Thanks for the input guys. I was already leaning heavily toward the FR-S but I just wanted to hear your input first because I know you guys know a thing or two about cars. The only thing that sucks is I'm going to have to wait until I have a parking situation figured out at my apartment or I relocate to a house with a driveway/garage so I would actually have somewhere to park it. Because with my new job I'm going to be driving a company vehicle around town that I have to park at home every night. And finding parking with just one vehicle can be a challenge sometimes because some idiots keep taking our reserved spot. I couldn't imagine having to juggle parking for 3 vehicles.

What exactly are the differences between the FR-S and the GT86? Are they mostly cosmetic or do the GT86 pack a little more punch?

I don't want to have my stupid f*cking Saab 900 anymore. I love it dearly but it's been nothing but constant trouble and I've spent 80% of the money I've ever made on it. The oil lamp is flashing. It's running awfully. I don't want it any more.

That's a shame, it's probably best to cut your losses. Have you thought about what your replacement options are?

Haven't gotten that far; my folks keep urging me not to be rash. To be honest I'd like yet another 900.

I reluctantly give up on trying to find a 350z.....

My mom keeps shooting down the ones I pull up that cost more than $5,000 that have 100k+ mileage, and plus I just I just really need a car before so I can stop depending on other people to get me where I need to go.

I guess I could use the extra money I save from insurance on something else.

But anyways.

Which car should I get?

1988 ford mustang | $4,000| 60,000 miles

Or

2006-2009 Volkswagen GTI | around $7,000| Around 120,000 miles.

Volkswagen unless that mustang is a gt. If it is, then i would double check for dismembered body parts in the seats and traces of coke.

It is a GT. .... But now I'm concerned what may be wrong with it.

It would still be cheaper than trying to fix the VW if something goes wrong.

For a GT that old, that many miles and price is alarming to me. Then again, pictures would do justice. I still think the volks would be better. Harded to get in trouble, better gas mileage, newer car altogether.

You'll have a better chance of keeping your wallet in your when shopping for replacements as well if anything goes horribly wrong. For the Mustang, a new catalyct converter will easily turn into a complete exhaust system overhaul just because it's dirt cheap.

The reliability of the GTI may be questionable. One group says it's sh*t, while the other says it's amazinh compared to previous generations.

I still think Miata is the answer though as you can find one in that price range that's been owned by someone in a mid-life crisis in the mid 90's, but couldn't afford a corvette.

It would still be cheaper than trying to fix the VW if something goes wrong. As long as it's been run on decent fully synth, ideally an ester oil, and had the cambelt done an time there's very little to go wrong on Mk5 GTIs. All the common issues- PCV, diverter valve, intake manifold runners, HPFP cam and follower- are fairly cheap fixes and only the latter has any chance of causing permanent harm.

Budget for a walnut grit blasting or terraclean with the DI tools (to get all the carbon from oil residue off the head and intake valves), run it on super and you should have no problems.

Turns out my dad put the wrong kind of oil into my car, and that may be what's wrong with it. I don't blame him though, he was only trying to help me out.

Wtf are you for reals? That looks f*cking wrong for a Silverado. Some knock-off Korean or Chinese pickup, sure. Silverado, no.

yes. 100% for reals. It looks awful, but at least it's not a box on wheels like the current gen Boxerado.

More new cars. I got a look at the next gen fusion. The back is distinctly different than the current gen, but I have no clue on the front (it's covered to hell in coverings and spy paint)

Also here's the new 2015 mustang if anyone hasent gotten the memo yet.

2015-mustang1.jpg

First mustang (in over 50 years) to not have a straight axle rear suspension (thank god)

And supposedly the first mustang that will be sold in Europe as well as NA.

I think the 'styling' indentation across the doors kills the Silverado, it's like something you'd find on a 2004 economy car.

You don't need that stuff on a pickup truck, it's supposed to look utilitarian.

The roof-line on that Mustang looks like an Aston Martin's (not that I'm surprised).

I wonder if Ford (or the other big two) will try an original muscle car design again. I really liked the 3rd gen Camaro, and the fox body Mustang was interesting (albeit a bit of an acquired '90s taste). The Challenger is the best looking of the muscle cars at the moment, but it's really boring now.

oh also the challenger is getting a restyled grille, headlights, and tail lights. I've seen multiple challengers with and without the covers and spy paint.

The new Mustang is pornographic.

I have a 2011 Super Snake, so I don't need it either way.

Also, does anyone know somebody/a company selling a Ford GT? I really want one and I can't find any for sale, because I believe Ford stopped production years ago.

Agreed. They really failed with the new Mustang. Looks too much like a Fusion Coupe.

I like the Fusion, but the mashup between it and more classic Mustang lines don't really work imo.

And I really do want a Hellcat. Though I would rather have the Charger, cause it's a f*cking 4door with 707hp.

There probably hasn't been an issue of DuPont Registry that hasn't had a Ford GT for sale since they started production honestly. It was one of those cars that skyrocketed in value really fast too.

Gnocchi Flip Flops

I always felt Ferrari finally did something right with the F12berlinetta. And for the longest time none of them caught fire. Not even from crashing. Well finally... it happened:

900_o16412.jpg

Brand new too, no crash. Just the typical Ferrari fire case, it randomly burst into flames. :dozing:
