Can you pistol whip if you use a controller?

Hi, I was hoping someone could answer these two questions.

Can you use pistol whip (hitting a person with your gun) if you play GTA IV on console?

And if you play it on PC with a controller is it possible to pistol whip people in the game? (i know you cant normally but please someone give it a try with a controller and let me know)

 

ALSO: The button for pistol whipping might not be the shoot button so try a few others like 2nd punch or kick

 

Im making a mod for PC to enable you to use pistol whip so it would really help if someone could answer these questions

In order to pistol whip someone, you must be right next to them basically with a pistol in hand. Just aim at them and press shoot button
