I've already posted FireEye's analysis of Apple Pay. The conclusion was "lots of scope for abuse". It's fundamentally no more secure on a protocol level than contactless credit cards and they're limited to £20 purchases across the UK and AFAIK most of Europe due to the scope for fraudulent use.

Plus the idea of whipping out a £1k phone to pay for your £2.99 coffee is the exact antitheists of operational security. And the iPhone fingerprint sensor can be fooled with sellotape and black paper. But it's cute that you think that Apple implementing it somehow makes it fundamentally more secure than when other companies do.

Heh, you honestly think all those comments I posted were serious? Why would I post them and suddenly change my views for no reason? That's the way I've always acted whenever an iPhone has come out since the 4. It's an overhyped piece of crap, since the past 4 years, and any sane person can see that. It's an overpriced phone, which ANY one can see that apart from Apple fanboys. Regardless, I still think it's a good phone that has it's flaws.

On to the next point. You seriously can't even take critisicm of your favourite product. Get the f*ck out of this forum if you're such a pussy because everyone else seems to handle it properly except you. I have a right to post my opinion, and if you don't like it, don't read it, stupid American.

Next point, NFC is a gimmick, enough said. I already told you not everyone is going to use this pay system even if their phone is NFC capable. If you think otherwise, you're the biggest idiot fanboy I've seen so far. And you clearly did not read my battery rant, so you are avoiding this subject as you know you cant even argue with it. Most of the people will be using their normal credit/debit card because it's EASIER and faster to use, enough said.

Lastly, the last paragraph is a load of nonsense lmao. You have to think about situations that can occur. For example, you are f*cked if you lose your phone, so it's a giant hassle right there. Secondly, what happens when you break your phone or significantly damage it and it doesn't work anymore? Hassle. You will need to get it

replaced or fix it. Excetera, excetera. And those card details will be in your phone, still.

Unlike you, I actually have no issue with PERSONAL opinions and I can actually take criticism.. What you said in your last post weren't opnions, they were false statements in which I was correcting you on. Get it right.

For example, you said that if you loose your phone, you are f*cked. Not surprisingly from you, that is also false. Apple has placed precautions for this as your fingerprint is required and you can remotely wipe and or lock up your phone.

I have absolutely no problem with you expressing your OPINION, but, if you continue throwing out false statements I'm simply going to correct you.

It's ironic telling me I'm making false statements because your beloved fingerprint sensor was hacked in the same week the damn thing was being thrown in people's faces when the 5s came out. It has vulnverablities, therefore not secure at all.

Apple Pay, the most terrible idea Apple ever invented. Got children? Make sure you place your precious turd somewhere else so the kids won't

get it and break it. You are a teacher? Mke sure you keep it with you all day so those junkies can't steal.

Fingerprint? Make sure you keep your fingers safe from chopped off or burn them by an accident.

With great dicktator, comes with great responsibilities.

Lmao. It's already having problems. The article even says that paying by a normal credit/debit card is not having that problem, so it's definitely a problem on Apple's end. Flop debut.

"Make sure you place your precious turd somewhere else so the kids won't get it and break it."

The same can be said for any device/high valued item. When you input your credit card, it doesn't just float away so if something happens to your iPhone you can just simply go back to your card.

"You are a teacher? Mke sure you keep it with you all day so those junkies can't steal."

Unless those so called "junkies" cut the teachers fingers off and manage to get the teachers password, the teacher wouldn't have any security issues. Even if the so called junkies did, you can remote wipe an iPhone.

Sims, you don't seem to realises that you can cheat the Apple fingerprint sensor with sellotape, paper and toner. It WA's the work of all of five minute for a security researcher to lift a print off the screen with toner and tape, back it on paper and trick the sensor into unlocking the phone.

Fingerprint sensors (unless you're talking far more advanced ones) are inherently less secure than an 8-character alphanumeric password. They don't require time or high degrees of processing power to crack. You can't set a kill-switch on and fingerprint as the readers are too unreliable and prone to false positive activation when other objects pass over them. They're a classic case of sacrificing security for convenience.

Remote wiping is only useful from the moment you know your phone has been stolen. Which could be hours or even days in some situations. It would only take a reasonably competent attacker a few minutes to drain your accounts.

I completely understand that Apple Pay isn't 100% secure but someone successfully managing to steal my phone then going through the trouble to try and copy my fingerprint? That is one huge "WHAT IF?" situation that has about a 2% chance of happening. If my iPhone were to somehow be stolen, it would definitely be by some drugged out moron with sticky fingers, not a security researcher.

