The Nicest Marmot Bath of Dudeville is a huge, safe nation, ruled by Jeff Lebowski with a fair hand, and remarkable for its rum-swilling pirates, keen interest in outer space, and devotion to social welfare. The compassionate, democratic population of 868 million Dudveins hold their civil and political rights very dear, although the wealthy and those in business tend to be viewed with suspicion.

The enormous, liberal, outspoken government juggles the competing demands of Education, Welfare, and Healthcare. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of The Rug. The average income tax rate is 86.9%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The powerhouse Dudvain economy, worth 93.8 trillion Occasional Acid Flashbacks a year, is dominated by the Tourism industry, with significant contributions from Information Technology, Book Publishing, and Trout Farming. State-owned companies are reasonably common. Average income is an impressive 108,118 Occasional Acid Flashbacks, and distributed extremely evenly, with little difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

86.9 percent income tax! I'd revolt.

The enormous, corrupt government juggles the competing demands of Defense, Law & Order, and Education. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Jones City. The average income tax rate is 97.8%.

I put their money towards good stuff and things.

I have no military now. Lol. I love how extreme issues are. I thought it was a simple tax cutback, not cutting out the entire military. Lol oh well.

the point of the game is to play with extreme outcomes.

most of the time.

if you're trying to play a 'realistic' kind of nation, you're doing it wrong.

My nation's stats are almost maxed out, is surprising to be honest. I just ignore dumb issues and i am pretty laid back when it comes to laws.

Can we just agree that my country is awesome?

Your population hasn't even hit a billion yet, that's why your stats look so good. I'm pretty sure the higher the population, the more score you gain/lose from decisions on issues for each field.

Oh and Diablo, what issue gave you the forename thing?

I have two nations that are doing pretty well in terms of trends as well. Certainly not the best, but it's improving every day ;)

you're actually not close to maxed out, yet.

there's still a few levels for you to climb in all categories.

"superb" is nice but above that you could attain the ranks of "world benchmark," "excessive," and "widely abused," even "corrupt" levels of Rights and Freedoms. also, "powerhouse" isn't even the best economy. wake me up when you've reached "all-consuming" ;)

Oh and Diablo, what issue gave you the forename thing?

it's based on my National Animal which I happen to have chosen as the White Russian. you know, because The Big Lebowski.

it was some issue based on whether or not people were legally allowed to change their birth name, and I said of course, and so everyone is apparently picking my national animal as their new first name

well it's interesting to know where you stand because it reminds you of the possibilities.

the 3 main categories range from 0 to 100.

I'm only at like 87 for Civil and Economic liberties. I let people do a lot, but not anything.

your people can be pretty free but it depends on what kind of "freedom" you're willing to accept and grant. there's still a lot of room for allowing your citizens to do things that (which technically improve civil rights) are pretty crazy in the name of sovereignty. I've restricted the rights of the church because I want a secular society and not a religious one, so my Civil rights could be higher there. I've restricted my military but maintain the local police, so at some point I've had to restrict vigilante justice. I don't let people go around taking the law into their own hands so I've limited Civil rights there as well.

it's fun to see how it works.
