Up the road from me is a car I'd be interested in buying. For a 20 year old Fiesta it looks clean on the outside and has all the original trim. I don't know who owns it but I'm thinking a note would be the best idea. What should I write on the note?

Just say that you would like to know if the owner is interested in selling for the right price. And then leave your number and ask for him to call you if he is interested in hearing your offer.

A note or ask around as nicely as you can about who owns and where you can find the owner. Ran into the same problems when buying my old datsun. Is it parked in a store lot or something? Could be abandoned as well.

Yeah, but then he mine as well go with an A6 equipped with everything except for Bang & Olufsen. He's also considering a loaded Q50 S.

Well, they're halting Evo X production and no sign of whether they're doing to produce an XI when the new Lancer comes out.

 

To be honest Mitsubishi always had problems monetising the Evo. It never sold well and I think several generations were effectively loss-leaders with the company losing money on every car. They've simply not been able to compete with Subaru in the barmy-turbocharged-AWD-saloon stakes. Which has always surprised me given that the X was supposed to be vastly superior to the contemporary Impreza hatch. I still prefer the Impreza though. That's an itch I have yet to scratch.

 

All that said I can scarcely vocalise quite how much I want an Evo IX FQ360 wagon. In black, with the manual box, thanks. Only two or three in the UK and they go for very strong money.

That and Mitsubishi doesn't fair well in any other market except mid-size sedan, albeit barely. You could easily go out on a walk and see more base model impreza's than Lancer's. I think the sudden restyling came on entirely too strong for most consumers in the market for the cars.

The many legions of fanboys cheaply modifying their 4g powered Eclipses/Talons and such and seeing them break are probably one reason for that. Though I've never seen one Evo that was more trouble-free than its equivalent STI.

Mitsubishi as a whole seems to be struggling. We bought a honda about 3 years ago, next door was a mitsu. dealer. They still have the same eclipse and two galants sitting out front that we saw on that day and they're selling them for around the same price too. I hope they are able to rebound but putting out cars like the Mirage (which is just a slightly updated Colt) isn't going to help them much. I like the Outlander Sport but the crossover SUV market is so saturated, it's hard to compete against the big boys.

Not to mention the 4G eclipse is considered to be an utter POS by the 2G and 3G Eclipse fanbase. At least from what I have seen from my friends who own Eclipses.

I'd go as far as saying that the new Mitsubishis are in general bad cars. We sell them new where I work and the even the sales guys say they're no good. New Outlanders with the 4wd system acting up, the L200 pickup being generally junk with lots of different faults and the Lancer with its check engine light coming on for various reasons.

On the Mitsubishi topic, all the owners of L200s I have met swear by them, one L200 I know has had a very hard decade on the farm (and short road trips) and is never washed, but there isn't a spot of rust on the thing nor am I aware of any mechanical faults.

 

Despite being crashed twice the Mitsubishi Carisma our family had never had a single fault apart from the central locking died a couple months before it was scrapped (scrappage scheme, the car was healthy). Having known the car I reckon it'd still be on the road today.

That's with Hastings Direct. 28, 11 years driving experience, 5 years NCB and IAM. Fully comp with £100 voluntary excess, business plus social and commuting use, 18k a year plus 90 days foreign cover and legal cover. No declared mods as the only changes I've made are OEM so far apart from PCV and they advised me that counts as a like-for-like OEM replacement as it has no impact on performance.

 

Then minus another £25 for Quidco cashback.

I just failed my driving test solely for driving too slow. There's like a 2-3 month wait before I am allowed to take it again. My SAAB just back from body shop - carburetor f*cked up, and the car:

*wont start

*if somehow started, the engine will not go below 5k RPM

Just read in a Spanish forum this guys customized a Seat Marbella (Picture below) and he added a 1.8 20VT 180hp VW engine to it.

I mean that car is extremely light (700kgs) now add a 180hp enginge to it + the propper extras like; Suspension, brakes, clutch, gear box... and you have a nice fast vehicle that feels like a Go Kart.

Has anyone seen the supposed 2015 Toyota Supra?

Pretty sure this has evolved from the FT-1 concept, but don't quote me on that. Hopefully it does better than the LFA and is competitive with the GTR. I miss the old days of "Supra vs. Skyline."

 

Also, what are some of your favourite forgotten cars? I've got 3 of mine right here.