Additionally, my iPhone is either in my pocket or in my hand when it's not at home charging which means if I end up loosing it or it gets stolen, I'm going to know very quickly and I would remotely access it immediately.

Apple Pay has it's vulnerabilities but the same can be said for any method of using electronic currencies. I accept that little risk using Apple Pay considering I am responsible for my phone and even if the very unlikely happens, I have insurance as everyone should have.

Umm, no it can't actually. If you had almost any high-valued item besides the iPhone, it wouldn't be a turd. You see, the iPhone is a turd. Other items are not.

What you fail to take into account is that if people start using phones as an extension of credit and debit cards, they'll naturally start attracting the same kind of organised criminal actors who currently go for debit and credit card details. The process for cheating the fingerprint scanner is very easy and once its done remote wiping can be disabled and other measures like IMEI swapping or countermeasures against police blocking can be incorporated. The same things that the people who buy stolen phones for resale already do. In fact with access to a decent thumbprint on the phone glass all of the above becomes much easier than on a phone locked by conventional means, especially if the phone has a boot loader password.

The fact that you fail to see Android's superiority is immature in itself, or at least shows that you are ill-informed.

Does it ever sadden you that your maturity can be matched by a second grader? Saying that someone is immature for picking a certain type of phone couldn't be any more idiotic.

I'll use whatever in the hell I want to use wether that be iPhone or Android.

Those are very valid points but currently, those scenarios are very unlikely. You also need a iCloud Password everytime you reset an iPhone and you need a iCloud password to turn off any remote wiping or tracking, not just a fingerprint scan as you said.

As previously said, these risks come with using any digital form of currency wether it be via an iPhone, Android or a credit card. I accept those risks as they are low risks and because I am completely covered from theft via insurance and the protection offered from my bank company.

I understand that people are very worried about their payment security and they can just choose not to use Apple Pay, hundreds of thousands of other people will.

But you see, choosing an iPhone over an Android phone is like choosing a $800 tube TV over a $800 dollar flatscreen with smart TV technology. You obviously lack the ability to comprehend the superiority that Android phones possess in nearly every way.

Also, the only thing I have to be saddened about right now is that you can't spell "whether".

I can see sivi locking this. Anyway the whole iOS vs android debate is pointless since it's all about personal preference. So Flūtter should totally stop it.

That would be fine with me. So much immaturity and ignorant people in here who are incapable of establishing a difference from personal preference and what's "The best".

An iShill calling others ignorant. That is truly the height of irony.

Anyway, I'm done with this thread for now. You must truly be a lost cause if you can't even see the facts. Enjoy your overpriced bendy phone with features from 2012.

I feel sorry if you buy into that 2012 BS.

Especially since the iPhone 6 gets better benchmarks than most of its android competitors

It was only a few weeks ago you could effectively brute-force iCloud passwords without even having to do so with an offline hash dump. I don't find the idea that iCloud accounts are a workable additional layer of security compelling.

Android phones. That's funny. You mean Samsung who are failing at making their own OS which is why the media does not give a crap when they release half a phone or Google whos phones are still behind in the hard ware levels but will catch up.

Google don't make phones.Yes your correct. My mistake.

As for the sprint lease option, so what?? Car lease companies have been doing this for many years. I know many people in business who do this and pay $130 a month plus all the normal upkeep and give it back after 4 years and get a new one.

Read the story, you can either buy it at the end, continue to lease or turn it back in. Exactly like car companies have been doing.

Would people Whinge if it was a Samsung deal or would it then be a different story??

Well it's true that Samsung don't make their own OS, but instead use the bloated touchwiz skin, but that's because they don't actually need to make their own OS. They just need to stick to the stock android like the nexus/moto phones which at the moment and for the future looks like a bleak future that's not going to take place. Now, the only thing iPhone is actually better at by miles is optimization, that's literally all. Everything else depends on the person of course. Samsung are the top dawg in terms of hardware department because the only thing not making their phones the fastest on the planet is lack of optimization, bloatware on touchwiz and stock android not being used.

I still prefer having my 4S and my backup Galaxy 5.

The new IPhones look like something the workers are making just to get a payday. I won't be the one giving them money.

What would be interesting, is if GooglE starts charging companies for using Android. It would be a smart move financially since the amount of phones running Android and those companies would be forced to pay for it for at least s year or two or more.

Why the hell would they do that? They makes a small fortune in ad revenue and app payments and the whole point of the OS is that it's free and open source.
