Yes while passive you should be invincible, like non contact.

But also if you have a certain amount of kills in a session, you shouldn't be able to go passive.

Way to often do I encounter kdr whores who kill someone a couple times, go passive to get into a better position, leave passive and kill again. And then does the same thing all over again.

there is nothing more sweet that having a mugger pull a twanker from his tank, see him go into passive mode as i drive over him.

Exactly. I'm the person that does that.

Do you really want to give me even MORE ways to be a dick?

Twankers these days aren't even worth a mugger anymore. Just a few shots and they explode. Mugging supercar drivers from their car is more amusing these days.

Passive players should:

Not take any player damage whatsoever- includes vehicular kills- players can be hit by player vehicles but not die from it.

Not take player damage whilst in a vehicle but that cannot use weapons while driving. If the vehicle is destroyed by a player, the passive mode player can just simply get out like in friendly GTA IV

but they are in a 4 wheel weapon!!!

more than once i have been ran over by a passive player in a car.

with your idea they would become some sort of god mode!

I do the same thing. It's like a reverse-glitch. It's something Rockstar put in the game, that needs to be taken out.

If they did, KDR players would still be toolbags, but their numbers would be much more inline with the rest of the players.

CarimboHanky nailed it.

Like I said - I already average about 2 deaths a session, and can rack up about 20 something kills using Passive Mode after suicide-bombing people.

You do NOT want Passive Mode to make me invulnerable to vehicles, too.

You guys are only thinking about the people who want to be peaceful.

You're not thinking about the people like me who would abuse the fuçk out of a total-invulnerability Passive Mode.

yeah that was just a example, tanks are more rare now, if a person call for a tank, i call for my adder!

the other day a dude was trying to grief a group of people, i called for my adder, drove directly into the tank, he got bad sport and paid insurance, he quickly leave the session as i laughed!!!

And probably more than once you've started a fight with a player who wasn't interested, i.e. they were in passive. You got no room to complain.

Yup. I hate going to get a Cargobob or a Buzzard to have a wanted level rampage or pick up Noose trucks and getting shot at.

Yes, provided that weapons are permanently disabled (obviously) and any players you kill through hit and run (or otherwise), you pay their medical bills.

Passive players may enter armed vehicles but will not be able to operate the weapons.

no, even if in passive a vehicle should still be a high speed deadly machine. people also seem to forget that passive is just that, passive. not invincibility or god mode. i see a few comments that needs to be thought out better. like no timer for in/out of passive? think about that one, say your standing next to a passive and they come out of it and shoot you without some kind of timer warning, it would only be an easy kill method that would be abused by most. also passive is not to keep you from dying, but to show others your not willing to fight, even though we all know it doesn't work that way, but only because of the mentality of the community.

Then passive mode should put a speed limiter on any vehicle you drive otherwise you're not being very passive.

What timer? I have never been warned that another player was coming out of passive mode. In fact, I've seen players in passive mode who had a regular blip so there was no way for me to tell when they moved in and out of passive.

The only counter I've ever seen is the one you see when you are coming out of passive yourself -- and as far as I know you can actually be killed (shot) during this countdown, even though you are unable to attack.

Just like most things in GTAO, passive mode is a broken piece of sh*t.

players in passive with a normal blip is a bad glitch and i could've swore that when someone came out of passive that their map blip would blink for a short bit. if i'm wrong here then sorry, because i've seen passive blips blink quite a bit and next thing i know they're not passive anymore. unless there is something else going on here that i do not know about. i've also been in passive and no one shot at me, but the min i took off passive i've been killed before that timer let me rearm myself. while there are some areas they need to work on for sure, but i still say there is nothing wrong with passive mode other than people don't use it the way it was intended. it is not to be some sort of inviciblity/god mode, it is to show other player that you mean no harm or trouble and don't want to fight/PvP. it's mostly us the player community mentality that is the problem.

I could see some entertainment potential with this, smashing into friends at full speed and seeing how far they can fly, human ten pin bowling etc

I see your point about how people use passive mode. The correct way to use it would be to join a lobby, enter passive and go about your business, staying away from other players. However people prefer to use it deceptively and as a means of escape after attacking players, so I agree with you.

As for the blinking blips, I'm not sure. It would be nice if that did indicate players leaving passive. I thought it blinked after a player killed somebody but I see players' blips blink all the time for seemingly no reason at all.

Nope, because it will make a lot of people in passive mode try to run people over.

Yes and no.

Yes, because sometimes I just want to go about my business and not be mercilessly hunted down by some douche bag with something to prove, and you can't simply drive away because the moment you touch the car door, you're vulnerable.

No, because it would be used and abused in new and frustrating ways, I have zero doubt.

Honestly, I'd be ok with invincible taxi's or no-clip taxis. Call up a taxi, hop in and have it take you home with zero threat of being killed.

which to me seems like a good reason to get rid of passive mode all together

it rarely if ever saves unwilling victims from abuse since they can just be run over or hosed down.

while it does serve griefers and K/D whores.

if you're being griefed leave the game, it's way easier than running from ledge to ledge trying not to get run over.

and if you want to be left alone go invite only, with the added option of disabling friendly fire ofcourse.

who needs a weirdass mechanic like passive mode when there's a simple and functional concept like friendly fire being used in so many games.

yeah it does blink for killing, and i've seen them blinking for no reason i could see, but i'm pretty sure passive blip blinks before it turns normal. i usually pay more attention to the screen instead of the maps. i'll keep an eye out next few times i'm on, because hell now i'm not even sure myself.

I think passive mode is fine. I'll use it if I'm being destroyed and I want to get away from the action.

(it's not hard)

players that go passive and stay on the same spot & taunt deserve to get hosed or ran over.

If players want to 'mind their own business', they shouldn't be in a public lobby wondering why they are getting run over.

You should read the part of my post above what you quoted. I like how you took that part out so your post would make sense.

If you killed a certain amount of ppl in a session, or exited passive a number of times, you should either not be able to use it again in that sesh, or not get out of it. That way you can't jump in and out of PM, you gotta learn how to fight.
