You need to change your settings in SP. Then when you join online it will take you to free aim.

 

Just to reiterate, because R* is filled with morons, the ONLY way to adjust the setting is in single player.

you AA noobs would cry for your mommy before assuming the fetal position after spending a minute in a FA DM XD

no like i said before freeaim only counts for bullets and range from target. Im an auto aim player with over 10000 free aim kills. Explosives, sniper rifles, rpg and minigun are all free aim. If you run too far from my auto aim but i can still target you and my target reticle still turn red when you run into it, FREEAIM!

So much more to getting kills then simply locking on or not. Using the terrain is key. Also cops become 3rd parties in free roam battles.

Assisted aim - full lock on

Traditional GTA - 50% FA, 50% AA

Free Aim - no lock on (obviously)

I like in AA how it's easy to get kills if you stay out of lock on range. If your good with shooting FA from distance or your good with a sniper you can be the King of the AA Lobby. Also, I always wonder why people bother to shoot from the car in AA. Most suck at it and all you need to do is exit car and lock on kill while they zoom by at a 100 mph. I don't find many people in AA have good tactics other than the roll and lock on. Some guys are the kings of the roll and lock.

I prefer free aim though I honestly wish Rockstar would have just made all of online either full auto aim or free aim. That way, the lobbies wouldn't be split up. Basically, I'm forced to play on AA lobbies (which I don't mind, I just prefer FA) because FA lobbies are f*cking dead.

It would have been good if lock on was disabled for aiming at vehicle occupants. Big mistake for not removing it cause it makes drive bys nearly impossible.

All is fair when the war is on. Whatever it takes to get the job done. You sound like a person that would try to take a break during a fistfight. Oh its not fair because you hit him first but he hit you harder. Get real. You are the very scum that makes freeaim pointless. You feel you are superior because you Choose to manually aim when in actuality, you would just get destroyed if the aim settings did not get divided lobbies. If free aim and autoaim played in the same rooms, yall would be the most butthurt, controller smashing crybabies in the world. And i would snipe and rpg you all day just so you can feel its even. If its in the game its fair. You think the army is going to stop using their weapons simply because the enemies dont have the same firepower. I Think Not! You gon get shot stabbed blown up or run over. Whatever gets the job done.

Yeah, it removes the vehicle component of battle in an AA lobby. Unless you are dead on with that drive by aim. I've run into some bastards that are damn good at the drive by.
