jesus.

the new Mustang is ugly as f*ck.

new Challenger still looks bad ass.

The new Mustang is pornographic.

I have a 2011 Super Snake, so I don't need it either way.

Also, does anyone know somebody/a company selling a Ford GT? I really want one and I can't find any for sale, because I believe Ford stopped production years ago.

You sound dumb as hell, son. :facedesk:

Hey money doesn't buy brains. I too figured that if you can afford a GT500 and the upgrade to a SS, that you'd have connections and know how to shop for a specialty vehicle.

Are we now making the assumption that this guy actually has an SS and has the means to purchase a Ford GT?

Haha not by any means. I just brushed it off. Posing is so 2005. Speaking of car purchases...

I got my promotion to Head lifeguard at my 2nd lifeguarding job, so i can afford to go nuts on my e46 M3 when i pick it up early next month. However, i'm now in the price range to afford maintenance of a v12. Going to head back out this week to test it and find out if my down payment can be transferred over.

Is it so hard to ask a question without getting called a bullsh*tter?

I was only asking to see if anyone knew because I don't really know anyone who has one brand new.

I'm regretting asking now.

If that question contains a likely bullsh*t claim and is absurd, yes.

Custard proof or go away.

You know, now that I've seen that Escalade from yesterday, I wouldn't mind owning a Cadillac when I'm old enough. The upcoming ATS coupe looks like it's gonna be really nice.

Man, aha, I remember the XLR. It was a cool little car. It still meets up with the standards of today in design, imo.

For those that don't know what I'm talking about:

XLR's are cool, but it's a C6 Corvette (literally the same chassis) with a heavier steel body, no option for a real transmission, and a less powerful, heavier, more complicated engine (Northstar vs LSx).

Its sibling car is what makes it not as good. It probably has more cool factor than a Vette though. And you can probably get an XLR-V that was 100 grand new a good bit cheaper than you can get a C6 Z06 that was 70 grand new ffrom the same year. Depreciation hits those types of cars pretty bad (think Merc SL).

Evidently, someone to whom comedy is foreign...

Anyway my beloved piece of sh*t Saab has to be taken on a trailer for a new oil pump, could take a week or so. Thank god I had d*ck surgery, so I could barely drive it anyway this week...

It wasn't based on the C6, it was based on the older C5.

And yeah, I did like the XLR, but it was pretty much an outdated heavier 'Vette at the time. Too bad they killed it off, instead of making a second gen.

Anybody else see that new Volvo XC90? f*cking gorgeous car. Bowers & Wilkins Audio (1400 watts and 19 speakers in total), full leather interior, bare veneer. Super sexy. I never went crazy over a Volvo before.

That new Volvo is certainly an attractive car, but a big dissapointment, design-wise. It lacks that Volvo charm, it now looks like a Merc/american mixbreed :(

that is a great looking car. It has the unique Cadillac look. They should bring this back instead of making more re-bodied Chevys

This and that a vast majority of BMW drivers are ass hats and drive like crap.

I was walking to the parking lot from work. Diagonal as f*ck SUV parked next to me. BMW.

I was kind of getting tired of the old Volvo charm to be honest.

Really nice design, I love the rear end. They have done a good job of re-envisioning the aesthetic of the '80s Lagonda (without making it so ugly this time!).

I have recently moved within walking distance of my work, so I only drive my car on weekends. I drive it at least once a week for a 10+10 mile trip which takes around 20~25 mins each way (most of the distance is covered at 60mph).

I need the car to stay in good condition as I use it for long motorway trips once a month or so. Is driving the car once a week like this sufficient to keep it healthy?

I would drive it during the week, but I always feel really lazy after work.

Usually driving your car once a week for a say weekend drive is fine, but it also depends what car, my grandmothers does not need driving much since it is a 4 cylinder and quite new compared to mine which needs more than once a week to open up all the 8 cylinders, it also depends how often you have driven your car recently, the health of the car, how old the car is and how many cylinders. 4 Cylinders doesn't really matter, 6 Cylinder once a week at least, 8 Cylinders 2- 3 times a week and a good drive and 12 Cylinders a good full days worth of driving. I know my car has had impact from the previous owners not driving it for the past year. Especially the big engined cars when they don't get driven, things will just clog up leading to engine failures, valves, tappets, cylinders, sensors for engine, fuel lines and exhaust, may seem absurd but this happens.

Think of your car as a human being, would you like to stand in a room for a whole year doing nothing at all??

Yeah, the above is utter rubbish I'm afraid. There's no tangible reason, all else being equal, that an engine with more cylinders would need to be run more frequently than an engine with less in order to keep it in full working order. I was going to say that you could possibly argue that engines in a higher state of tune should be exercised through their full rev range regularly, but even that isn't necessarily true as otherwise the arse would fall out of the entire weekend car market.

You should be fine running a car once or twice a week as long as it isn't stop-start journeys. Presumably you'll be using it for, say, going to the supermarket and running errands too?

That weekly drive is me running my errands. There are shops nearby so even if I need something I don't tend to need to drive, I only use the car to go to do a proper shop-up once a week.

No kidding, i did read the cylinder post and did kinda think wtf.

However, yes once a week is not a bad thing. I only did 3k on my CLK last year but i do leave it in airports and whatnot quite often for a week or more. When i do i like to give it a run to get a charge through the electrical system. I am conscious of long stays without drives in it and I don't live to leave either of the cars for longer than 10 days without some kind of action. My bike i suppose is a bit of an exception, if i don't ride it for any period of time i will semi-store it. Disconnect the battery, raise it so i can rotate the tyres, full tank, ect.

A good 60 mph run will keep the battery charged and run all fluids warmed and properly circulated. Its more than enough.
