I got a question regarding the car's operation,in rather low temperatures,does it matter whether I start the car and wait a few secs and go,or start the car and wait about two to three minutes and then go?

There shouldn't be any performance differences, especially if its just a road car. The only difference should be that you'll be warm while driving for those first few minutes.

So it looks like The Geneva Motor Convention is shaping up to be one of the biggest yet in terms of unveilings.

 

Koeniggsegg is unveiling their new "Megacar" the Regera, Aston Martin is unveiling their new car, the Vulcan (believed to be the successor to the Vanquish), McLaren's releasing a new model there too, and not to forget the 2015 Audi R8 and the 2015 Nissan GTR Unveiling as well. That's all I know off the top of my head, so there's bound to be more.

Is Land Rover gonna unveil anything? I don't remember what they did in Detroit, if they did anything at all. Maybe they can do something for that vanishing hood they showed about a year ago in April. I think that's the best new technology, yet.

Only thing LR has in the pipeline that I know of is the Disco Sport, which is replacing the Freelander.

Yeah, I'm glad the one I'm getting in July won't have that weird grille and tacky chrome RAM badge on the back. Not a fan of the chrome strips at the bottom of the doors and tailgate either.

No doubt every JDM kid will be dying to have it, but I really don't see the appeal. The original front end is just right.

I do prefer the more meaner look on the original model.. I'd love to see how people customize these, though.

I was pointed in this direction to talk to you fine folks with an issue I've been having;

 

When I reverse and have the wheel cranked to one of the sides, the whole car kind of shudders and shakes like it's rubbing on something... anyone know what this is? I drive a 2002 Acura MDX.

Didn't a member have a problem similar to this before with his car shaking about 40mph? I think it could be from a loose nut in your wheels but IDK. Let's see what sivis has to say..

Do you guys think the BMW 1M will keep appreciating?

I have no idea how the market for collectible cars values things, but I would have thought the i8 risks cheapening the 1M as it has a similar aesthetic.

1M? Doubt the i8 will have any impact on 1M values, two completely different markets and prices...

I am speculating based on the impression the i8 is a spiritual successor: a large coupe with similar front-end styling, albeit a modern interpretation of it with a drivetrain to match. I just think any car with a modern equivalent looks dated, whereas if a model is completely discontinued it looks timeless.

 

That said, looking at the most dramatically appreciated classics in the past 5 years, I can't seem to spot a common trend between them.

lol @ i8 to 1M comparison. I don't think there intended market is anywhere near the same. Nor do I think they're anywhere similar to drive at all. Literally the only thing linking the two is the badge and the fact that they have 2 doors.

 

 

If you instead meant the M1, then the comparison is equally dumb. Anyone that's going to buy a $250k+ classic sports car is going to buy just that and not some modern electric thing that looks vaguely similar.. The modern Ford GT definitely didn't keep classic GT's from hitting the $10 mil mark.

I'm hoping I get to fix my old Civic. My insurance company told me that they might take the car and give me a check for a few hundred dollars. Honestly, I feel like they can keep their petty money. I don't want it. A few hundred dollars? For my old car? No. I want to keep it and fix it. Any opinions? Thoughts?
