Yeah, a lot of Americans like their large cars and trucks. I can't tell you how many times I see moms with 1 or 2 kids driving around in a Suburban. Hell, even I want a full-size pickup truck. It seems that a lot of European roads are so tight that driving a Camry could be difficult, but we don't really have that problem in the United States.

Yeah, North America in general was designed for the car, while Europe on the other hand wasn't.

Yep America was built around the car and built for it. So driving a massive boat isn't difficult. My dad commutes to work in a fat ass Toyota Sequoia everyday.

I don't know about you guys but I think it looks great, I was getting tired of the old MX-5 (don't bash, i grew up with a first gen). I like the new angles and aggressive face.

Have you even driven one, pleb?

 

Looks great, it's light, powerful enough, and has a host of features that specifically cater to the track/autoX crowd. In the next few years when the aftermarket is there, this will be the car to have. Look how fast the NC's were by about 09 when the big name suspension companies really started bringing out all the good parts for them.

I don't understand what's wrong with it. Sure they have taken a lot of styling cues from British sports cars...but isn't that kind of the point of the MX-5?

The new MX-5 looks like a miniature Jaguar F-Type. Plus I'm sure someone will do a fixed hard-top for it.

I agree, it does look like a miniature F-Type and a California T. That's probably why I like the design so much.

I know I've mentioned it before but I'm getting really tempted to chop the Leon in for a GT86. A lot of money at a time when I'm saving for the deposit on a larger house, but there's one for sale (thankfully in Scotland) for £19k which looks basically perfect:







Seriously perfect DD material, although it could probably do with either a Litchfield supercharger or an LSx conversion

Amazing what a nice set of wheels, a subtle drop and getting rid of that f*cking idiotic OEM spoiler will do.

If you have money for it, do it. It looks way better than a Leon but thats my personal opinion. It defo needs a drop. For wheels i would check out some OZ ultraleggera's (black or grey). OEM spoiler looks great imo. I would debagde the rear though (expect for the Toyota logo).
