i think the "WHOOSH" in GTA V is so lame. :/ why did they get rid of the traditinoal mission passed jingles anyway?

I prefer the actual song. I'd rather hear music as a reward rather than the sound of a speeding car going by.

Yeah I agree with you UT, really not loving all these new changes R* made in this game.

Nothing felt better than listening to the sound of the song, and actually memorizing it so once you pass it you either hum along with it or something along those lines, wasn't that different either in GTA IV but instead of humming I just tapped along with it.

Definitely Vice City. But San Andreas has the best mission completed theme IMO.

i know right. and what's amazing about GTA IV version of this is, it was dynamic. it changed sometimes according to the "theme" of the current passed mission or the current episode of the game. for example towards the end of the game there was a certain mission where things started getting real uncomfortable for Niko and Roman in the storyline, and the mission passed tune would change to a more bitter version. did anyone else notice that?

Definitely Vice City...

Vice City has got to be my personal favorite, especially seeing as whenever I complete a menial or big task in real life, that song plays in my head. Crazy cool.

I prefer the IV ones. I just hate the new "whoosh" in GTA5.

I love the Vice City one. Like a guy a few posts up, I could have just gone to the shop and when I return that just is there in my head (luckily I don't see a huge mission passed GUI).

I loved how IV executed the Mission Passed jingle as there was more than one and certain jingles would add to the effect of the mission.

The cool thing about GTA IV's is it changes depending on the mission. For example "Have a Heart" has a more sombre and regretful jingle than other missions to capture the mood Niko's in.

GTA V's "whoosh" is sh*t IMO. VC's is charismatic. The best from the 3D era.

The whoosh is the kind of sound effect that belongs on a crappy cell phone game when you complete a level.

The mission passed screen in V is just bad. It was bad in TBoGT already and I have no idea why they brought it back. RDR had mission scoring too, but at the same time kept the concept of end mission jingles.

It's quite confusing. R* tried to make the open world game/story as seamless as possible, with MP3-style transitions between cutscenes and gameplay, but once you finish a mission you are greeted with an immersion breaking list all over the screen. I also loved how IV, TLaD, TBoGT and RDR used different end mission jingles to fit the mission's outcome, but nope, V doesn't have that either.

Jingles needs to be done in the next installment, wether its a spin off or a new main title, I hate the boring annoying Woosh from GTA V. And not just that, but with the even MORE annoying mission completion check marks... It feels like a boring school test I had to complete with that boring sound and mission completion marks like this:

You weren't shooting - Bronze

You drove a fast car, not a slow car - Bronze

You did not kill 30 enemies - Bronze

you did not suck my cock - Bronze

I hate that. I don't care how good or bad I was in a mission, just stop giving me that crap. I want R' to bring back the classic 3D era mission completion, with it saying ''MISSION PASSED'' and a nice jingle sound going. It makes me happy to know that I completed the mission

They should have left it simple. 3D games jingles were the best if you ask me.

Listen.

Sounds like something in The Sims when you complete a task. No offense :D

Didn't the beta version of GTA 5 had mission complete themes, according to this?

I believe so. I don't understand why R* removed them. Sure better than what we got.

They might've made them before they decided "screw this, we'll make the mission complete noise sound like a speeding locomotive going by you and put all the custom music into that annoying score".

Hmmm nice bike

If anything, V's mission pass sound should be the sound that plays when you're busted. It sounds like a jail cell slamming shut at the start.

GTA III's jingle was the best. However, IV and its episodes did it better compared to the other games: when the mission is a depressing, including a bad event for the main character, there's more darkish, tragedic jingle plays (For example, aftermath of "Mr. and Mrs. Bellic"). For TLAD, completing a hot, raged mission results in a more badass, rough, tough jiggle to play ("Action/Reaction"), yet a victorious jingle that goes emotional later plays after a dramatic mission (after "Was it Worth it?", for example). This was cool, fit with the plot of the mission... I think that this should be brought back in next GTA. V's was a joke, like a quick wind blows away and goes...WTF!?

Would've been a lot better if that was used.

Made a video adding mission jingles might make another one with the real jingles to see how that works out
