Actually yeah, I really love the curves of the 6. It fits much easier and better in my hand because of them.

My iPhone 5 looks so odd now and feels so much heavier. It's a really noticeable upgrade for me going from the 5 to the 6.

Really love fingerprint ID. Feels so good to just use that to access my phone and verify purchases I make on iTunes/App Store instead of entering my password.

Waiting for my leather case to come in, in brown, and I picked up this screen cleaner: http://store.apple.com/ca/product/HFN22VC/A/whoosh-screen-shine-duo-screen-and-device-cleaner?fnode=8a229990ba64a36ea90669b209b4348a8ddabbf9dc7171d404cc6573632b9746500a244b19987f83ec2a679b1419ac1ebf2cbbee13139dbbf7a2d1d4572cca4a84fb1e5912aa261f80290739ea0bc552397a0e47b3b4b84e6eb2e81a92eb8973a1b85e91c542a6877607f15e04eaf105

It's pretty well rated and has an anti-fingerprint coating. Of course, it probably doesn't last very long but better than nothing at all.

My brother upgraded from an HTC One to a Nexus 6 and it looks HUGE in his hands. That thing is nearly a tablet. I don't know how he'll carry it around, especially as he is prone to dropping his phones and cracking their screens. He cracked his HTC One screen within weeks of getting it.

I've been debating on going back to iPhone. Just don't like having to use iTunes bc it's horrid on Windows IMO right now I have a Galaxy Alpha(AT&T) Nexus 5(Google), literally unlocked my boot loader and down graded it back to 4.4, 5.0 just sucks!

Anyway, how is your experience with it so far? I really been holding off bc of the fisher price UI. iOS7 was way better than iOS8, even though it was skumorphic design still liked it better.

Disclaimer: My daily driver when it comes to smartphones has always been an iPhone. Limited - first-hand - exposure to Android.

I am pretty in love with this phone. It's a huge step-up for me, coming from the 5; the bigger Retina display, Touch-ID, better battery life than my 5, Apple Pay, etc. iOS 8 is okay. I like some of the features it has added and I think if you are coming from Android, you will appreciate aspects of it; customization for keyboards, widgets, interactive notifications. I got some nice Sennheiser Momentum's back in November and when I listened to some music on them on the iPhone 6, I noticed a bump in quality from the 5. Do not let the specs of the iPhone 6 throw you off. It's a really smooth experience with great performance.

You ever considered jailbreaking your iPhone?

Guessing you keep all of your music on your HDD, thus there is no way around using iTunes? Personally, I've barely had to use it because of streaming purchases and Spotify. But I get the hate for iTunes, especially on Windows. It is a much better experience on OSx. I've noticed iTunes runs a little better on Windows for me. Probably because I upgraded my desktop back in September.

If you can get over your issues with iOS 8 and iTunes, I'd go for it. My brother has always been an Android guy. He recently got a Nexus 6 after debating getting that or the iPhone 6, like me, but ultimately got the Nexus because it had a bigger display and he couldn't get the 6 Plus. The 6 Plus has some features that the regular 6 does not have. Landscape mode, really great battery life for an iPhone (2915 mAh as opposed to the 6's 1810 mAh), better camera. Apple will improve iOS 8, I've no doubt. Been reading that there is an iOS update coming sometime in March.

Any other questions, ask.

EDIT: Here are some reviews of the iPhone 6 from Android users.

Thanks for the reply! My first Android was the Cliq 2, was fine until Motorola put Gingerbread on it and couldn't be rooted at all. T-Mobile refused to upgrade it bc it started screwing up, so I went to Sprint and got the 4S. But we know how their services are with their towers being extremely out of date. I'm just used to Android, but would be willing to change it up and since I have the Nexus 5 I can switch back and forth.

Does the 6 use nano sim or micro? My Alpha uses nano(Which rendered my Nexus useless until I got an adapter from Amazon. I also considered the N6 but I don't really wanna Phablet lol although I've always loved the Motorola rings widget! Former Photon Q 4G too. Anywho, my contract is up with AT&T in July I'll look into iPhone 6.

To answer your question I did jailbreak my 4S but put it back, wasn't too impressed. i Tunes needs an over haul it's still based on very old architecture when it was first brought out IMO. I could get used to it and yeah my music is on my HDD I have ton of variety when it comes to that.

