Manta/Mantis.

Here's mine to add after Blingy's Cabrio Andreas mission:

You're given the low down on a hot Grotti GT making moves around the Money Mile. One problem: the owner plans to use it in a bank job. You rush over to Schlongberg & Sachs, find the robbery in progress and the driver blowing away security guards with a Spaz 12. He tosses a bag of money into the passenger seat and floors it out of there with VCPD in hot pursuit. Your job is to obtain the car with the least amount of damage possible -- the longer the chase, the worse condition the car, the lower your pay. You'll also need to stop it before the driver takes a police roadblock head on and totally destroys the vehicle. Be sure to snatch the bank booty if you think you can outrun the cops...

The Introduction

Vice City, dusk.

Darkness unravels on a small red light, slowly revealed to be blinking on top of an explosive device. It's affixed to a car dashboard and wires spread outwards like a spider's web, which a woman is helplessly trapped in. She is desperately rocking backwards and forwards being bound and gagged in the driver's seat. An explosion of pink engulfs her but for the moment it's only the sunrise.

Perspective switches to Mack Maddox, tough guy cop watching over the woman through binoculars from a top floor room at the Esterhaus Hotel. His threat echoes through this beginning scene:

"No negotiations, no compromises. You toss $200,000 under Burnett Overpass or she's toast. The car goes up with her in it. They'll be scraping her ass off of Vice Beach for a month. You got three hours. Don't disappoint us."

Focus moves to Cherry Jones, a younger Vice detective in a flash spread collar suit. His psychopathic eyes are alight and he bumps some coke to keep the buzz going. From an Unmarked Cruiser he watches the struggling woman inside the Benefactor Schafter across the bay. A grin slides across his face as he begins to flash the headlamps.

Control is then given to you, the protagonist Ariel Gara. You're on a slow cruise through dark waters and take signal from Jones that it's "time to move." Over the roaring motor of the powerboat, you're given instructions to power through to Burnett Overpass and collect the ransom. Backed by the soundtrack of

, familiarize yourself with the driving controls and make it to the bridge before time runs dry.

Slow as you pass under the bridge. You will hear two thuds: the first being the cash, the second being the Colombian coke dealer to whom it belongs. He levels a Machine Pistol and you hit the throttle, sending him and his spray of bullets sprawling through the air. He holds on to the front of the boat out of sheer determination. Manoeuvre left and right to throw off his aim or push the throttle enough to send him underwater and into the blades of your engine. Two Dinghys will pour in behind you along the way: more pissed off South Americans with sub-machine guns. Fend them off and a massive explosion will rock the screen. Responding Coast Guard boats soon throw them off your tail entirely. Head safely to shore.

The protagonist emerges from the Squalo. He's a solidly built seedy man in a default outfit of a grey summer suit and Hawaiian shirt. With the bag of money he approaches the duo of Jones and Maddox, who are both now wearing police badges on their belts. They cut the cash up on the hood of the Unmarked Cruiser. "What the f*ck?" he questions -- not of their badges but the explosion that engulfed their hostage.

"No compromises," Maddox responds flatly. "We caught the heat on you and lit her up."

"Real mess she made too," adds Jones. "And I didn't even press the switch on her, poor bitch just got her wires crossed. Ass too big for her pants."

"My cut went up with her."

Cherry Jones takes offence at this demand and holds you at gun point.

His attitude towards Gara is revealing: you are no more than a two-bit hood that Cherry holds weight over, an ex-con he can extradite to San Andreas at a moment's notice where he will face 25 years behind bars under the "three strikes" law. You are party to a scam where the Vice cops use insider information to hold drug dealers at ransom, information Gara suggests SA law enforcement would find very interesting. Ball is in Cherry's court: he levels his gun at you ready to blow your brains out. And then Maddox just about stops him from putting two in your head.

"Okay," he intervenes, "double the cut: double the risk."

