Creepiest places in the GTA universe

The thread in the GTA V forum regarding SA myths gave me this Idea since everyone was talking about how creepy the woods were.

So what are your creepy places? For me the abandoned Sprunk Factory in GTA IV has some The Last Of Us creepiness about it. Especially on a foggy night.

Back O Beyond in SA used to scare the sh*t of me when I first played it too.

El Castillo Del Diablo in San Andreas.

The name itself literally means "The Devil's Castle" in English. And it was really very creepy. SA's countryside itself was spooky and to be honest I feel SA did a really good job capturing the "scary" atmosphere.

And then there is Big Smoke's crack palace which literally gave me the creeps. Especially since some say they have seen Smoke's ghost there.. I'm a bit of a myth hunter so I'm interested in this stuff and it's actually somewhat true... the place is still creepy either way.

Los Santos Cementry was a bit chilling as well. Apartment 3C is another example.

For me the only place that felt creepy in IV was Dwayne's apartment (or something like that) maybe it's because I still haven't investigated myths in GTA IV in detail like I did in SA.

One of the creepiest places for me are Little Haiti and Little Havana in Vice CIty, creepy, ugly neighborhoods...

In GTA III it's tunel under Salvatores Mansion.

And in GTA SA eastern part of Las Venturas was prety creepy..

Las Brujas in San Andreas.

SA altogether had many creepy places; especially the ever-so-creepy Back O' Beyond woods during night/stormy time.

GTA IV's Sprunk Factory, especially in Trespass in night, with all the explosions... hurr...

Don't know why but the apartments and the subway in GTA IV scare me a bit, maybe because there are writings in blood and sh*t like that.

I second the abandoned spunk factory, especially with the ghost in there, on a dark foggy night that place can be pretty freaky

The Panopticon in San Andreas used to scare me back in the day, the sky was dark red when it was raining which was really odd to me plus the fog that added alot to the scary atmosphere. And I cannot forget the false rumor that a Leatherface was hidding there.

The entire San Andreas state is also a pretty scary place. I mean how many time a plane crashed in front of/near me... Now everytime I hear a plane flying around, I can't stop looking everywhere if this one is stable or not, that's very frustrating. :nervous:

Nobody remembers the forests in GTA San Andreas, raining, when the sun was setting and the sky had that redish grey color? Now, if you add the random cabins with blood marks, abandonded cars and strange glows, you get the creepiest place in the whole series.

Oh yeah, Oh yeah. I was playing some GTA SA i actually haven´t been in Big Smokes crack palace after the story, So i wanted to go in and look around.

I ran up the first steps and i heard "heavy breathing" probably from my player but i dunno then when i came to the statue i walked inside the strip place first i didn´t notice anything then i went out heard some sound went in there again heard a music started playing "Comptons most wanted hood took me under" loudly yeah that was fun it was more loudly inside the room, and i didnt know if i´d be attacked by a gang member a hooker or a crackhead when i entered it first. lol quick little post

CJ's house in San andreas.... remember the rumor about his mom's ghost? Taking pictures with the camera jn weird llaces was scary as hell, too.

I remember watching a Youtube video regarding a crashdd plane in San Andreas. Can't remember it, though. I'll look for it.

San Andreas had the most of them. Many places in the forests and the abandon towns and isolated shacks in the desert.

In V you can only pick up the talk radio station near Los Santos and 'Blaine county radio' in Blaine county. Well I wish there was some isolated places that were so far out of civilization that the radio would go fuzzy on every station. That would add to the creepy atmosphere.

V might be the biggest map so far. But it doesn't really have that creepy, isolated feel anywhere that I can think of.

Definitely the countryside in GTA: SA. It felt so isolated and remote, also as somebody already mentioned, occasionally a plane would crash in my vicinity and that was creepy af. It was even creepier during bad and foggy weather. Some parts of the desert in San Andreas were pretty scary as well - Las Brujas, Area 69, El Castillo del Diablo.

Back O' Beyond/The Panopticon. I've seen too much myth videos about these places to ever step foot in them again.

The ocean in GTA V freaks me out as well. Imagine being 500ft down the surface stuck inside a machine, nothing but darkness all over you, and what IS waiting in that darkness.

A new kind of bullsh*t!

How could you even say that? While Vice City was smallest city of the franchise, it was most detailed one. It had details in every aspect and none of other cities was like that.

It's NOTHING compared to 3's LC.

Just my opinion, don't take it too seriously.

Another creepy place, this time in V is the altruist cult. We all can admit, cannibals are f*cking weird and scary.

Back O' Beyond it is for me. Even saying the name alone creeps me out. When I saw that Ghost Car roll down the hill for the first time, from then on I used the Jetpack to fly over that place LOL.

Big Smoke's Crack Palace post storyline. The fact that after a massive fire and explosion, it looks completely fine, and even the lights are still going...

You can't get to this place normally, but there is a house in the Hidden Interiors universe with pictures of CJ's girlfriends, and a man that tries to stab you.

I always used to run out of the house really quickly, afraid I'd see the ghost walking around. And Mt. Chilliad at night always gave me the creeps.

V's underwater is oddly eerie. Especially at night. Also along the mountains I have a strange feeling a coyote will jump out of nowhere and kill me. Basically I feel I need to get to civilization ASAP.

Agreed, VC is a good GTA, but it was rushed, like V.

That abandoned casino in GTA IV which i remember also had a sewer system which lead you to another abandoned house. But in general the subways in both GTA IV and V look pretty creepy.

San Fierro police department. If you go in, you can't ever leave without reloading a save. And endless cops respawn there. CJ is trapped for all eternity killing cop afrer cop...

OG Loc's house. Despite being deserted, the lights are still on, and the music is still playing...
