The Nissan GTR is the new Skyline, only the Skyline name was dropped and is now solely used on the Nissan "Infiniti G" model equivalents. The old Skyline and Supra used to be rivals, and since only the "Skyline" (GTR) remains, there isn't really a rivalry anymore. If the Supra returned, so would that rivalry.

oh I see what you mean.

I just don't miss those days.

it would be like saying "I miss the old days of Mustang vs Camaro" :sui:

I don't see it in the range of the LFA. That was more like "We can engineer more than a armada of FWD Midsize luxury sedans"

If anything i see it going toe to toe with the updated GTR, Z07, Viper, and maybe the Carrera 4s.

2006 Mercedes Benz SLK 200 - what is its pros and cons?

I think it'll be my next car, as I'm in love with hard top convertibles. And it's not very expensive here in BR.

The main con of the 200 is that it's properly slow.

We don't have many roads here that we can go +180km/h, so I don't think it'll be a problem.. It would be used in the city, most of the time.

I heard that some of them got problems with the hardtop electronics or something, that's what I'm getting worried about tbh

Just about universal with any German car NOT in Germany. Prepare to hand over your bank account information and any money stuffed under your pillow when stuff breaks. Is it the NA model?

Anyone have any experiences with the B5 VW Passat? Looking at selling the Punto and getting the 1.9 TDI, 130 brake model. MPG is the same if not better than the 1.2 Punto from the look of things. Lots of them becoming cheap now, including ones with a good service history, I've just never had the chance to drive one.

I know that feel. I spent some cash with my BMW already.. the car was not too much expensive, but when it comes to repairs....

I wish Mustangs were cheaper here :(

German cars are manageable if you don't mind buying 3rd party parts and getting familiar with your local junk yards. If you want everything brand new & OEM, then you start having problems. My E23 is almost 30 years old, though; the newer stuff won't be as prevalent in junk yards and there probably won't be as many off-brand parts available.

It's funny you should say that, because in the UK it tends to be newer cars which have more stock in the junk yards (i.e. 5-10 year old cars). When you look at sites like http://www.howmanyleft.co.uk/ you realise older cars tend to just vanish off the face of the country (I assume most get crushed or exported to Africa), and with the limited market for spares junk yards don't bother stocking the parts any more. I can't even remember the last time I saw a 30 year old car (with the exception of classic cars).

The newest cars I really see in the junkyard are 2005, and that's usually pretty rare. I used to see a lot of E23's and E28's but I really never see any of those these days. 89-02 are where most of the cars I see in the junkyards seem to fall.

Finally back from my vacation and road trips. I was pleased to find out the rental company had checked almost every option when they ordered the truck. About the only things it didn't have was 4wd or 6.2L V8 (it had the 5.3L V8). Built-in navigation was a very nice bonus I wasn't expecting.

2014 Chevy Silverado LTZ 1500:

It had just under 2,000 miles when I picked it up, and turned it in with over 5,400 miles. Not the prettiest truck, but it made for a very comfy road trip.

The front has a great presence, but when you look at the side it's kinda like the Silverado skipped leg day.

I'm going to say that these new GM trucks have been hit by the ugly stick. Only good looking one is the new Escalade, which is a massive step up from the last gen imo. The last gen Sierra and Suburban were pretty great imo.

Im interested in how this develops now. A local auto shop has a SLK 55 AMG parked out front and the prices are really reasonable (The M3 im going for is 23k vs a SLK 55 AMG @ 28k). I still have about a month and half before i make my decison on my Birthday.

The new Escalade-Yukon-Tahoe is pretty attractive I must say. They've been all over the place recently, but I wouldn't get one, aren't most of them +$60K?

This is actually the first generation of Escalade I don't like, the front is waaaay too big. It looks like those half-finished cars with a huge body kit but no side-skirts.

Maybe it'll grow on me...

Give it time, it might grow on you. When I first saw one I thought it looked atrocious.

I just bought a 1996 Dodge Conversion van. I think it's a PrimeTime. Never realised how awesome it is driving a van. Going to love commuting with this thing. Has a 35 gallon tank (132 liters) so I'll be gassing it up like every two weeks lol. Now summer can really begin! :D

Anyone ever piss around in an 86/BRZ? (Hell, is there even a difference between the two performance-wise aside from the badge?)

Went for a bit of a hoon in my friend's 86 last night. Let's just say that going back to the Peugeot and driving home was a completely juxtaposed emotion. Cornered really great (as great as one's car can corner around empty suburban streets) and handled really well; it feels like a type of car that would be easy to keep control of regardless of anything you do behind the wheel. It just felt really small, nimble and fun, and felt ten times better than the only other JDM I've ever touched (which was my friend's RX-8).

Haha that looks awesome. I used to live in Denia near where they got the ferry from. I used to belt up and down that highway quite a lot and i know the area well. I have been stopped a few times at that toll both myself. The cops sit around those toll stations all the time and often in the service areas too especially at night. The Guardia Civil quite often take your ticket and look at the time and compare it to distance to see if you were "going rapido".

I enjoyed watching that video, i remember watching a few of the previous years. Need to see the rest of 2014 now...

They're great cars. Though for the price of what you can get a used one for, you can get a really nicely prepped Miata or S2k that's faster and have quite a bit of money left over. The 86/FRS/BRZ is new enough that it would still have a bit of a warranty left on it though.

They'll be the thing to have in 10 years when they're cheap. The new S-chassis. Though certainly a better all-around car than an S-chassis. They seem to be the go-to STX car for SOLO around here.

I've been passenger seat in a Litchfield supercharged one on Pilot Cups. It was M3-worryingly fast. Two or three years and they're going to make amazing project cars.

F*cking hate the rear spoiler though. Love the Rocket Bunny kits, which is rare as I usually hate stuff like that. I'd love to run a Litchfield charged 86 with rivet-on wide arches and wide-as-hell CCWs or Images.

Close to 1000 whp or so.

Seriously has to to be one of the most well-rounded chassis ever made with unlimited potential for nearly any kind of racing/hard-driving.
