This?

2015-SEAT-Ibiza-Hatchback-Special-EditioI feel its abit... bland for a Ibiza a car IMO stands for fun.

(If someone posts a picture of a Twingo or a Up I will cry)

Looks better than driving in a big plastic lemon.

I don't think yellow instantly makes a car more "fun", that seems more like something the marketing guys would come up with.

"How can we appeal to the young, hip crowd?... Paint it obnoxious yellow!!!"

I feel a more pastel yellow would actually compliment it better if anything.

Personally I hate pastel yellow, it looks like a car that's turned beige in the sun like an old plastic computer case.

It really depends on the shade and the car itself, yellow can go from horrible to sweet very easily.

I'd rather just not see it on 99% of cars, lol.

I like these much better than if they were banana yellow.

Hey folks, first time posting on this thread.

I'm an American and they don't sell Seat here. What is the positioning of Seat in Europe? Is it supposed to be a budget-VW? I don't understand who the brand appeals to and why

I think in this case, wiki can give you a pretty good understanding of what SEAT is all about.

Pretty interesting I think.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SEAT

lol I've done that. But I wanted to hear opinions from real people, not just facts. I'm trying to get the perception of the brand from actual Europeans considering this is a car talk discussion.

Well, from what you asked, you didn't actually seem to be asking for that, but I got ya.

I'll give you that. I definitely could've worded it better.

It's all good homie.

I'm from the U.S. as well, so I'm not too versed on SEAT, although I've oddly enough, seen a Leon Cupra over here (illegally), registered as a Golf.

Nice car for sure.

Oh word, man. And yeah, it seems like it. More style than the Golf I'd say.

They used to be more sport/stylish than VW but cheaper than Audi (and VW for that matter), but not as cheap as Skoda. Then they kind of lost their way forca bit in the mid noughties, now they're back to roughly that old USP.

In very rough terms, the VAG brands' GM equivalents:

Skoda - Chevrolet

Seat - Pontiac

VW - GMC, maybe Buick

Audi - Cadillac

Porsche - Corvette

SEAT is one of those brands to test production changes -before- fitting them into the main VW brand.

The same with Skoda.

Everything else is marketing-bullsh.. directly from VW.

The name VAG is old and does not get used anymore since the cocaine-snorting VW managers bought half Europe's worth of car companies in the end of the 90s.

Them buying Rolls-Royce/Bentley was such a story: Buying a company without knowing another had stakes in it too (BMW).

Monty Python could not have done it better !

It just gives me a smile seeing VW drifting into misery now.

Thanks for the answers guys! I definitely have a better idea of the brand now

I think SEAT is an alright brand/manufacturer, even though pretty much 60% of their lineup is extremely boring and/or not very pretty to look at. I'm looking at you, Ibiza and Toledo! In my opinion, however, the Leon is a nice car all around, particularly in the looks department (my second favourite in the segment), with the Cupra filling the gap for those looking for higher performance.

Basically don't even bother with an Ibiza.

Do consider this is probably a biased opinion, since it's coming from someone who owns a Leon.

I believe the Toledo is a 'Booted' Leon is it not? But, I must say I prefer the older Toledos to the new one.

Old:

Ignore the distasteful alloys

Yeah, same with Multipla for example. We all love the older one

Wow, this opens my eyes a bit more in regards to Skoda and Seat. It all makes sense now :p

Gnocchi Flip Flops

Since Mexico is about 4 hours away, I'm always seeing Mexican plated cars. They range from Seats to super cars. There's this yellow 458 from Mexico that is always at the mall. One time there was a Focus RS, something I know a lot of Americans wish they could have.

GOOD NEWS! *James May voice*

The Focus RS is actually on sale now in the States. Production recently started, but it should be in full swing as 2016 progresses. Ford is charging $35K-low 40s for it, similar to VW's pricing on the Golf R, which is also now available in the American market.

Yeah and I can't wait to see them! The Focus "culture" is pretty big down here. There are STs everywhere.

Indeed!! Where is "down here" for you?

The ST, and now the RS, are the fruits of former CEO Alan Mulally's "One Ford" strategy, which united the brand's various localized product lines into a single, global portfolio. I'm glad enthusiasts can now enjoy these cars regardless of their nationality.

This guy takes classic cars and drives them very fast. It makes it look like all other car reviews are filmed in slow motion.

I have a question: (Not really about cars)

Why do some people prefer manual adjusted suspensions over electrical ones, on motorcycles? Is it just a preference or it has something more technical to it?

Less bits to go wrong, mostly, and it's much cheaper to buy and maintain. Most of the electrically adjustable aftermarket kits are either hideously expensive or cheap Chinese sh*t.

I just realised I know very little about conventional suspension.