You're shown a police file. Larry Mendoza: big time Vice Beach cocaine distributor. Violent priors, lots of weight over the South Point red light trade, ties to the Cartel. They want you to get cozy with Mendoza and rip his shipment. Doing so won't be easy. You're a nobody in this town and need to build a rep as a street dealer from the ground up. And even when you make a name for yourself, you'll need $50,000 to even get a conversation with Larry. The job is yours if you're willing to risk your cut. Maddox tells you to think about it. Cherry warns you not to take too long. They leave in the Unmarked Cruiser.

Gameplay resumes. Head over to Gara's Willard Faction and make your way to the payphone Downtown through Vice City at sunrise. Mess around with the targa tops and flick through the radio dial. You will be given a tutorial on how payphones work. They will be your primary means of communication until you can afford to buy a cell phone. Simply pay $1 to access the phone and an address book will pop up. Gara currently has three contacts: Asshole #1, Asshole #2 and McNeil. Select McNeil. Contacts can be added and deleted as you desire.

A cutscene will play of the epically chinned criminal answering the phone on the other end. He's enjoying himself at a sleazy skin joint.

plays in the background. Gara asks McNeil to set him up with enough cocaine to get him started on the street. No problem says McNeil: he can have it done by morning, just meet him on the beach. Their conversation is brief but it's clear these two have been tight for years.

Next telephone Asshole #1 -- Maddox -- and tell him you're on.

Now travel to your safehouse in Undertown. You will be shown a garage in walking distance of your digs where you can store a number of vehicles. Park there and walk the rest of the way. You'll notice the way Gara's player model moves; the squared off frame of Vercetti, the heaviness of Johnny Klebitz. His head is up and over his shoulder, always aware. One of his arms always carries an exaggerated swing. There's a sense of experience about him.

You will notice a street gang hassling a group of Hobos, Assault Rifles slung over their shoulders, some holding them low. An on-screen message pops up: These are Vice Boys. This is their territory. Gang activity is rife in Vice: watch your back.

Carry on walking. You'll take a couple of flights in a beaten down apartment block and come to a room with a rusted up door that looks like it's been salvaged from a junkyard. Home sweet home. Walk inside: boarded up windows, Cluckin' Bell buckets and Piswasser bottles everywhere. Rats and roaches roam freely. A battered A/C unit whirrs on the wall. It's a desolate sight and provides you with every reason to want to escape it.

"Home is where the herpes is."

You are given the choice of creating a save game at the bed. A woman sleeps here: Gara's live in girl, Betsy. You'll come to notice they bounce off one another. The mission ends with the protagonist staring out of barred up windows, prison like in appearance, the gangsters on the street now using the homeless as target practise.

Welcome back to VICE.

Mission Passed.

Achievement Unlocked: Bent Cop Blues.

DTYHWjm.png

A daring heist on the outskirts of Carcer City has Alderney State Police in a frenzy and the East Coast captivated. Four armed bandits stormed the Ridgeburro bank and took the establishment for what is believed to be in excess of half a million dollars, engaging the local police department in fierce combat to make an escape. Witnesses describe one of the gunmen breaking away from the main group amongst exchanges of gunfire in what police believe to have been a deliberate attempt to draw fire upon himself. "He was this hopped up guy... fat, but kinda powerful, 'ya know? Gawd, it's like he came straight from Vinewood!"

Authorities are keen to trace these individuals fearing links to a recent upsurge in gang violence.

An explosion that rattled the keys this morning is being linked to a wave of robberies targeting South American drug smugglers, Vice City Police Department say. Denying reports of insider leaks within the VCPD being the catalyst for these ransoms, Lieutenant Armando Castello resolved those involved will be caught and put to his sword. This is yet another damaging accusation against an already fragile department, revealed only last week that an entire 1986 class of academy graduates were either killed in the line of duty or imprisoned on corruption charges.

Sh*tting in your coffee... Weazel News.

Your narration puts people in an atmosphere like a movie's or a novel's, man. VCPD is a real clusterf*ck, all that ransom thing. On the other hand, I really enjoyed Jones and Maddox, two cops getting carved in a modernization underground world. BTW, it was real good of you to state us that we can flick through radio stations... I really turned on a few songs and listened.

A crossover to Obsydian's Carcer City... wow! I couldn't see that coming. For some reason, I did imagine Michael Townley dodging bullets while flipping his legs like Red Kit with a duffel bag on his back... and of course this has gotta be a side effect of getting high on crack.

