IMO, CJ doesn't seem to be so old based on how he acts. So I'll say he's somewhere between the ages 19-25, most likely 21 since you can go inside a bar to drink when you go on dates. So yeah. I'll say CJ is 21. Which leads me to the ages of the rest of the cast.

Well, I think we can get a minimum age for CJ.

 

The game is set in 1992, just as CJ returns from Liberty City after living there for five years. So he originally left San Andreas for Liberty City in 1987. Since one has to be at least 18 years old in America to travel and live alone, we can figure out that CJ must have been born as late as 1969, making him at least 23 years old during the events of the game.

 

However, let's assume I'm not realising there's a way to travel and live alone under the age of 18.

 

CJ can purchase alcohol while on dates. I'm going to assume he does so legally. Los Santos is a parody of the real-life Los Angeles. I couldn't find a source that explicitly states the legal drinking age in San Francisco in 1992, so I'm going to assume it's 21, which is the most common legal drinking age in the United States. So, assuming CJ did travel to Liberty City under the age of 18, that means he must be at least 21 years old as of 1992, meaning he was born in 1971 at the very latest.

Here's some but not every character, I know I've missed quite a few of them.

 

CJ: I remember since my first time playing I've always thought of CJ being 25 for some reason, & I think that age does suit him well, so I'll stick with that.

 

Big Smoke: Around 30 to 33

 

Ryder: 21 to 23

 

Sweet: I always thought he was at least 35 or in his late 30s (so quite a bit older than CJ & the others), in part due to his role as leader of the GSF. I imagine it would have took him some years to reach such a position in the gang, and as far as I know, he had been the established leader since at least prior to CJ's 5 year departure.

 

OG Loc: 19 or 20

 

Kendyl: 20 to 23

 

Ceasar: 26-29

 

Denise Robinson: 22

 

Tenpenny: 40

 

Pulaski: In his 30s, perhaps around 34

 

Catalina: 28

 

Claude: I thought he looked extremely young in this game, like around 19, although I think he was likely a bit older than this, as he looked well into his thirties (around 35 in my opinion) in GTA 3, which was set around ten years later.

 

The Truth: In his early to mid sixties, perhaps around 62 or 63

 

Zero: 24 (I know he's confirmed to be 28 but that's what I would've guessed otherwise)

 

Woozie: Early to mid 30s, 33 or 34 perhaps

 

Jizzy B: 28 to 32

 

T-Bone Mendez: Late 30s, around 38

Here is what I'd say:

CJ, 26-27. Based on what we can get from the story, he was already well known as a GSF member, and one of better known members of that gang, when he moved to Liberty. Which is why many of the Ballas and the Families who are just "ordinary" gang members hanging arround the streets, already know him and know his name when he has just freshly returned from LC. And, from the dialogues between CJ, Sweet, Smoke and Ryder, it's clear that CJ was active gang member and was anticipating in gang's activities before he left it all behind and moved to LC. So, I'm assuming that it he would hardly be able to achieve that level of being pretty widely known if he left LS as 18 years old. Seems more realistic that he left at the age of 21 or 22. So he was already banging for several years with GSF, and now he's respected and known member, among his gang and the rival gangs. Hence, logically, after spending 5 years on the East coast, by the time he returns to collect horseshoes under 4 stars, dives for oysters while being shot at, spends hours and hours driving police bike arround chasing Phoenix, Euros and Hotknife, jumps over the river in Bullet, pushes Tampa out of the ocean and through the city for 2 and a half days etc etc etc, he's arround 26-27. So that's the age I'd give him (as a kid I always thought he's 24-25, but this seems more realistic).

Sweet, I'd say a year or two older than CJ, so let's give 28-29 to the older brother.

Kendl, a couple of years younger than them, so 24-25.

Ryder, he's CJ's generation IMO, so 26-27.

Big Smoke is older than them IMO, so I'd say 31-32.

Jeffrey (self called OG Loc), 19-20. Young, stupid(green) and hot headed.

