I get really annoyed at people who use longer words to sound smarter but then it makes 0 sense. Example from recently:

"It'll work, just think logistically"

The whole business-sounding word salad is so annoying. Muh opportunity cost, start-up entrepreneurship, cost optimization of logistically disposed trickle-down economics deluxe premium allocation profit problem etc, etc. Plus, all it means is "some greedy sh*t leeching off of many people".

I like to wave to people and give them a great big smile. So whenever someone is oblivious and doesn't recognize my gesture I want to say something to the effect of "Hey a**hole, I'm being nice to you, quit being a dick and wave back and give me a great big smile so that I can feel accepted and loved in this great big, selfish and cold planet."

If a stranger waved at me in the street, I would be very unhappy and instantly defensive.

A smile is always welcome, a wave is shady as f*ck. Although, maybe it's an American thing? To wave at strangers?

I only wave at people I know. And you have to consider distance as well. I wouldn't wave at someone if they're two feet away. That's just creepy

Being unable to see comments on a Youtube video that's blocked in my country. It's just as bad as Youtube's advertisement-friendly video content guidelines. It's fine if I'm unable to see the video, but why the f*ck can't I see any comments, let alone leave any if the video's blocked?!

The constant remakes and sequels of classic movies that should be left alone. Get Carter, Alfie and The Italian Job, now Ghostbusters, Jumanji, Blade Runner... terrible. That and people who talk throughout movies at the theatre. Annoying as f*ck.

Advertising in general, big rant below.

 

Classic songs being used in advertisements, today I've already had Boston's More Than Just A Feeling used to sell me insurance and Saturday Night Fever for Chocolate, bonus points if they butcher a song by changing the lyrics.

 

I realise that by talking about them the advertisers have achieved their goal but it still irks me, especially when the advertisements are for really mundane products. I don't blame the artists, it's income for them but it just gets to me.

 

Also advertisements with zany and wacky characters who are probably designed in the hope of going viral. It's just so soulless, you can imagine the marketing people sitting around trying to come up a mascot to represent their brand, usually a completely ott annoying one with no relevance to the product at hand, which will bring in current trends in such a ham fisted manner, a grating catchphrase completes the process, it's so cynical and cringy.

Pet peeves: working in a deli edition

 

-when people complain about having to wait/ get impatient when it's obvious we're all busting our asses doing 5 different things at once while trying to serve the 20 customers at the counter

 

-when someone orders something from the hot case when I'm flipping it (aka taking the food trays out, cleaning the inside of the hot case, and putting the food in new tinfoil-wrapped trays fast enough so that the food doesn't get cold)

 

-when someone orders something from a section of the deli that I'm mopping/just got finished mopping

 

-when someone orders multiple sandwiches or large amounts of hard-to-cut meat after 8 PM (we have a bunch of sh*t to clean and there's only like 3 people in the deli that late)

 

-when someone orders large amount of sandwiches in general

 

I have an irrational hatred towards anyone who does these things

What about the c*nt's that literally watch you clean/wipe down a slicer, just so they can ask you to slice something using the same slicer, even though you closed 10 mins ago and they couldve easily f*ckin came over and got their order first, and then gone and done their bullsh*t shoppin in the grocery dept where they're not f*ckin up anyone's closing routine. But nah, that makes too much sense.

This is more of a gaming pet peeve, but I really hate the "if you want a story go read a book or watch a movie" mentality that seems to exist in modern gamers.

 

Uh why the f*ck does anyone have to read a book or watch a movie if they want to experience a story in a video game?
