I think the new Aventador doesn't look half bad, comparing it to the other new supercar production models from other makes. Although I think that the Murcielago is a LOT nicer to look at and much tidier. What's up with the ruler-disigning? Many new cars have this angular look, like if they were some kind of stealth car, and all look "angry".

Btw, I really like the Noble M600, the looks are ok but considering it's made by an small company I would say it looks great, especially in comparison to previous Nobles, also, it seams to be one hell of a car from the performance viewpoint.

That new Lambo is hideous. What's with the beak thing?

How long are they going to continue butchering the original Murcielago and call it a new car? It's getting old, really.

The Ferrari, I really dislike the look of the 458, and subsequently am not a big fan of the front of the FF. It doesn't look very italian. It looks like it's trying really hard to appear angry or fast or angsty. It has some useful cues though, I should whip up good old 3dsmax and work a bit on it.

On the Lambo vs Noble thing, I really fail to see any real resemblance between the two. I mean, the Lambo is a lot more closer to the Murcielago than it could ever be to the Noble.

Pretty disappointed, as usual lately, with how Lamborghini and Ferrari do their stuff.

The new Lambo looks striking, but not pretty.

By the way, you guys heard of the DeTomaso SLC? What a ugly car. I was thinking they were releasing a sports car, instead a big fat-ass 5-series GT-like car.

I kinda like the front end, but since the picture is really dark, I can't really see the rear.

I looked at the picture before i read your post and my first impression was 5 series GT lookalike. Both of them look like sh*t imo.

While I agree that there's potencial (no flames, other grille) it's a pile of sh*t. There's rust wherever you look, and the floor is none-existant.

So even more badass, then? And I like the flames and the grill. Not like a stock Amazon is anything special. The way it looks now gives it a late 40's/early 50's hot rod ford or mercury look.

I just don't want to die without a few scars, I say. It's nothing any more to have a beautiful stock body. You see those cars that are completely stock cherry, right out of a dealer's showroom in 1955, I always think, what a waste.

Too true. I think the car looks pretty awesome.

Well I see that I'm with the minority here. It's just easier for me to appriciate an old car that's stock, even if it's worn, than to appriciate some rusty poorly-built custom.

A mate of mine is thinking of entering in the <3000cc class on the National Saloon Car Championships (he's had his ARDS license for a while, and used to race Formula Ford). I saw them a couple of years ago with him, Group A/N spec 3000cc FWD/RWD designed to be run on a bit of a budget. Then I saw the 2997cc M60B30 N/GT3 spec engine that VAC motorsport make for swaps into the E36 and E46. Up to 600bhp in 5L form, and up to 420bhp in 3 litre.

Take out Volvo engine, throw sbf in, throw on some lake pipes and you have something pretty cool there.

Sorry for being an amateur here, but what's SBF? Small-block Ford?

And those are cool, yes. What I meant is that I feel that a custom should be mint or near mint otherwist I just can't appriciate them.

Gotta love vintage commercials!

This is one of the earliest turbocharged passenger cars available. It had an early Garrett turbo with what I think is the first exhaust wastegate, too. Turbocharged engines before the wastegate had to dimension the turbocharger after top rev performance, which resulted in immense lag.

Water/Meth injection is still a great way of cooling airflow in high-hp applications. If you're doing a ghetto turbo build, it's the cheapest option. Scrapyard parts and a tenner's worth of pressure hoses and you can rig up a decent enough system.

This is one of the earliest turbocharged passenger cars available.

It was the first turbocharged production car if memory serves me. Closely followed by the Corvair Spider.

On the subject of water/meth injection, on another site, I'm watching a guy build a turborcharged, propane-powered 4.7 Jeep straight 6. It's already running nitrous and he plans on running water/meth as well, his theory being that he can spool the turbo up with the nitrous and intercool it with the water/meth if I'm reading it right.

On to others things, um - yeah the turbo - is being assembled next week to my specs. For those that know, or care - I'm going with a Garret T-61 "blowzilla". It is being fitted with a T3 turbine, of the 0.832 A/R variety. At 8lbs boost it will make 425-450 ponies on propane.

This turbo is technically too large for a Jeep stroker engine, and all things being equal would be completely a "top end" turbo. However that characteristic is exactly what I am looking for. I plan to spool the turbo using a nitrous "primer" introduced before the compressor wheel.

What this will do is spool the turbo instantly in any gear/any speed - basically have the full 450HP available on demand. An LS V8 can't make that power at 2000 RPM - but I'll be able to.

The turbo will be set up as a "draw through" setup, where the Propane/air mixture is compressed by the turbo before being introduced into the engine. A water/methanol injection system will provide the intercooling. The Propane will allow me to keep my aggressive timing and my 10:1 compression ratio...it's gonna be deadly.

I've got the itch for a new car... lol.

I've talked to Lurch on FB about mine. For those that forgot or don't know, I've got an 04 Maxima. It appears to have an issue in the front, feels like the right side mainly. While accelerating through first and second gear any bumps make a clunk noise, and if I'm accelerating too hard/push it past 2.5K it pops when shifting. I've read about trans issues with this gen Maximas, needing a valve kit installed which is about ~$2.5k in parts and labor... confused.gif I've got a feeling it's likely that, and possibly something else like bushings, possibly something with the half shaft or a joint.

I'm hoping it can last out until I've got extra cash to get it fixed. Which, won't likely be until next February when I get my yearly bonus. At that point my loan on it will be down to like $7,500 left on it... at which point I'll either fix it, and sell it or apply the money to the loan then sell it for less. I'm thinking the first way would be best, don't you?

After that, I'm getting another car of course. I'll have money for a decent down payment... and I'm sure as sh*t getting a sports car. My insurance rates will be incredibly low as I'll be 25 years old and have had insurance for over a year straight. Living in AZ, I can't see myself with another sedan even as a DD.

After having insurance straight for the past year, mine went up $3.50. Pretty sh*tty. Could have possibly found at about my wreck but I never reported it to them since I was under the carrier's commercial insurance at the time. Still, I guess they could pull up my MVR at any time and check it.

My Cobalt had a hole in its exhaust system. I have put off addressing the issue for a while now but since I am the sole person on the loan now and inspection/emissions are coming up next month, I might as well do something about it. It has the 2.2l ecotec in it so about the only thing it has going for it is that its the biggest ecotec offered.

Anyways, I hacked the f*cker off today in prep for a new muffler. I found that the hole was about the size of a large cherry right before the weld for the muffler.

I feel like such a little ricer. It kinda hurts inside.