The iPhone 6 uses the Nano-Sim. iPhone's have been Nano since the iPhone 5.

Jailbreaking has come a long way since the 4S, I reckon. Try looking into it again, there is a nice community on reddit for modding the iPhone. Themes are here: http://www.reddit.com/r/iOSthemes/

Main one is here: http://www.reddit.com/r/jailbreak/

I, however, have chosen not to jailbreak mine. Last time I did was with the original iPhone. This set-up here: http://www.reddit.com/r/iOSthemes/comments/2rbxyu/only_one_page_setup/

I would honestly consider jailbreaking for something like that.

And yeah, with any switch it takes some getting used to. Look into it, I'd say to check out more videos or look online but it's hard to find something that isn't biased one way or the other. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. I am, personally, very happy with the iPhone 6. Glad Apple finally made the display bigger. The 6 is a perfect size for me. I do find myself wishing I had the 6 Plus sometimes, though. That is solely for the better battery and some of the other minor, but nice, features that only the 6 Plus has due to the bigger display. If you actually hold the iPhone 6 and it feels slippery in your hand, I had that same feeling. Generally get that with any new smartphone. The Apple Leather case is pretty low key and really gave it some grip. Happy with it.

Oh, forgot to add. iOS 8 added the ability, finally, for apps to talk to each other. So iOS now has the ability to automate tasks through an app like this: https://itunes.apple.com/ca/app/workflow-powerful-automation/id915249334?mt=8

EDIT: Picked up this great app that released today. Suggest some of you guys look into it - https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/timeline-news-in-context/id948867534?ls=1&mt=8

Anyone else have an iPad Air 2? I kinda impolsivly bought a 128GB Cellular model and now I'm looking for some cool apps since I haven't had an iPad in three years.

Yeah, I've had an iPad Air since last January.

I am not a big gamer but I absolutely recommend this: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/papers-please/id935216956?mt=8

It's an iPad only game.

Currently the only thing I can think of. Most apps are iPhone/iPad. But most apps do look much better in their iPad version.

Maybe you could purchase a tablet stylus and also download a drawing/doodling/painting app. It's loads of fun on tablets since they have the advantage of a larger screen.

[Not related to iPhone 6 but the iThread is dead and this thread isn't]

I was really skeptical when I bought my iPad Air 2 because the last time I had an iPad (three years ago with the 3rd gen iPad) I very rarely used it and it was a waste of money.

This time around, I'm actually using my iPad quite a bit and I rarely touch my MacBook Pro. With iCloud and Continuity, using an iPad with an iPhone and Mac just goes so amazingly well together.

I'm addition, the App Store has so many great iPad apps that do such a great job using the iPads larger screen and power. Wether it's using a photo editor or playing a game, everything is so fluid and actually fun to do.

So, I was talking to my mother earlier today. She has an upgrade coming in the next few months, I believe. She mentioned that she would be willing to take my iPhone 6, upgrade herself to either an iPhone 6 64GB or iPhone 6 Plus 64GB, and give it to me. She only uses her phone for calling/texting and checking emails, so a 16GB iPhone 6 is all good for her. She knows I use it for a lot of stuff and need the space.

Was really surprised she offered. Hope it pans out. I am really thinking of getting the 6 Plus if this happens because of the much improved battery capacity and, of course, the bigger screen. Reachability makes it okay to use and grip is much improved with the Apple Leather Case. I suspect the initial worries I had, won't be an issue.

How has your experience been with the 6 Plus, SimsDaniel916? Think I should go it over the 6? I love the 6 and the size is just perfect but for the greater battery life I'd get out of it, I think the Plus would be well worth it.

The first day and especially the first hours, it will likely feel really awkward. Right when I took my 6 Plus out of the box I thought I had maken a mistake by getting a phone that's way too big. Once I turned it on and saw the beautiful 1080p Display and started using it, all of my regrets went away. It is also great being able to heavily use my phone throughout the day and not worry about the batter making it until I get home.

In addition, just about everything you do on the 6 Plus is so much better. Wether you're reading an article or playing a game, it's great on the iPhone 6 Plus. There is also Optical Stabilization with the iPhone 6 Plus's camera which will make already great pictures look even better.