Honestly, good job man. Also it was cool to put news right after the mission. Actually I have been planning to put news about the events in storyline for SOTEOF, but under the program's section, but putting them under the mission seems more righteous. I'd like to use this tactic... of course if you don't mind?

Absolutely amazing! For a minute I thought I was reading an excerpt from To Live & Die in L.A. or even a Steven Segal movie! Your depths that you have, just mindblowing. I don't have time to type out a long post like I just had, but it got deleted. I'll do a better review when I get back.

For now, here's an idea.

- SUNSHINE AUTOS MISSION CHAIN -

Mission 3: CD Repo Man

So high on fumes (I think that's what it was..) after the two Grotti repossessions, you were proud you were starting to make a name on the streets that you don't take any excuses (not that you did before, but now even average Joes need to watch out) but that doesn't mean you have to overlook your employees. The janitor at Sunshine Autos, Clint Dewgs, used to be a Repo Man himself back in the late 50's, early 60's. You've talked to him a few times about how you're new to this, and he more or less kinda took you under his wing, teaching you the ins and outs of dealing with people firmly, but fairly. Although you two hit it off pretty close recently, that doesn't mean it doesn't go without the occasional favor here and there. Clint had an old beige '64 Declasse Star back in the day that he used to use as his stakeout car. Well, some hoods stole it a few weeks back since it came up on a black list. He sincerely asked you if you could, y'know, as a personal favor, get back his favored steed. Sure, the pay might not be the highest, but sometimes the jobs that give you the least pay... Turn out as the jobs with the most.

So I finally got around to making my review at the bottom.

So my review to the first mission. Let me tell you, I imagined everything in my head. It felt like a dingy, corrupt and messy 80's violent crime thriller. You could imagine the faces, the images, the smells, just put yourself in the seat of the protagonist. Literally just trying to make it on everything, being strung along with odd jobs and two bit setups. The details are what really puts a good story into the fantastic category, and the small details are something that you absolutely paid attention to most. I would be overjoyed if I got what you detailed as the first mission, it almost kinda reminded me of Driver in a way after the first mission. Kinda like what Tanner would do after he impressed the Bank Robbers.

One of the most detailed mission scripts I've ever seen. I can't wait to see what else you have in store. Also in Gara's bio it says he spent time in a New Austin. I'm actually considering doing a 70's Texas concept and was wondering about where Gara was at the time, because if he wasn't in prison perhaps I could include him?

A crossover to Obsydian's Carcer City... wow! I couldn't see that coming. For some reason, I did imagine Michael Townley dodging bullets while flipping his legs like Red Kit with a duffel bag on his back... and of course this has gotta be a side effect of getting high on crack.

Actually, there's a part of Carcer City's storyline involving the Entrometerse Cartel from this concept, and there is a character who serves as a messenger between them and the James Family Syndicate.

Heh, that was actually just the first of a few mentions Carcer City will get here. There's a character named Carlos Gonzales who appears in Carcer's Part 4. The protagonist is involved in helping him to move a shipment up north. Anyone familiar with Carcer will remember it doesn't go too well for Gonzales... and he'll appear in a second mission later on when the events catch up with him.

And I'd be honored if you went ahead and added news events to the already awesome chapters you write up.

1964 Declasse Star

Just don't look in the trunk!

These are bloody brilliant, and I really liked the sense of progression - you're making a name for yourself and now no vehicle is safe. And with some guidance from Clint, who knows what you'll steal next?

Flattered by the Driver/To Live & Die in L.A. comments by the way, reading that I was quite pleased with myself!

Ooooh, tell us more about this Texas idea!

He was in prison on a 1-to-10 for robbery, maybe if you have any heists they could show how he ended up inside? Any kind of crime along the border would be bonus points... there's a lot to play around with and I'm very open to the idea.

This reminds me. I need to post up Gara's full bio soon.

I dunno what to do for the Mantis' repo thing since I'm all pooped out for the day. All I can think of is that they're filming a sequel to some movie about the Mantis in Vice City and the star car has to be stolen from five European film producers for a collector.

