I would love for Wu, Gangstarr, Eric B & Rakim, Bone Thugs and Public Enemy... but one thing R* has been great with (except IV, I thought besides a couple tracks) capturing the essence of a location with its rap music. They need to stick to the west coast vibe... Mac Dre, 'Pac, E-40, NWA, Snoop, ect. need to be in or have more music. I seriously thought they dropped the ball with the east coast vibe in LC... I wanted to do drive-bys listening to RA The Rugged Man or some f*cking Wu Tang (seriously no Wu in any GTA game?).

 

If you want some new stuff you have all of Odd Future, The Game had some great tracks pre g-unit, Stones Throws has some great west coast artist and a lot more. I've been disappointed with the music since IV, maybe I'm expecting to much.

I haven't really heard any hard west coast rappers in a while. I mean, we got Jay Rock, Schoolboy Q, Game, Nipsey Hussle, Kendrick Lamar, Dom Kennedy, Tyga, and Pac Div, but anybody else, they're too underground to even have recognition. GTA IV did it right with adding names such as Freeway, Maino, and a lot of those underground dudes. Radio stations in Liberty City games are always raw. Lol

I mean it's had a massive resurgence and I'm not talking about the "music" that's on the radio. Gotta dig a little deeper. So many quality albums have been dropped the last 3 years it's insane. Just as good if not better then 90's. Ya the dark ages of the late 90's and 00's made everyone think hip hop was dead.
