GTA IV one was the best. Although it would be cool if it said ''Mission Passed'' in black with it.

The jingles are unnecessary, whoosh is ok.

Unnecessary? go to hell.

its not a feature that decides if game is enjoyable. and the whoosh/'wasted' blow sounds nice to me, got a problem with that?

I have a feeling this should be a poll, see who really likes what.

Poll added. :)

dude you did it wrong though my thread wasn't about which game has the best mission passed sound... it was more like do you like the new "whoosh" effect or do you like the traditional jingles?

gta4 has the best. its kinda weird how 5 only has a woosh when its the only gta game with a score.

Lock n' Stock

I loved how IV executed the Mission Passed jingle as there was more than one and certain jingles would add to the effect of the mission.

The cool thing about GTA IV's is it changes depending on the mission. For example "Have a Heart" has a more sombre and regretful jingle than other missions to capture the mood Niko's in.

GTA V's "whoosh" is sh*t IMO. VC's is charismatic. The best from the 3D era.

Seconded. Really felt like you'd achieved something in the mission.

Didn't the beta version of GTA 5 had mission complete themes, according to this?

Would've been a lot better if that was used.

why would they even remove that. that would have been perfect and added some more gta ambiance to the game.

i dont even remember what the theme song sounded like.

Perhaps they're slowly trying to turn GTA into something that isn't GTA? Like how coke became New Coke and then back to old coke

Well most people are commenting on specific games. That's why I added the poll the way I did.

what kind of problems are those? please tell us about it.

I don't really think someone would find a tasteless sound more enjoyable, but anyways that's your opinion but still, go to hell.

The GTA III Mission complete jingle is still my fav. Because it's the only jinge that wasn't "cut" from the Intro Song.

i can see it now... "From the innovators who revolutionized Open World Free Roam, a game with a LINEAR storyline and CHECKPOINT specific, achievement oriented gameplay. You can drive any car you want, as long as it's a super cars, with unrealistic handling, or an SUV. in our demo, i drove the Baller for a little while, but then i saw the Thugster coming around the corner and thought i should try that out. Players may remember a similar vehicle called the Patriot, from previous games. They Also have brought back the Kuruma from GTA III, but this time it's got a new look

They will also bring Perennial back, but instead of making it family van it will look like this:

japvan-ugly.jpg

It will come with epic "Japaneese Funny Epic Stuff for Geeks" DLC.

I like SA jingle honestly. But... I WILL admit that GTA IV had an amazing set of jingles and such. It was so cool to hear the ambient sounds in the pause menu and stuff. GTA V is just.. bland. Now, it does have some hidden tracks in there that is okay, but they're not present enough. Like, it wasn't until I played online Survivals and new missions that I heard some variations of tracks. What up with that?

And also, has anyone heard these ambient tracks from IV? Here's a video below.

In GTA V some ambient songs were added in updates so that may be why you didn't hear them before.

And I love those themes in GTA IV, you guys know that one that play in multiplayer? I think it's the only time ambient music plays during gameplay.

well I find those kind of sounds interesting in a matter of sound designing. I love the ambience of 'switching..' mode, death's "snapshots", and especially love this evil whoosh when the R* logo dissapears at the very start of the game. I also like the GTA IV/RDR kind of jingles, but its not that im coplaining. I like both of effects and dont see that such a detail ruined something. its good that they experiment and dont stick to whats profitable like EA or Actvision.

Drunken Cowboy

Those Vice City ones are nostalgia loaded, but I really liked how the GTA IV and EFLC changed dependent on how impacting the mission was.

As a metalhead, the TLaD ones were my favorite, the way the guitar and harmonica mimic a motorcycle engine, and the real somber, whistly theme when just ending a tragic story mission. Most all of them were pretty good and captured the essences of their respective games.

Except V. Anyone who lauds over that crappy, ambient electronic music that pollutes the game and the online should be beaten with hammers.