Wait, New Austin? RDR is clearly in a different universe than GTA.

But then again, it could be a different New Austin altogether, just with the same name and concept.

Mission 4: Racin' In The City!

So, a mysterious random order was put in on the phone today, according to the secretary Ms. Stephens. This cult movie from Europe, some street racing movie I guess is getting a sequel. Miraculously it happens to be at a time when a collector had contacted me for my services and he gave me a tip that the producers are going to be having a production party soon and the main Hero car is going to be on display. We've been requested to gather the vehicle from the banquet, either being an asshole and making some noise! Or... being slick, dressing up as bellboys, and running tools up the bellhop so we can start setting up surveillance and scheming the place to prepare for the right time to gank it from those European geeks. Just make sure you get a radical jump in it over by the Police Station in Vice Beach. As long as it's in one piece, and we don't flip this piece of plastic fantastic, we'll make our payday... And the lights on over our heads another night.

^ Not enough New Kids references but it'll do. Hell, you should make your own concept thread about this kind of stuff. You seem to like detailing out car theft scenarios

I like it. Even better if the collector turns out to be a certain forklift driver who spray paints it lime green and ships it to the Netherlands, hm? ;)

Bonus points for Body Wasch!

A Blingy concept would be the bomb.

Did Rockstar confirm RDR to be in a different universe? With the Marston parent in GTAO and Jack's books all over Franklin's library I haven't seen much from Rockstar that distances GTA from that game. And being a heavy inspiration on this concept, I wanted to throw out a reference to it.

The most dead giveaway is that real-life cities like Los Angeles are mentioned in RDR.

If they want a non-GTA game be part of the universe, they don't shy away from it, like in Manhunt.

^ You guys are literally all too flattering! I dunno guys, I just have a big imagination I suppose lol.. But yeah, I think it's fun doods haha

Here's another random encounter mission i've been battering around in my head for a few days, and I finally got around to sitting around and doing it.

- RANDOM ENCOUNTERS -

Mission (X) - The Big Payback of the Geeks

So whilst walking around the mall in Vice Point, enjoying the atmosphere... but mostly the butts, you overhear a bunch of nerds and geeks scheming a big payback gig towards a group of jock dickwads who kept hassling them, giving them busted balls and a mean headache. You stop to turn around, when they all peer right back at you. Almost in a Mexican standoff, you and the group just kinda glare for a few seconds until the gross nerd steps out and abruptly asks "Hey bud, you seem like the type who needs work. We need a favor to ask, there's a little bit of cash that we could maybe give you.. I'll need to bust up Carson a little bit, but y'know no biggie y'know?" You look stern, but for whatever reason you feel you can trust these... people. "The older member of the group, his brother has just gotten this bitchin' ass ride. If you can, we can get it for you if you can make your magic with it.." Hmmm, you start to think. This could be fun.

There's either a redhot movie collection or some damn good grass behind that imagination

Crazy pleased with every repo so far and we're getting so many random encounters that I better dig out that header I made and give them their own section on the front page! The man would be proud.

I'm gonna add a fancy pants mission table soon. One for the repos too.

As far as New Austin goes, it's staying as it is for now. Probably change it if Obsydian decides to call his Texas setting something else.

Here's another asset mission I thought up:

Repo 6: Pfister Christian

Remember the Colombian got lit up? Sh*t 'course you do, trouble that crucifix wearing motherf*cker caused you since. Time for you to 'coup some dollar, courtsey of The Man. Pay ain't been great so far but he looks after you, see? Get your ass over to the Colombian's mansion down in the Grove. Haul it back in one piece or stay out of town!

The death of the owner doesn't mean security is lax on this one-of-a-kind LeFrance endurance winner. SMG toting security is tight on the Pfister, Cartel can sell it for clean dollar after all. Two choices: go in guns blazing and risk tearing up the fiberglass or jump the wall and move quiet with the taser. The freedom is yours, just don't disappoint the man else you won't be seeing any more work. Be easy on the throttle on the way back to the dealership, this baby is barely street legal.

Posting the next story mission in a sec. Hope you guys enjoy it, would love the reviews when it's up!
