I agree. I once visited london 2 years ago. The traffic is busy, Cyclists get in the way and Arabs coming to London to show off their Supercars. So annoying.

That, and just how everyone is so disrespectful and aggravated all the time. I mean sure everyone has bad days, but to a Londoner that's every day.

That cyclist is a douchebag.

Probably a hater of Supercars driven by Arabs.

I was doing a mapquest for an upcoming trip. I wanted to see how many miles it was going to be, here's what popped up:

LOL @ time in current traffic conditions.

Just took my Dad's friends new A45 AMG out for a spin. For such a small car it's pretty brutal. I'm still not a big fan of AMGs though, just something about MB doesn't really do it for me.

EDIT: Also just saw the lambo/cyclist video in London and the cyclist is a proper dick. I drive in London and I loathe cyclists and other drivers alike. Truly cockroaches scurrying amongst rats.

It's interesting how when he opens the doors it's almost like an open-wheeled car with the way the chassis tapers (though makes sense with the F1 heritage :p).

I am surprised the windows have to retract to open the doors, all the frame-less doors I've seen just have soft foam padding to catch and seal the window when the door is closed.

Do all wealthy people have purses? Is that actually a thing?

I would imagine that this depends on the angle at which the door moves as it shuts. On standard door or scissors that have a bit more outward swing, you can probably get away with frameless that does not retract. But this door starts moving almost directly up as it's being opened. There is no way of getting it past the seal without retracting the glass a bit.

Does feel like retracts have way too much lag when opening the door, though. From engineering standpoint, it wouldn't be hard to make lever a bit more sensitive, and have glass finished retracting by the time you finished moving the lever. Then there would be no lag between pulling the lever and the door opening. It's a minor annoyance, of course, but I've always thought of luxury/supercars as the car designed not to have little annoyances.

Prior to filing a bug against any of my code, please consider this response to common concerns.

Epoxi- are you sure about that? The overwhelming majority of frameless doors I know of retract very slightly on opening the doors to avoid catching them on the outer door seal. Off hand, I know for a fact it happens on E36 and E46 coupés, Mercedes CL, CLK and SLK and Audi A5s. I think it's fairly common amongst all frameless windows on cars.

I haven't had much experience with luxury cars, but the Chrysler Neon, old Impreza and my Celica both just shut normally against a rubberised foam cushion. The rubber above the window has a very slight overhang of course to stop water constantly pouring onto the foam-glass interface from above and perishing it.

I sense that the glass retraction is more of a gimmick to make people feel it's a classy car, and intuitively I prefer the low-tech solution as nobody likes dealing with car electrics (plus imagine the inconvenience if your car battery died). Although, K^2's explanation of it being more appropriate for gull-wing doors makes sense.

Edit: Automatic protraction of the glass into a seal above may reduce wind noise too, though I haven't noticed any excessive noise in the Celica to begin with.

Bugatti Veyron just joined the police car fleet in Dubai!

Wow, that looks pretty cool - Speeders won't be getting away without charges from now on

I thought it was all fake when Dubai talked about launching a supercar fleet about a year ago. They have got the money though.

In order: CLA, E-Class, S-Class Coupe.

Seems like Mercedes is the last in the trio to make all their cars look exactly the same.

That S-class coupé is absolutely ghastly. Rear end is a cross between a Passat CC and a Peugeot 407.

The CLA just looks odd from the side. Doesn't have the usual Mercedes proportions. Normal people will think they look identical to other Mercs but anyone used to RWD proportions will think something is very off with its hoodline. FWD FTL. :v:

Don't know if I should post this here, but Ferrari has unveiled their California T with a decent refresh. I like it. I'd love to see it in Azzuro Blue with a full Cuoio, diamond stitched leather interior.

I always thought the California was butt-ugly next to it's siblings. This new one doesn't really excite me either. On the other hand the things McLaren are doing excite me very much. First they gave us the 12C, then the majestic P1, and now we're hearing reports of a P13 and P15. I can't f*cking wait to see their 911 killer.

And a little bit of this roof-line wise.

The rear of the s-class coupe looks almost American with the chrome strip going across the tail lights. Not exactly a big fan of the overall look.

can't we all just agree that Mercedes is a shadow of its former self?

lost in a sea of vaguely upper-middle class grocery getters and sport car mediocrity attempting to rest on its laurels, the best days of the Benz are behind it.

add Jaguar to that mix while we're at it.

I swear to the flying spaghetti monster; Mercedes and Jaguar are knee deep into some kind of war over which one of them can design the ugliest possible front end and grille.

Totally disagree about Jag, the F-type is about the most desirable car on the market.

depends on which iteration of the F you're referring to.

I personally cannot stand convertibles, and while the coupe is one of the only Jaguar's I would be caught dead in, it still strikes me as wanna-be Maserati.
