I've been looking at 1Ms lately and I've found 2 for sale here in Taiwan. I checked the prices in the US (as TW prices are pegged to US) and theres a difference of about $15,000 which, to be honest, is not too bad considering If I were to import a 1M myself it would end up costing around the same. The other 1M I found has a whole load of aftermarket parts and the owner wants $115,000 and I'm like you cray nigga. I've attached pics of that one + parts list, let me know what you guys think. I have a viewing of another 1M later this afternoon and the owner wants $75,000 which is reasonable.

That's actually a pretty impressive mod list. I'm not sure what everything is there is but I get the gist of it. Some really pricey, forged wheels, 2 way Ohlins coilovers, Racing Dynamics sways, bigass Brembos, hybrid turbo from RB, Cobb tuning software, etc.

I'd lose the wing, of course. While it's certainly not a $115,000 car in my book, the mod list is quality enough not to detract from the value (aside from maybe the wing). With the suspension under it, I'd think it would be really nice to drive.

My main concern is that if I were to strip it down to return it to factory stock, there isn't a big enough market in Taiwan for me to sell those parts onto. I heard BMW Taiwan only sold something like 20-50 1Ms and no doubt some of those have been totalled already. The 1M I'm looking at later today looks to be fully stock and I think it has less mileage than the one above (12,000km compared to 14,950km).

Why strip it back to stock? It's damn near perfect as-is. Both cars are so low mileage that they're not even broken-in yet. If the stock car is worth $75k, I'd say the other one is probably worth a solid $85k, maybe $90k.

Yeah, I sure wouldn't pay 6 figures for it, but at the same time, you probably couldn't build the same car out of the $75k car for less than that. Custom 2 way ohlins, fancy forged wheels, brembos, big hybrid turbo, etc all adds up. But those mods plus the sways, clutch, bigass FMIC, and the accessport (though I'd probably prefer a JB4 piggyback) are the only things I'd actually really want on the car. A lot of the stuff I can't really tell what it is. I'm guessing all the body add-on's are the Revoszport things.

Previous owner replaced a tonne of stuff with carbon fibre bits.

Do you think I should trade my '06 Bentley Continental Flying Spur for a stock 1M?

I was about to say no, until I realized that Continental value just plummets. There was a GT vert for sale recently in the mid-30's. About a $150k depreciation hit in only 7 years. That's bad. Whereas 1M value is just going to go up. A local 1m with more miles than the one you're looking at was for sale for $60k locally.

MY2012 with only 17,000km on the clock. It was one of the very few sold through BMW Taiwan, most 1Ms you see on the road here were imported.

I've always loved the 1M Coupé, the fact that it is RWD makes it even better.

Thanks! The previous owner installed a GruppeM intake, AC Schnitzer exhaust, and a CF rear diffuser so apart from some ECU and engine work there isn't much more I would need to do to it.

I didn't take any pictures of the interior but I'll be going back after work to finalize the paperwork so I'll take some then.

I could never get tired of that color.. Congrats on the purchase and everything. Could we possibly expect a video of a test run, like you did with your Porsche?

It sucks I bought the car today because tomorrow is Chinese New Years which is like a 10 day holiday. I'm going to see if I can still take it home early by leaving my Bentley as collateral until payment arrives in their account though.

@android: Yes definitely, though the AC Schnitzer exhaust was a bit quieter than I was used to from my 911 so I may look into changing the exhaust system for something a bit louder and unrefined.

@Lurch: what say you about me rowing my own gears now, eh? :pp

Love the 1M. The engine spec on the other one must put it somewhere around 500hp. Presume this one is provably a Stage 2 car, so ~430bhp.

So I managed to get everything done before everyone started their CNY celebrations. I am ushering in the Year of the Goat in my new (to me) BMW 1M!

I didn't wake up this morning expecting to have a 1M that fast but it's all worked out. I am absolutely loving the car!!

75k for a 1M. He must be a part time crackdealer and smoking his own product. I'll give ya 50k and a backrub.

Considering the price for a brand new 1M in Taiwan was $100,000 I'm thinking $75k is quite the bargain.

I know how expensive BMWs can get over here, so, considering brazilian prices, it's quite right. Also, that color looks fantastic. Congrats, Outcast! I'd like to see the interior and, if possible, hear that engine :)

Also, people from Europe (left-hand drive market, please) or the US: how tough is to find a reasonably cheap, tho in reasonably good condition (some stuff to do, but mechanically OK) BMW E30? The only one I found to buy in Brazil had a blown engine, and is now rocking a 4-cilinder VW engine. And that, my friends, is not good. The rest of them 80s BMWs are either in bad, BAD condition or are mostly E34 5-series, but I'd like a 3-series.

I found a 320i E30 Touring, apparently working and with minor bodywork issues, for €4,200.00 near Rotterdam, Holland, which seems fairly reasonable (with the total import costs, it'd be the price of my actual car). I don't have any way to compare the prices, but I think it's a good value. Obviously, this is not a process I'd start in the next few months, but I'm already decided I'll do it, and I'm just seeing how much money I'd have to have to close this deal.

Oh man, those 80s BMWs are like on every street corner around here. Generally speaking, buy from a Southern European country. They will have less rust.

Congratz brother, looks good. Not a fan of the AC exhaust though, but i do love that the calipers are color matched with the car color. Enjoy it!.

Depending on the year you wanted, I would say importing like you said earlier wpuld have been feasible, but convenience factors in. Besides regretting a 75k purchase in long run isn't exactly healthy. Hell, I regret getting a $2 hotdog sometimes when have perfectly good food at home.

If his importing process is anything like the brazilian one, then convenience does, indeed, factor in. The whole process over here takes at least 100 days to be completed.

@Gouveia yeah here in America we really only see flagship models driving around (if that makes any sense) so, 328i, 335i, 535i, etc.

The 1M looks fantastic, I've only ever seen one before and it was in awful condition 😔

Haha, when I was talking about i8 etc. on the previous page I did indeed think M1 not 1M. I remember before posting I actually checked whether Outcast meant M1 or 1M but when I saw the word 'appreciating' I must have gone blind and read M1 assuming Outcast was looking for an investment piece...I couldn't imagine a contemporary factory car appreciating, but the numbers don't lie.

Anyway, I think the 1M looks amazing, especially that rear diffuser. I also prefer the stock wheels to the M52Rs (which imo cheapen the car).
