S10ZR2 Posted January 1, 2003 Share Posted January 1, 2003 Okay, it's quite obvious that the cars in GTA III and Vice City are based on certain real cars. The Infernus from III looked quite similar to the Ferarri F50 for instance, the cheetah much like the 550, and so on. Well, what similar to real life cars can you ID in Vice City? here's the few i can think of off the top of my head since my PS2's not plugged in at the moment. I'll start with the air vehicles since that's my specialty: Maverick: Bell 206 or 212 Sparrow: can't remember the name, i know it's an early Sikorsky. think M*A*S*H* Dodo/Skimmer (heard it called both) : Cessna 172 okay, motorcycles: PCJ 600: any supersport bike out there. Looks a lot like a Yamaha YZF-R6 to me though Cars: Phoenix: 80's (duh) Corvette? Saber and Saber Turbo are 1969 Oldsmobile 4-4-2's (well the saber might just be a cutlass also y the fu*k would u turbocharge a 4-4-2) Voodoo is a 1960 Chevy Bel-air it looks alot like a impala but do some research the impala has 3 taillights on each side and the bel-air has 2 thus making it a bel-air. Caddie is a 1984 Caddiemaster 4000 ( ) Oceanic(maybe be its not that... whats that thing called?) looks like a 1960 or 1961 Buick Lesaber. Stallion from GTA3 is NOT A MUSTANG i dont even no how u get that at all. its an early try at a 4-4-2 ..ok its a cross between a '70 4-4-2 and a 68 Mustang convertable..happy? Bobcat is almost a lawsuit mid-late 80's Ford Ranger. Stinger is a 1967 Ferriari Daytona Spyder thers other misc cars i no but there just 80's pos's that i rather not spend my time with(and a few i just dont feel like doin casue im tired) im a car guy to the bone if u dont like my answers.. suck it and go ask R* they will say the same. So I have no idea if the models I'm gonna mention were existent in '86 cause I'm pulling all of this out of my ass. Admiral: E-series Mercedes. Not only do they look exactly the same (all the way to the steel "stripe" on the side of the body), but if you go to the offical VC website and look at the Admiral file, it says that it's a german import. Mercedes is a german company. Blista Compact: Everybody says it's a Honda CRX, but I think it looks more like a Mitsubishi Colt. The Stinger in GTA3 was also a TVR, a Griffith to be precise, although everyone mistakes it for a Shelby Cobra because of the racing stripe paintjob. If you doubt me, check this site... Click here for Tasmin Click here for Griffith And stop saying it's a Ferrari because Grand Theft Auto already has a Ferrari and it's the Cheetah. The reason I'm so sure that the Stinger is a TVR in both games (aside from the obvious physical resemblance) is British Pride. The Stinger is the best handling car in both games (with possible exception to the Comet/911 turbo but that is supposed to have 4wd, an obvious advantage), and is remarkably fast. The reason for this... wanted to make their homeland's representative automobile the most badass in the games. Thus, Stinger = TVR. Suck it. Ninjacat out.