Cesar, pretty similar age to CJ. 25-27

Denise, I'd say 22-23, few years younger than CJ. "I had 3 kids but I gave them away" I consider as just a joke. I don't think she really means it. But in case he does: she's a ho, so that gives you a hint how these kids came to this World. So she just brought them to some institution who'll take care of them.

The other GFs would be all 23-26, apart from Michelle who is 27-28 (I just feel like that, maybe based on her appearance), and Barbara who is like 33-34 (has a marriage and kids behind).

Tenpenny 35-37, Pulaski 33-34. Hernandez 29-30.

Woozie, I'd say arround 30.

Zero, as we know 28.

The Truth, I'd say 40 to 44 (based on his voice and appearance)

Ken Rosenberg.... IDK, 33-35. For some reason harder for me to estimate than the others.

Catalina, I'd say 23. Maybe 24. Max 25. Which fits into 2001 and GTA 3, where she would be in early 30s.

Claude, very similar or same age like her.

T-Bone Mendez is IMO 36-37 to 40.

Mike Toreno, I'd say 38 to 42.

Okay, I'm gonna give these characters a more realistic age range that's more believable.

 

CJ: either 21-24 (He would have been around 18 when he left Liberty City. However, it's not impossible for him to leave as a teenager since it's actually quite common for teens to run away from home. However, realistically, the youngest CJ would have to be to run away from home would be 16 since that's the legal age to drive. So if CJ was around at least 18 when he left to LC, he's be 23-24. If he was a teenager, then 21.)

Sweet: 29-31 (He had to be around his mid 20s when the GSF was founded since he's the leader of the gang.)

Kendl: 20-22 (She doesn't seem much younger than CJ based on the two's interactions. So a good 1-2 years younger makes sense.)

Big Smoke: 30-32 (Based on his quotes towards CJ and being the brains of the group, he's no doubt the oldest of the families, but not too old.)

Ryder: 21-25 (He's around CJ's age since the two are implied to go to school together.)

OG Loc: 18 (Since Sweet and Big Smoke are just encouraging him to go to college, it's obvious OG Loc had just finished high school during these events. So 18 would be the age he'd realistically be at this timeline.)

Cesar: 22-25 (Since he's dating Kendl, so therefore doesn't seem to be that many years apart.)

Tenpenny: 41 (Considering his history with C.R.A.S.H., he would have been in his 20s during the 1970s.)

Pulaski: 39 (Closer to Tenpenny's age.)

The Truth: 60 (There was a cutscene where Truth complained about his new age, and everyone knows that 60 is where old age starts. So Truth is around that age.)

Catalina: 26 (Considering she has three bodies buried by her house, there's no way she'd be in her early 20s during this time. So close to her mid 20s is where she'd realistically be.)

Claude: 20-22 (There are several fans who think Claude was at least 18 or 19, but let's take the time to think about this. Claude had relinquished the deed to the garage at Doherty he used to own in San Fierro, and that garage was pretty run down. So that implies that Claude can't be 18 and has to be in his early 20s at the youngest to own the garage for a few years. So realistically, he'd be at least 20 years old.)

Woozie: 33-35 (He's the leader of the Triads and had to at least have a lot of experience with the gang.  So he's at least in his early-mid 30s. Not too young, but not very old either.)

Dwaine & Jethro: 26 (That's the age they would have to be at the youngest since they were at least in their 20s during the events of GTA Vice City.)

Zero: 28 (Confirmed in one of his missions.)

Toreno: 51 (He'd have to be in his 50s since he works for the government agency.)

Kent Paul & Maccer: 27 (Kent Paul was confirmed to be 21 during the events of GTA Vice City, and Maccer seems to be close to the same age.)

Ken Rosenberg: 40 (He was in his early 30s during the events of GTA Vice City and seems to grow to be a balding middle-aged man by the timeline of this game.)

Madd Dogg: 25-27 (Since he made his breakthrough in music in 1988 and was at least in his early 20s during that year.)
