Yeah, whose are the arches I'm talking about.

OEM front bumper, single exit exhaust, a rear diffuser, a GT style wing and those arches thanks. I'd be happy with the 280 kit but the 330 plus water meth would be even better.

In black thanks.

Does anyone else think the 350z looks wayyy better than the 370z?

And is kinda pissed the 370z is technologically superior car....

And is the z series done for? I heard they were stopping production for the 2014 370z roadster..

Naa, the 350 is damn ugly.

I like the 350z. Even thought its a completely different car from the 370, it doesnt really look much different.....So I cant say it really looks wayyy better.

I think the 350z looks better, but not by much. Headlights and tails looks strange to me.

I loved the 350Z when it came out. Perfect performance/price point. Sadly the 370Z added a bunch of curb weight and upped the base MSRP by $10,000. The 370Z has a lot of optional features that are standard on other cars in its class at a lower price (BRZ limited, V6 Genesis coupe, etc) and isn't worth the price IMO.

I've been pondering this for a few weeks and i'm iffy on the subject because of morals.

A friend of mine is looking to nab a sc roller from my city and i've followed always loved the e30 drift vert from chicago. At first i wanted to nab this black e46 m3, but the price sketched me over time and salesman was jittery during my overview of the car.

Eventually i found another that fit more close to my goal i made 5 years ago, but i got the idea to just get the high high hiiigh mileage m3 and $2.5k sc300, take the motor and swap it from the sc to the m3 and sell my friend the roller sc and inline 6 from the m3.

I think it would be a amazing project, but at the same time, may stir up a hornet's nets of hate considering it's a M series car. Opinions?

Actually lighter than the HR 350Z's. Or really any, but the early base models.

either way it's beside the point.

Meh. There are loads of 2JZ powered E46 out there and I've never understood why people perform the swap. The S54 is good for 1500bhp, $10k will get you a reliable 800bhp and a 2J putting out that kind of power won't be any cheaper once you've got it in there.

I vaguely get the appeal for non-Ms and ghetto drift cars but that's it really. Much better off keeping the S54 or dropping in a charged LS motor.

The wheels on the Rolls coupe look really tacky. Silver accents on a dark rim will never work, especially when there isn't a 'lip.'

Hmph didn't know that about the engine. Gives me more research to do from now and late next month.

1JZ/2JZ's are great replacements for M50/M52/M54's, etc, but not S54's. S54's are nothing short of amazing. My friend works at a local BMW race shop and they have 2 badass S54 E30 race cars.

Red one is destroked to 3.0 and the black one I think is stroked to 3.4 (Might just be a 3.2. Different classes with odd displacement rules).

They make great power and rev to the sky (the destroked one is probably capable of 10,000 rpm's if you really wanted to push it that far). They are having trouble keeping them together though. They're 13:1 compression I think with some fancy pistons, rods, cams, and headwork. When they're having trouble keeping them together at less than 400whp, I wonder how hard it is to make them live reliably at the four figure mark.

At FD, Michael Essa's Turbo S54 M3 seem to hold together good at 750 whp.
10257160_10152451510434083_3576820745453

The 2J guys were all running 800+ though.

10273395_10152451404524083_1826582889666

Daigo Saito was making somewhere in the realm of 1200-1300 with his. That motor has an insane amount of money dumped into it though.

10355697_10152451465214083_8445026405548

I've seen 2J's making over 1800. Just incredible power potential. The aftermarket for them is probably a bit larger and cheaper too. Still probably wouldn't swap an S54 for one since the S54 is just so good right out of the box.

Also, if you're starting with a 2J-GE, there's really no point. The GTE has the oil squirters and the stronger bottom end. A GE is said to only be good til around 600 whp or so, and it can be expensive getting there. Whereas I know several people with 1000+ whp GTE's on stock bottom ends.

