Solid Scorpion

What I've learned.

- Trust no one unless they're your friends, in which case definitely don't trust them.

- Chrome paint and dollar rims are cool.

- If you're good at the game, below level 30 or above level 50 you're a hacker.

- Modders are now refered to as hackers.

- Discovered my mam/mum/mom is a predatory whore who has slept with every 14 year old I've encountered.

- That contrary to my knowledge, I'm homosexual, have aids and engage in intercourse with my dog and mother.

- Playing as a female character in any game is wrong and punishable by death.

- Hackers are bad unless they're giving you money.

- We all imagined hearing the word "heist" in trailers and premotional material.

- Rockstar underwent corporate rebranding to Cockstar.

- Fairplay is an age old myth.

- Free Mode is the equivalent of Battlefield 4 multiplayer except without an objective.

Wheeling and Dealing

That NO MATTER WHATThe kiddies are still ungrateful and entitled are towards :r*: complaing about every update :r*: puts out.

Each update there is always one or two threads made about how bad the update sucks & that :r*: never gives them what they want and blah blah blah blah...

They are so ungrateful R* is the ONLY gaming company that i know of that released a game update MONTH for FREE while every other gaming company/makers charge for their updates and they only release one every 6 months to a year so they should be happy for what they are getting, When the majority of us started playing GTA with GTA 1 we didn't have any updates or super cars and we were happy and loved the game.

Yeah we should be estatic for their 4 minutes of work reskining the same cars over and over. Or we should be pissed as consumers who bought a unfinished game... ever heard of false advertising?

don't even bother man

some people just don't get it and they never will.

he just thinks because it's free it's better than something that isn't free and that's the end of it.

while in fact you always do get what you pay for

which is to say that if something is free you should not expect a whole lot out of it.

whereas something that you have to pay for pretty much has to be quality in order to convince people to buy it.

so by making these updates free all they really did was lower expectations and the effort they have to put in.

and I don't see why any1 should be happy about that.

Here is my small list:

— Nothing is constant: updates are changing balance of the game and can mess with vehicle handling, damage system or anything without a notice. Sometimes it was pre-planned, sometimes not. Something is changed back, something not. There is no pattern;

— You should be ready for everything: balance change, handling change, damage change, money loss;

— There is no such thing as heists;

— Shoot first, fight dirty, heroes are dead and community is only good if you're in your own private crew;

— There is no such thing as morale in this game and anybody who thinks opposite will be disappointed;

— Majority of items that you can purchase are useless. You really can kick ass in this game with a $9,000 bike, a car, free 2-car garage and a Buzzard;

— Racing is rubbing in GTA;

— It is the most troubled and crippled game I ever played on X360 (Online);

So, my best recommendations: don't trust anybody, only rank matters (under 135), find a crew, don't spend real time on virtual things you don't use, be fast and always on the move, set up traps, know the map and plan your exit, master helicopters and bikes, be ready to use free-aim in PvP, use any possible game enhancement (Lester, Merryweather, Lamar), don't use glitches that can harm others and for f*ck's sake have fun!

GTA 5 noob that I am (on PS3), I've learned:

- Don't be afraid to trust anyone the first time, but after that, let 'em have it with both barrels.

- Invest in a good super car as quickly as you can, and don't waste your money on more than one. It is key to making life in GTAO much easier--especially losing the cops.

- Ranking up often seems like a slow and painful process.

- To be careful driving my Entity XF so I don't end up forking over almost $10,000 to Mors Mutual Insurance everytime I "slip" off the dock into the water. *ahem*

- The year I spent watching guys like Xpertthief have been paying off; not only with map familiarity, but useful tips and tricks, and plenty of hearty laughs.

- That I can't wait until I play this on my PC, so I can use a mouse and keyboard and _dramatically_ improve shooting and vehicle handling. :) I can't use a controller properly to save my life.

- Not to stand in the middle of major roads for more than a few seconds or I'll get trapped/run over endlessly by griefers.

- To spend my money wisely only on weapons I'm likely to use.

- That the in-game charges can really add up.

- That this game looks significantly better in-person than via YouTube (I know; "well duh!") lol

- That Watch Dogs can't hold a candle to GTA 5 in terms of playability and sheer fun (another "well, duh!")

- That the GTA 5 community desperately needs a Watch Dogs -> GTA 5 money transfer system. ;) (9+ million in Watch Dogs with virtually nothing to spend it on.) lol

I would gladly pay for all GTAO DLC; it would weed out 75% of the entitled crybabies on here, and the mature people who can afford to pay for new content could have civil conversations.

me too, not the sh*t we've been getting though

but if it's anything like the 2 paid DLC's they made for GTA 4 it would be a day one purchase for me

I have learned that 99% of the users here are idiots.

so that means there's a 99% chance that you are an idiot XD

That after a year, people still send sexist messages to female characters (regardless of the player's real gender.)

Also.. That it's satisfying as hell to kill them or just creep them out big time.

I learned not to trust people in 1v1 GTA races

I have learnt that when a crew says it “dominates public sessions”, what that actually means is they are a collection of weak and inept players who are having to hide in large groups to get player kills. They target solo players or small groups and feel like badasses after triple-teaming them. It's a great victory when all the other players leave the session. And the crew celebrates by coming together to thrust and jerk.

What I learned:

Cash is king

Cash is god

Worship the almighty dollar

R* is quick to fix money glitches but slow to fix issues that cost me game money.

Players think that if your avatar is female, you must be female as well.

999 out of 1000 female avatars are controlled by a dude.

There are a lot of desperate male virgins out there that hit on my female avatar.

Ignorance is bliss. If you tell the truth the virgins feel cheated. Just dump their friends request in the bin. They deal better with plain rejection.

Kiddies are obsessed with their K/D ratio. They will blow you up even when you are friends with them, just for stats padding. I dumped all kiddies from my friends list. And I vowed never to accept friend request from kiddies.

Well I still don't know what a Gerald is...

He's a character in GTA Online.
-__________________-
Oh, so I'm an idiot?
LightningLord, I'll give you a hint. "WTF is a Gerald?" is a running gag here in the GTAO section.
I don't get it.
Go play a couple of his missions. My hint to you is: "Pay attention to the ending cutscenes."He says "Alright, cool", and that's it.lol okay this quote train has to stop. LightningLord, I'll break it down for you nicely and for anyone who doesn't understand.

The joke is WTF is a Gerald?

The meaning is this: in one of the ending cutscenes, Gerald says "now keep your mouth shut about me, you hear?" People on the forums turned that into a running gag. Apparently we're supposed to keep our mouths shut about him. As a result, whenever there's a thread or ANY mention of Gerald, someone will respond with the phrase, "WTF is a Gerald?" as if they do not know him like most criminals do when they're playing dumb to avoid 'snitching'.

Is that clear enough for you?

Yeah it's clear enough. I feel like an idiot for not realizing that.

That people will argue about stupid sh*t in the gta forums.... biggest thing i learned...

i've learned that microtransactions can really ruin anything

even something as great as GTA

well done microtransactions, you may have won this battle but ...

ah hell what am I talking about people are idiots the war is lost as well XD

Microtransactions haven't ruined GTA at all, they have literally zero effect on the gameplay.

yeah you're right they don't influence prices and payouts at all

I mean 9 K for doing a rip deal and killing 27 people is totally reasonable especially considering that this 9K could buy you loads of cool stuff, like a 6 thousand dollar T shirt and 3 thousand dollar pair of jeans XD

and they certainly don't have any impact on R* bug fixing policy

I mean it's not like they rush to fix any moneyglitches while leaving game breaking glitches in place for months on end.

so yeah what was I thinking really XD