In all, once you move past the beginning awkwardness and get used to the larger display, you should love it. Personally, I don't think I would ever go back to a smaller phone and when I pick up my old iPhone 4, I find it amazing that I once used a phone so tiny.

Thanks. I think I will definitely go for the 6 Plus. Just need to find out when my mother is doing her upgrade. I know it's not soon but I reckon sometime in the next couple of months. The waiting game begins, haha. I am always anxious and excited to get my hands on new tech.

But I am not too bothered. I enjoy my 6 and have been getting by just fine with 16GB's. But with a higher capacity, I just won't have to care about getting by. I'll be able to use it without that in the back of my mind.

So Apple made 18 billion dollars from the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus in just 3 months and sold 74 million of them. I'm calling that 74 million farfetched. What appeals to people to these iphones?

Apple released stats in their earnings call to back up their claim of 74 million sales. On the first few days alone, iPhone 6's were sold in the millions. A nice number of those sales also come from China where the iPhone has been extremely popular with China's huge population.

Most people that move to larger phones find it weird at first but very quickly get accustomed to it, to the point that anything smaller seems weird. I remember upgrading from a 3.5 inch screen to a 4.7 inch Android 2 years ago; it seemed overly large at first, but I soon grew to love having the extra screen real estate. Now something with a 4 inch screen like the iPhone 5s feels ridiculously tiny.

Ultimately, the size jump will be jarring at first but you will most likely be happy in the long run. Unless you would like to use the phone strictly with one hand all of the time, of course, in which case a 5.5" screen will probably be too big unless you have very large hands.

Just my two cents.

Excuse me but i pay for my data usage who are this phone to tell me that this sucks big ass. Since this phones display is so good, lower quality settings look so sh*tty it's almost unwatchable and i watch a lot of youtube while outside

Today Apple announced the launch date and prices for the Apple Watch.

Even for Apple, the prices are unbelievably high. A stainless steel Apple Watch will run you $1,000 and a gold Apple Watch will cost.....$10,000!

I'm admittedly an Apple Fan boy but $250 for a damn leather strap with a buckle? $50 for a plastic band? Absolutely ridiculous.

I'll stick to having actual watches made by specialist companies in Switzerland, that will be worth more than £5 in a years time when the Apple Watch 2 comes out.

You'd have to be some kind of idiot to buy one.

Apple is probably the most obnoxious, retarded, and greedy company out there. Honestly, not even the most hardcore fan in the world would even look at that let alone buying the damn thing especially at that price. How can they charge you the standard version for the same price as a LED TV or a high end PC and the gold version for the price of a f*cking family car? $10,000? Honestly, if anyone in the world buys any of them, they don't have a brain, period. The sad thing is that you'll have to charge the damn thing at least 2-3 times a day or possibly more. I thought Rolexes were a waste of money, but now I can at least say that it doesn't need any charging at all and is pure quality unlike this garbage.

It's easy to say that when you don't have the money to buy it. People will buy them if they have the money. And why not? They want it, and they have the money. Who cares?

Actually, I reckon the market for £10k Apple Watches is almost nonexistent. Luxury watches are a status symbol first and foremost; a £1k smart watch might compete at the lower end of the market but I fail to see how one ten times that price is going to appeal to the kinds if people who'd normally buy a Breitling, Omega or Rolex.

I disagree, I believe the same people who buy gold iPads would be interested in the 10k gold Apple Watch. As you said, luxury watches are status symbol and nothing says status like having the most expensive possible iteration of the (soon to be popular) Apple watch.

I'm due an upgrade on my 4S, so gonna go for the iPhone 6 (inb4 sheep). At this point, I'm pretty keyed into the Apple ecosystem. I work on a Mac Pro, my home laptop is a Macbook Pro, I already have an iPad so it wouldn't make sense to go against that and get an Android.

I think you'd probably be right WRT the developing markets, where tech bling is definitely a status symbol. But I doubt they will have any tangible impact in the West where the history and legacy of the big luxury watch brands is far more significant than the "OMG GOLD" appeal of the Apple Watch. In the West I get the impression that those in a financial position to buy a £10k gold iWatch wouldn't really want to, and those who might be interested generally won't be in a position to.

Agreed, I think it would appeal more to the "Nouveau riche" in the East.

I thought the 6 was huge; though now using an iPhone 5 after using the 6, the 5 feels really small, like a kids toy.
