The Pet Peeves Thread

Most people buy Beats just because of the brand. It's silly but it's the truth.

That's what annoys me. My headphones have better sound quality and build quality. I purposely bent mines and they look brand new. Someone did the same to their beats and they broke and the plastic ended up cutting them. Plus the bass distorts the sound on beats, and their stuck that way. Mines is adjustable, and the sound quality is great. Not the best, but still. Plus mines are cheaper, by at least $200+. Only thing that beats has over Skull Candy is advertising and brand/recognition. Some people care more about image than functionality. It sickens me. Not just with headphones, but a lot of other things as well.

^Yeah there's another pet peeve right there. People that only buy things for the damn brand and put down anyone that doesn't have that exact brand. I can't stand people like that. Then they go around flashing their expensive sh*t to everyone. I wanna throw their stupid Beats on the ground and stomp them into oblivion.

People who go rambo in a game that your suppose to be stealthy in...

Payday 2 i finally get with a decent crew and we completed a couple jobs without triggering the police then this kid joins us and just as i was about to cut the security system he thinks it'll be a good idea to start firing his gun shooting at absolutely nothing and alerting the police.

What's the point in having a mic if your not going to listen to our plan?

People who use "bae" to describe their significant other.

Same here. People don't know what it really means.

Man, this times a f*cking trillion. I can't wait for this trend to die out (only for a new, worse one to take it's place sadly)

People who think there are ''rules'' that you should live by them in life, they like to tell you what to do, what not to do, how to speak, how to think, whats right and whats wrong. usually they are religious. the "if you do that/think like that/say that, then you are [something]" people. i hate those c*nts with a burning passion. i'll live the way i want. i have a mind of my own, ill make my f*cking decisions and accept the f*cking consequences. you were not put on this earth to tell me how to live my life.

Yes! This exactly. I'll live my life the way I wanna live it, and no ones gonna tell me otherwise. I hate people who try to have authority over me.

This is why I hate that i'm forced to go to bullsh*t church every week by my family, but I just have to suck it up for now until i'm living on my own. I can't wait to be free. I feel like I've been brainwashed since birth.

Your childish superiority complex makes you much shallower than someone who buys a certain expensive brand or item to look flashy.

People who use "times" instead of "multiply"

So much this. I've heard some teachers use times instead of multiply and it annoys the crap out of me.

People who dedicates their whole life to an sport team. And scream of happiness everytime their team wins. Like if they were receiving many millions of dollars for each goal or something.

I mean, if you're fan of your city's team then ok, but don't take it to the next level. It's a goddamn game. Your life won't become better if your team wins.

When people put things in the fridge and it doesn't say anything about not eating or drinking it, so I eat/drink it, and then they get mad cause it was there's...sorry, it didn't have a name on it or anything so I claimed it as my own. You should invest in your own mini fridge or something instead of using the main family fridge. The family fridge is communal (this goes out to my older sister, you're 21 and you have a few decent paying jobs...you have more than enough money for something like a mini fridge. There's no reason to freak out and yell at me over a little cheap can of Coke that I took, there's plenty more)

This really grinds my gears. I work in a building for a well known search engine/advertising company with supposedly working professionals, some times I walk in and there's piss all over the seat. What the f*ck? No attempt to clean it. Also, I notice people pick their nose and wipe it around the cubicles. f*cking disgusting.

Damn! Mr P works at Ask Jeeves.

But really, that sh*t is disgusting. Pissing on the floor at a urinal is up there with that and then noticing people not washing their hands after using the bathroom! Gross!

when someone says "mines" instead of "mine"

Example. "Those chips are mines" instead of "Those chips are mine"
regardless of whether the object in reference is plural or not, its still mine

these are mines Zero_landmine.jpg

this is Mine's 2853_2lo.jpg

People calling GTA a franchise. Maybe I'm wrong and I'l take the flak if I am but my memory of franchise is things like McDonald's where they give licences out for other businesses to use the name and pay money up. Or just giving a licence out for another company to use the IP. I think people mistaken it for "series" which is obviously not the same thing.

The terms can actually be used almost interchangeably, Grand Theft Auto is a media franchise because they partner with companies such as Sony and Microsoft for commercial exploitation. That is the definition of franchise... A company working together with other partners or parties for commercial purposes. So yes Grand Theft Auto is a franchise.

In the definition you gave it isn't just the same name either, its the products and the entire brand identity. Although it can be much less than that like how GTA is a franchise. Speaking of which...

You know what really grinds my gears... People who are annoyed by things when they are actually wrong about what they find annoying.

It is closer to a franchise, digitally speaking anyway, than a series (IMO). For the video games themselves, you've got several different developers (and not talking about R* studios here), as well as several different publishers/distributors (R* Games, Take Two and Capcom). And you can take that further with the games being split up into separate universes/eras, which you could draw parallels to a show that has a number of spin off series' (Lets use Stargate for example; SG-1, Altantis and Universe are all separate series' but apart of one franchise). That's a little nit picky though, I'll concede.

You've also got a lot of merchandise as well and not just things like t-shirts and so on, but toys like kubrick sets.

It isn't a franchise in the most traditional sense, no, but series undersells it on the flip side (again, IMO).

Idiots who call gamers "spoiled brats" if they complain. Case and point, V section. I bought the f*cking game, so how does giving my input make me a spoiled brat? I swear to god, I wonder about some of you forumers. Some of you must've been dropped on the head as infants.

Some people don't like dissenting voices unfortunately. :/ I have my own valid criticisms with the game and I will vent where I want to.

Cheers.

Something that's been grinding my gears as of late (regarding the GTA V forum) is the way some people think someone should be questioned as to why they're there if they don't like the game.

I can understand this notion if it was one of the other sub forums since they're not as active, but there could be plenty of reasons for them to stick around. Maybe they want to see how the next gen and/or PC versions turn out to see if it changes their opinion?

Oh and the Nostradamuses that think GTA V will gather some kind of unfound fame with the release of GTA VI. You don't need to make a bold prediction that of course people will praise GTA V over GTA VI. Everyone's got different tastes. This "cycle" people come up with is nothing more than a figment of their imaginations.
