Jeansowaty
I'm kinda iffy about the idea. Whereas the 90s are like, my favorite decade of all time, I'm afraid they would have ballsed it up by putting the primary focus on the music towards Grunge sh*t instead of proper electronic music. The 90s were literally THE decade for all sorts of electronic stuff. There should be like 5 electronic genres stations AT LEAST judging by how many genres there were at the time. Drum and Bass/Jungle, Techno, Trance, Hardcore/Hardstyle, Synthpop, UK Garage, IDM/Experimental Electronica, Downtempo, Eurodance... THAT is what defines the 90s to me. sabitsuki and The Tracker 1

Those genres will definitely be represented given that they're a British company, after all. They've proven it recently with stations like iFruit Radio and Still Slipping Los Santos which play genres that, while not necessarily popular in the US, are really popular across the pond. If anything, Volition would more likely go that grunge route should they set a Saints Row in the 90s since they have a more American lens on things. Good luck having current Volition do that. They seem to be headed in a different direction. sabitsuki
RamsaySaint77
1999 had the Y2K Aesthetic look Would love to see Rockstar parody that in a game set in 1999 And just look at the Imac and Ibook of the time The Tracker and WanteD1

Why not have both? Compare GTA V with Saints Row 2022 and tell me which feels more down to earth regarding US culture. Edited April 24 by The Tracker

That's easy. Gta v is what rich british people think us culture is like. Saints row is what modern day liberal americans delude themselves into thinking what us culture is like. Neither of them are really all that down to earth though. Edited April 24 by sabitsuki Zello

Idk, GTA V is definitely more down to earth with early 2010's US than Saints Row is with early 2020s. Edited May 7 by The Tracker

Respectfully disagree but I personally feel Saints Row, particularly 1, 2, and 3 have a better grasp of what's more commercially popular in the US musically than both GTA IV and V. GTA has always included very niche British/European genres like D&B, Grime and Trance and artists like All Saints, Mis-Teeq and N-Joi on Non Stop Pop, for example, while the earlier Saints Row games tend to have genres like Pop Punk, EDM, metalcore and more urban contemporary hits, which is the sort of stuff you'd find more commonly across the US in general. I think the only GTA to come close to that sense of endemic American culture music-wise is probably San Andreas, since guys like DJ Pooh curated the whole soundtrack. Idk man I just think Saints Row would definitely be more likely take the more predictable route of a Grunge-based soundtrack than R* based on the song selections they've done throughout all the Saints Row games. Because I utterly hate Grunge Nah, my worries is that R* would give it more attention than to the electronic genres. Yeah San Andreas definitely the most in touch with popular American music from the early 90s like Grunge, Hip Hop, R&B, even House Gta V definitely didn't feel that way though, the only station that felt in touch was Radio Los Santos, I was surprised Rockstar didn't have Skrillex or other Dubstep guys considering Dubstep was rather popular circa 2009-2013 but I guess cause they're brits they hated American Dubstep, Rebel Radio is mostly made up of classic country rather than Modern and Non Stop Pop FM has a lot of 80s pop songs and LSRR despite being a "Classic Rock" Station, it feels more like a classic pop station with some rock in there Rockstar was always generally more into the obscure or underground stuff especially in Europe since that's their main music taste, I mean just look at all of the new stations they've added into Online which are mainly underground or electronic focused, like you said Gta is how Brits see Americans so they don't have as much of a connection with our culture unlike Volition who are America, though not even Volition is perfect, their depiction is a little out there as well. Rockstar only really go with popular music when it's a period piece game like Vice City or San Andreas Edited May 7 by RamsaySaint77