I don't really plan to go big on HP and just wanted a cheaper alternative to the high mileage m3 and make a project out of it, but as of right now the 60k 2005 M3 sounds alot more feasible and rewarding. That and it's the exact paint and interior choice i always wanted.

Once i start classes in the fall and if i have any left over money to throw around, then ill try to find maybe a e30 or e36 to go all out on.

I want to say that Intimidator E30 looks familiar. Does it participate in SCCA sanctioned events?

How readily available is the 2JZ-GTE versus the 2JZ-GE considering it was only used on special models of the GS and Supra?

Also what makes I6 engines so popular to work on? Is it the spare room you get in the engine bay or is it less mechanically complicated or something?

Any US GTE was only on TT Supras. We didn't get the good SC300's/Soarers or Aristos. Still more readily available than an RB26 or something. And I don't think straight 6's are areally much easier to work on. Sure there's more room on the sides for changing spark plugs and such but engine to to fan to rad clearance is usually really tight. I just think there's a lot of really good engines with huge performance potential that can take unholy amounts of punishment that have happened to be of that configurations. All the various BMW engines, Toyotas JZ, Nissans RB and even the old L28 can all make some serious power.

@hvcciookay - I think it mainly runs NASA events but maybe the occasional SCCA one as well.

Are Supras rare in the US too? Here there are literally more than twice as many Bentley Continental GTs on the road than Supras, never mind the twin turbo variant.

I have a sealed plastic container of petrol I have kept for emergencies but I forgot to use it (I didn't put any additive in).

It's a 5 litre can and it's 10 months old now. Can I put it in my car or should I just throw it away?

Also, if I should throw it away...where and how exactly do I dispose of it properly?

My dad and i used to use it to clean various parts and junk around the garage and to kill invasive plants around the yard. Looking back at it, it was stupid because eventually parts of the backyard grew brown or not at all. It works as good a good fire catalyst for sure though haha.

It should be fine. Throw a bit of RedX in it just to make sure but if it's properly sealed there shouldn't be any moisture ingress.

Maybe, it's that I live in a town with a shop that specializes in them, but I see them fairly often (though I'm fairly active in the local car scene). I would guess I know a dozen or so people with mk 4 Supras. 3 of them at over 1000 whp. A few more with 700+ hp, a few with 500+. Others that are basically stock.

I think they're more common that what I drive.

having seen a pretty good percentage of the US, I can safely assure you that the Toyota Supra is rare.

like you said, you live nearby this place which is apparently notorious for the car scene.

you also seem pretty heavily involved in it personally.

your perspective is skewed. the car is rare on most roads.

which is good too. the reason I hate the Mustang is because everyone and their mom has it.

Speaking of being heavily involved in the local car scene, I went down to Atlanta with a few friends the other day to Z1 Motorsports to help my friend drag his 240SX drift car down there.

Some of you that I'm friends with on facebook have already seen it, but for those that aren't, here's some pics. sh*tty potato cell phone pics, but pics nonetheless. Some spec 350's and 370's, lots of TT Z32's (one of which is 1000+ hp), some badass track cars, the GT Academy car from Gran Turismo, and an S13 with a VQ35DE and a Stillen supercharger making 306 whp.

So the car made 447 whp and 401 lb-ft at 10.5 psi on a Dynojet. Motor is a stock bottom end VQ35DE from an 03 350Z, Vortech V3 superhcarger with a 12 psi pulley, 2013 R35 injectors, custom intake, custom stainless custom headers and 3" straight pipe (flows incredible and is loud as f*ck). Also has Uprev Osirus tuning software with Z1's MAF calibrated specifically for forced induction engines. Runs an 05 350Z 6 speed with the stock 4.10 S14 diff. The two 445+ pulls were in 5th gear. The others were in 4th. Ended up retarding the timing 1.5 degrees to be a little on the safe side which should mean around 430 whp.

Not sure who makes the kit, think it might be in house though as it's the same as that run on the GT4 cars I think.
