How do you convert the cars from IV to Sa?

Just interested in case I want to port a specific car.

Well after re-doing the poll it is a complete mess now.... I guess the interest in San Andreas mods have tragically dropped...

So next person to post can request any car they like to be converted.

Okay, I'm doing this little experiment:

 

Just uploaded Infernus Classic to GTA Inside. I can see that people are more interested in downloading super cars than regular cars. So now I just rushed this car as fast as I could, just to do it before Automan, and see if I still get around 500 downloads compared to his 5000 with bad reflections, f*cked up sizes and no tuning compatibility...

Well... I think we've got two reasons, why it's so popular (asides from quality aspect). The first one is that it's a new vehicle, from recently released DLC, so it's obvious that non-V players are more interested in this rather than "old stuff", which is in the game (or gtainside) for longer time. The second reason is the design of these "HD classics". To be honest... I'm not a fan of this sort of cars (I love more "everyday vehicles" or "something luxury, classy"), but the styling of Infernus Classic (Diablo with Testarossa front) and Turismo Classic (pretty much 85% of F40 design with decent clues of Lister Storm... without spoiler) (and yes, I didn't mention the GP1 - because it's pretty much same as Tyrus... but without long-tail and some racing elements) is better than I expected.

I like a lot your cpnversion , i like the normal cars because it add a feeling of normality and i really would have liked if you retextured and give anew feeling to old sa cars like fixed polygons etc.

Hi, _F_, this is probably my first post in this thread but believe me when I say u have unrivalled conversion skills. I.have all your conversions installed in my game. However, I don't think it's cool to call Automan's reflection or the lack of tuning support in his conversions f*cked up. You are both good, but with different styles.

This is a very good conversion, btw, but sedans and 'normal' coupes and compacts are better since all other moders are only going for supercars.

Nope. Technically Automans Cars are wrong and f*cked up. thats not a style, thats sloppy converting.

I haven't checked this topic much recently but I'm still going for a full replacement pack of these fully game compatible non f*cked up reflections (it's the first requirement for me to have proper reflections) vehicles. You're doing the most complete conversions so far (and the damage parts look really damn good).

I lurked and posted in this topic for a while, and all I can say is Birdie's conversion quality is top noch. As you may know, quality and consistency are my main priority when choosing conversion mods, and Birdie serves it all with proper vehicle reflections, SA style damage (with fender damage as bonus), and tuning compability so the quality on each car he convert is consistent to the vanilla SA counterpart. I can see that Automan has unique kitbash creation, but his attention to quality always make me avoid downloading his mod. And this is why I don't think Birdie need to be jealous with Automan, because his quality still sells.

 

(P.S.: I'd DL that Infernus Classic if it doesn't have that gaudy front splitter and spoiler).

Tell me 'bout it. I'm not sure if it's good idea to have this (I know, Birdie mentioned it's because of extras can't be damageable or something like that) on classic supercar. If it's something related to racing like Tyrus I think it's okay... but it's not fitting the styling of this car. As an ideal option I found to use similar approach with that used on Ruiner, Intruder and Schafter - two variants, one without front splitter and more than half of spoilers and second one which we have released at this time.

It's just my personal opinion.

I need to update the handling of the Infernus anyways, so when I do that, I might actually remove it. The reason why I didn't do 2 variants was because there was just this one splitter that had to be on the bumper, and to do 2 versions just for that was kind of pointless, so for the sake of uniqueness I put it.

 

Oh also I wanted to share this picture of almost every vehicle that I've ever converted :)

It must first observe that my conversion is intended to provide all the vehicles of GTA-V for Misterix 4, as I provided all vehicles from GTA-IV for Misterix 3.

Therefore do not convert very-high-poly, but only on high-poly.

Many consider this low-poly, but you have to take into account the old-gen xbox360/ps3.

Many do not appreciate this because in many countries not many can afford GTA-V, and like to have as much as possible a part of it on SA.

As texture I try not to go we select the 512x512 -except the paintjob- if possible.

All this because the SA graphics engine would not be able to manage all vehicles with dff/txd models heavier than that.

.

For tuning parts I picked the gta4 method, that have incorporated tuning parts as extras in the dff.

It might sound like a contradiction, but the tuning parts would be a lot more, and there should be a mod for manage them -perhaps cleo-, it would be heavier.

(As is known in SA there are only 6+6 tuning vehicles in garage).

In addition, the vehicles around are much more varied, and tuning in the garage would

an exclusive only the player ...

.

The reflections are of two types, specular and environment.

I should state that I do two versions of reflexes, and mobile SA is very similar to SA style, so I do not see what the problem is (should only remove the alpha from the glasses, in fact, in txd).

However, specular everyone is using it, I at the lowest possible value, 60, while SA typically uses it to 72.

.

I decided to use environment to make it more like SA V, rather than transform V in SA. At this point we convert the V to GTa1, so let's first... :/

Obviously, the less need to enhance the SA graphic engine with an ENB-series with low demands, to appreciate the reflection environment.

Even the use of ENB may be a contradiction, because it weighs down the system much, but something must grant the view! XD

.

As for the plate, the same speech; use those GTA-V.

Do not use carpback/carplate because they do not like, as I do not like plastic reflections SA...

(I must say that ZM2 has a function that has 3dsmax, specular 'suffused', that is, the clear part of the reflection goes to white, rather than towards a clear gradation of color; this complicates the use of reflections sa-style, because you need to import the original materials SA....)

.

However, if we all did the same thing, it would be enough just a modder.

And one thing is not sh*t just because they do not like us... ;)

In my opinion, without a dynamic collision they are all bad! :D

It was necessary to have at least two levels of collision, part_dam and part_dam2...

I must say that when there are few vertex there is little to do, but also when they are so many it can not work well, because they need to select well a long, long, long time.

Sure it could make a vehicle a month, but I'm too old for this! XD

Automan explained that the game does not allot enough slots for tune parts for all cars he makes. So he decided to GTA 4 all his cars (make all tune parts to be extras).

Sorry I did't check the thread to the end and consequently didn't see he has answered your question.

_F_ you are probably right. You should work on the latest DLC cars. Like Elegy and Comet Retro, and cars like Truffade Nero. I noticed those seem to be most popular. And your cars unlike Automan's can be tuned.

Every converter does what they think is and looks the best, and that's why we do the things the way we do. At the end though it's still you guys, the downloaders who get to decide which ones you like more and want to use, even if it has some issues.

 

And to shift some attention away from this useless talk, I'll post this update. This "only once" special request that I did is basically ready and I will continue accordingly to the poll.

Are you gonna use "pop-up headlights concept" like it's on ZR-350 or gonna be headlights in "fixed popped up" stage just like on Ruiner?
